Keeps getting better and better, Miles Miller gave us a superb episode with incredible storytelling
Holt34416 April 2019
Long time since the creator, Miles Miller directed an episode and he succeeded in creating one of the season's best episodes. Giving us backstory and new light on the Black Lotus also introducing a surprising character. The cinematography and camera work were great, so was the landscape they shot in, stunning sets and landscape. The fight sequences were incredible, some of the best as it felt more natural and not the supernatural fighting that there can at times be. Daniel Wu has it both, acting skills and a fantastic martial artist. Just seeing him in the fight sequences and thinking about the incredible choreography that goes in with them is simply fantastic as the stunts are better than perfect. I can't wait to see the war to come, from the teaser I've to say I'm hyped.

Some of my favorite moments of the episode was seeing the Black Lotus base of operations and seeing the whole story arc that was going on there as it was done with such perfection, having the perfect pace. Another moment that I liked was the scenes with The Widow and The Master, I felt like the dialogue and overall writing was great there.

Best episode of the entire series
syorgos17 April 2019
This episode is a true jem from the first until the last second. The 5 minute battle is high quality TV. The song at the end (Disturbed - Sound of Silence) big surprise fits perfectly to the story. The storytelling and the direction is outstanding. The characters are superb and all enjoyable. I loved it. Please AMC renew this incredible and unique show for a 4rth season NOW. i am so addicted and hooked that i can't wait every week for the next episode to be aired. It's my first review i write. Into the badlands is one of the best series at the moment and season 3 is phenomenal.

Warning: Spoilers
Spoilers ahead....be warned

This was a sad episode for me..seeing one of my favorite characters die, as i had hoped she would have come back to face down pilgrim and show him what true power was. This Almost happens, as the master suddenly unleashes her force on the unsuspecting pilgrim and literally has him in her grip...you see how shocked he is, overwhelmed and terrified and then.......Mk runs a sword thru her....how sad for her to go out like that...all that knowledge and power snuffed out...she was the only one in the show with a deep understanding of that force and had the balance and presence of mind to contain it and keep it in check...pilgrim will not be able to handle it...he is not balanced enough and not prepared thru decades and decades of training and study to contain it safely and become a master...it will consume him.. thank goodness badgie has been saved..we all kind of knew ankara would heal him, though she gave the last of her healing power to him and could not save herself. she also had Lots of potential, also being a master, but she never got to fully utilise her abilities in her storyline. What i was hoping for, yet did Not see, was when the master and the widow where together b4 she passed, i was hoping she would Finally give the widow the gift b4 she died...Maybe she has? OR maybe sunnys sister will awaken them Both to fight pilgrim...It would be a real pity, if the series ran its course Without the widow getting the gift..... anyway, awesome storytelling, a sad episode.... Sunnys sister is super cool,i love her look and when shes awakened shes a powerhouse, yet seems to have control over it unlike mk...Sunny went so wild when she freed him that i swore she gave him the gift..he was knocking people around like they were rag dolls and i swore he was powered up, i kept looking to see if he had the eyes! but no, that was ordinary sunny! whats he gonna be like when he gets the gift? lets hope he AND the widow get it and together wipe the floor with pilgrim..

Warning: Spoilers
Some great revelations into Sunny's past life and an interesting new character. 2 important deaths, a resurrection, a great fight at the end and some jaw dropping cinematography elevated by one of the most awesome songs of all time make this a winner all the way. The mid season starred of poorly but the shows been redeemed in the last couple of episodes. Hope they can keep the momentum going till the finale!!

I'm late to the show but what a fun ride!

Warning: Spoilers
This is the best AMC show for me. While Breaking Bad had all the drama and acting, the action and storylines of Into the Badlands are much more my style. I built up a lot of hype for this show and it more than exceeded my expectations. While all of you have seen the show (at least once - I will watch this again) I want to comment more on the ending of this episode.

I initially thought it was cheesy to have Disturbed's cover of "Sound of Silence" play at the end with some wannabe epic ending but the scene really grew on me as it went on; now I have watched this scene at least 10 times in the last 24 hours. The timing of some of the lyrics/music, particularly when Pilgrim signals to slice their lips, just fit perfectly. It even brought out emotions from myself which is rare. The scene elevated the song, while the song elevated the emotional ending of this episode (as if we needed more after discovering Sunny's sister!) - a beautiful combination. In my opinion, the momentum shift in the season can really be felt in this episode while the ending is the cherry.
