As I already have said, "NCIS" has been one of my favorite shows for many years and still is, but after Ziva and especially Tony left, the show hasn't been the same. The 14th season was very disappointing, but the 15th series started off fine. "Twofer" is not as good as "House Divided", though not a bad episode at all.
This episode does suffer from quite a few problems, though let's start with positives first:
. The story of "Twofer" is at times compelling, there are some dramatic moments and plot points that work and are well done.
. The acting and humor are usually good, especially liked the subplot about Tim and Gibbs trying to recover from their torturing experience, Ellie being a boss of the team was also nice touch, which felt like an appropriate way to handle these characters.
Now is the problems' time.
. The story can come of quite average at times with a plot of marine officer found dead in a casket he should not be in that feels used and not having the most interesting way of telling its story.
. Also, the subplot of Tim and Gibbs talking about them getting tortured is interesting, but does take over too many things at times with its dramatic themes.
. Ellie Bishop as the boss of the team is a good idea, which is unfortunately underdeveloped. Absolutely agree with Mason Henderson ( a youtuber, who also talks about NCIS) that: why Ellie couldn't have been the boss for more episodes in this season?
. The solution of "Twofer" as well left me cold with its too ambivalent for its own good type way and which does not match with the rest of this episode.
Overall, okay,but very flawed episode.
