Can't Front on Me

Warning: Spoilers
Shows like this need new villains every year to be sustained. I was kind of nervous Mariah was going to end up on Luke Cage for its entire duration, but thankfully I was proven wrong here. I did not see her getting outsmarted by her daughter, that was a nice twist, but still not enough to save this season.

Shocking death, but just another okay episode overall.

Best of the season

A lot of reasons to write this episode off. A lot of holes in the plot...

But Shades confession made it all worth watching. Very realistic. Believable in his words and emotions.

As he let it all flow out without caring what others thought. He also accept the anger by others he hurt.

Why didn't they do this before?

Things are finally picking up for this, the penultimate episode. Lots of twists and drama and some decent action to boot. Every actor looks pleased that they're finally getting substance to work with. Why couldn't it have been like this before?

The Plot Holes...

Warning: Spoilers
First of all, I just don't understand the point of the concert to protect Mariah. I mean, why does Bushmaster HAVE to attack her during those few hours when the place is full? Why not wait for a more opportune time? It makes absolutely no sense.

They send Shades in (during a loud concert) with a wire? She leads him into a safe room that he was aware of, but didn't think to mention it to the cops?

Overall this season has been disappointing. The background music is straight out of a 70's cop show. I have always liked Alfie Woodard as an actress, but she's just too over the top in this role. And why is it that in these Marvel Defender related shows the "hero" is typically the dumbest person in the room? I can't think of many smart moves he makes through this entire season. Yeah, I watched to the end, but it was a regrettable decision.
