House party

This music video is passed off as an inside look at a Demi Lovato house party, but it's a bit too staged to be that spontaneous... but okay, whatever.

Warning: Spoilers
What we have here is the music video for the Demi Lovato song "Sorry Not Sorry" and as this was released in summer 2017, it is not even a year old and still has easily over 300 million views on Youtube. And that is not a good thing at all. It's tough for me to say anything positive about this one, maybe that it's over in under 4 minutes luckily for us audiences because there's no way you can have as much fun as the people in this video who are celebrating a pool party. For viewers and listeners it is a fool party. The song here is very generic and forgettable contents-wise, not challenging music wise and not particularly catchy either. The seemingly spontaneous inclusions of people (not just Demi) talking and not singing feel very fake and were obviously scripted. The police reference at the very end could not be any more cringeworthy. I bet there wasn't any police coming atg all, but Miss Lovato wanted to show us how her longing for party and fun cannot even be stopped by the authorities. What else can I say, it is bad to watch, but listening to the record isn't any better either, so skip this one in its entirety. It certainly says nothing about the current generation if this song or video is a defining pop culture phenomenon these days. And boo for Oscar winner Jamie Foxx to appear in here. What is he thinking. With the likes of Paris Hilton, I am not too surprised, but yeah, to each his own I guess. For me, this project gets a gigantic thumbs-down and it also makes me more skeptical about Lovato conctantly referring all the problems she had in the past as honestly she seems to have nothing learnt from it with how generic and commercial her "artistic" approach here turned out to be. Nothing I see that justifies a career. Stay far away from this one.
