Lives up to the title, unfortunately

Hank Hoffman's shaggy-dog story for Wicked Pictures starts off promisingly, with a twisty screenplay (by Hank and Slinka Long) that peters out by its unsatisfying ending. More to say about that later.

Abigail Mac is sympathetic as she gives lover Olive Glass a birthday party and presents, attended by just the two of them. Title rears its ugly head when Olive says "Spoil me" as they embrace on the couch, explaining that she wants Abby "to push your limits".

That's the high concept of the script, entailing elements of BDSM but more significantly manipulating clueless Abigail into a series of uncomfortable and humiliating experiences, starting with her being locked half naked out of their house, in the cold.

Detailing what happens to Mac would spoil the suspense, but when all is revealed by the final reel (and final cum shot) the movie ends in an anticlimax.

I thought it over and recalled that truly great and satisfying films ("Citizen Kane" and "Shawshank Redemption" came to mind randomly from different eras) go beyond engrossing storytelling to deliver an ending that is moving and sums up the story. Hoffman and company here create the intriguing set-up but fail to tie things up with a beautiful knot.
