This is one of Tara Reids best in my opinion. No it is not the best but still NOT deserving some of the bad reviews I have seen, So I say watch it and decide for yourself like I did and and so glad I did. James Welch Henderson, Arkansas 11/25/2020

There has been so many different versions of this idea it's ridiculous and this is far from being the worst, however it's also far, far from being the best. Formulaic and obvious yes, but still charming in its way. The king is adorable, don't know what it is, I just thought he was lovely. The daughter too is a delight, although clearly not their child as she has brown eyes to their two pairs of blue, (Mama got some explaining to do). The absolute worst part of this though is Tara Reid, she.cannot.act. She is completely wrong for the part, no-one would believe a king could fall her, there is zero chemistry between her and the king, her speech is terrible, her 'look is awful and oh my god her posture. Seriously she looks like she's ill, she can't even stand straight. Just awful casting, whoever thought she was right for the part needs their eyes tested.
Bad acting

I watched, because I became invested.

Tara Reid is spectacular- (-ly miscast) in this film.

Tara Reid is, I'm sorry, not what we would believe as the classy, beautiful long-lost love of a prince. She is more box wine than Bordeaux. Ingo Rademacher, usually as dependable an actor as he is handsome, is a particularly charmless prince. Together he and Reid are a totally unlikely love match in this tedious Christmas romance. For Christmas movie fans, there is not much in the California setting to bring that warm holiday glow. The one bright spot is the sweet, effortless performance from Haley Pullos as their daughter Lily. The scenes with and her friend Taylor (Kennedy Lea Slocum) are adorable. There is very little else in this film to recommend it.

Embarrassing to watch.

Some bad films are fun to watch. Some bad films are facinating train wrecks. This bad film is simply bad. It is sappy, predictable, and low-budget. It is at least a good collection of nice-looking people. If given a choice between this and cleaning the gutters, I'd go with the gutters.
Just my opinion in 2020

The story line is of fairytale proportions and I loved it. I've seen all of these actors in other shows and movies and like them all. I do feel that this movies' script writers, could have given these characters better material, in the events leading up to the reveal. Anyway, a good movie.
From bad to worse!

Decent Holiday movie! Brand new! Solid 6 Stars from me!

I didn't have any issues with this movie. However, it was an ION Channel premier movie and the ION Channel isn't high quality or high definition viewing. And yes, it probably could have had better directing in terms of the editing. I kept seeing the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego in this movie (I've been there many times, so I know that seen very well) and they were calling it some other hotel in Los Angeles. I thought the plot was alright. I just don't really like watching less than high definition channels because I'm spoiled with the picture quality on them. I was with and at my mother's (a 71 yr old she is) when she chose this movie for us to watch on the ION channel. These baby boomer's are not that picky when it comes to television and technological quality. I keep telling them, you get what you pay for in most cases, but they are all deaf ears at this point in their lives. So I just let it be. I was fine with this movie through to the end. It turned out OK despite the editing. I don't think it was filmed in San Diego. I think they 'edited-in' shots of the Hotel Del Coronado, but I'm not convinced it was filmed there. I was trying to recognize more of it, but I never got a solid or clear vision that would tell me it was filmed there. It's best to watch it once all the way through and then formulate an opinion of your own.
Not even a shred of reality

Bad acting, bad directing, horrible script, bad storyline, not steeped in any kind of reality at all. No wonder kids in the USA have such distorted views of royalty, monarchy and history. And did I mention the bad acting?

Lily is not the daughter of King Charles
tom-175-16157824 December 2018
I so very sorry for Lily, but she cannot be the daughter of King Charles. Both her mother and Charles have blue eyes, while Liky has brown eyes, which is genetically impossible. I'm afraid her mother did it too with some other bloke.
Not perfect but entertained

Not the best acting, pretty cheesy and predictable, but these are the type of movies that I enjoy. I don't follow actors so I have no clue who Tara Reid is, who so many are criticizing. But if you're like me, then give it a chance and decide for yourself.
Tara Reid??????

Warning: Spoilers
Tara Reid is not mother material never mind queen material. She's more like a bar fly or trailer trash. The plot is totally unoriginal. You claim to be a writer, use your brain and come up with your own story, don't copy someone else's!
Enjoyable story but bad acting

Yes Tara Reid is not good as an actor. I thought Ingo Rademacher was even worse. His presence distracted me in almost every scene he was in. Reid was distracting but not as much or as often. Together, there was no chemistry. Do I need to beat that dead horse?
The joy of the movie was Haley Pullos as Lilly. Certainly she was sweet enough to cause cavities, but I kind of like that. I saw the story as being about Lilly and finding her dad. And this teenager had a good relationship with her mom. Sure there was some occasional anger and defiance, but that's the default state for a teenager. This story is Cinderella in a whole new way. We don't see the poverty which would have been inevitable for a single mom finishing college, and by the time we first see Allison and Lilly, they are living a nice life. But Lilly always wanted two things. She wanted to know her father, and she had the same princess dreams my granddaughter has. I enjoyed the ride as Lilly went from the shock of actually seeing the man she had once seen in old photo, to trying to meet him, to the joy of finding her father, and the cherry on top was becoming "Her Royal Highness". Stupid and sappy? Oh yeah. Of course it could never happen along with fifty other things in this movie. But it's fun.
I love the scene where Lilly is trying to figure out what to say to this man she serendipitously finds in the hotel lobby. "I'm taking a survey." But so many emotions running under the surface in that scene. There's also some humor in this scene and several other times throughout the movie.
Rosa is a villain you really want to hate. It's almost too bad she changed in the end.
The actors playing Allison's friend and Sam were almost OK. Both almost seemed natural, at least at times.
Christmas is not a real part of the story except to allow the ball.
The one premise that I would say I'm least likely to enjoy is the "royal" romance. But this one was different, and the romance story was secondary. It's just too bad they didn't cast the king and Allison better. I watch these movies as a guilty pleasure and to forget what's going on in the real world. This movie fills those roles.

Nothing Good About This
uber_geek14 December 2019
Ingo Rademacher is definitely easy on the eyes, but this script is a dog. Topping that, they didn't even bother to get an actor to play Lily who had blue eyes. (It is genetically impossible for two blue-eyed people to have a brown-eyed child.) Even overlooking that, the script is formulaic and predictable.
Worst Movie Ever!!
mizrobin22 November 2020
Tara Reid was awful. The girl was cute but completely misplaced between the terrible casting of the "mother" and the poor excuse of the king. I only watched as long as I did because I couldn't find the remote and became invested. Would have been a way better movie if it had a better budget, actors, and a plot line. It is the "2020" of Christmas movies.
