Give a little more time
pgaylehart27 September 2018
I love Missy Peregyrm, especially in Rookie Blue (which should still be on) so hoping the writers give her character more to work with in upcoming episodes as well as the supporting actors. Otherwise I don't think the show will make it! So @ this pt I'm willing to give it 1-2 more episodes to watch before I totally make up my mind. Btw she is also great in Van Helsing which starts back on SCFY 10/5, so if this show doesn't make it & you like Missy you can see her on that show.

Looks Familiar But Promising
Kolorgasm30 September 2018
Now that Quantico's ended those who are looking to fill their Quantico-sized hole might find something familiar with FBI. For a pilot it's pretty decent, production is great and it was riveting, but that's always expected of pilots, hopefully they can keep this up because it was a good start. It starts off with an explosion and it also reminded me of the Quantico pilot, which also began with an explosion. It was pretty cool and it shocked me a little bit. I was impressed a little with the cinematography, that's something that I always focus on.

About the characters, though, well we haven't learned a lot from them yet and it's good that the pilot didn't do venture on that part that much because it's a tactic for us to keep watching. Some faces are pretty familiar and I welcome them with open arms. Those who have seen way too many action films and series might not actually watch the second episode if your focus is on the characters, because most of them are quite predictable, but those just looking for something new might give this a chance.

Missy Peregrym is great, she brings a good mix of badass and emotion. But I'm more interested with her partner, they call him OA. He looks pretty much like a sidekick but the pilot didn't actually delve much into him so I'll give the next few episodes a chance (See? Tactic).

Hopefully, the show can maintain the pilot's momentum and even improve when it comes to storyline, with a lot of similarly-themed shows out there like Blindspot, and of course, the recently cancelled Quantico, etc... the plot can seem predictable. I'm hoping FBI will bring something new to the table and impress a lot of viewers. And I'm also looking forward to sexiness, you should never rule that out. Haha.

Great Show
dsweeting-838-64293627 September 2018
Actors are talented, story was political/gang related (yes like other cop shows) but with emotion and suspense. The character back stories are hinted at with some mystery and I want to see what happens. To all the negative viewers, give it a chance unless you really don't care for shows where the law enforcement agencies actually do their jobs and protect it's citizens. If that's case maybe you prefer "The Housewives of "wherever" or 1 of the other over-done reality shows.

Dick Wolf Dumps His Trash On CBS
nycnftm-3085026 September 2018
I don't know what the real FBI is like but I hope it's nothing like the people that were portrayed in this television show. Who dressed Jeremy Sisto as Mister Rogers? Dallas Roberts stole the show. Can I get that hour of my life back?

Intense drama and criminal investigation, kinda has the same feel as The Fugitive movie.

"Pilot"
allmoviesfan22 February 2024
FBI's pilot episode - another concept from the genius mind of Dick Wolf - starts out with a literal bang. Actually, two literal bangs. An apartment building in the Bronx is destroyed. Enter FBI agents Maggie Bell (Missy Peregrym) and Omar Adom 'OA' Zidan (Zeeko Zaki) who work out of the NY field office.

Events are very fast moving, and there are a few really tense scenes as the agents figure out who is behind the explosions - the bad guys aren't the ones you might imagine - and also stop any further ones.

Obviously a little hard to judge an entire show by it's pilot episode, but the lead actors did a very good job in their starring roles first time out and I'm sure the mixture of faces we see working back at the FBI's field office will become better known to as as the first season continues.

Undoubtedly a strong start. Looking forward to more.

Pilot
Prismark1021 August 2019
Dick Wolf's FBI procedural starts off with a bang. Then another bang which destroys a whole building in the south Bronx and many casualties.

A terrorist attack is later put down as a turf war between various New York criminal gangs. A turf war where the currency is the proceeds of crimes and it runs into millions.

FBI Agents Maggie Bell and OA Zidan use all the cutting edge technology that the FBI has. They find out that the explosions could be linked to a slick white nationalist leader working with gangs linked with Central America.

Of course what they did not fathom is. That a rather racist ex army white guy who runs a community centre they just spoke to in the hood could had been a suspect, but they arrested a latino instead who later meets a grisly death.

The pilot is slickly made, the second explosion makes good use of CGI. The writing is clunky. Also if you are going to have racist characters, it looks odd when you pull your punches in depicting racist language.

The FBI characters although diverse are all bland. Bell is solid, reliable, competent, caring and good at her job. A stock character in use on just about every networked law enforcement show on US television.

It lacks the twists and turns of Quantico which really was daft but really was a guilty pleasure. This is efficient but dull.

Confused
hyacintoblack27 July 2020
Began watching pilot episode and half way in still had a feeling like I've missed a previous episode or something. I have no clue who the characters really are, what their backstories are. Missy was great in Rookie blue but here I think she's miscast unfortunately. It feels like something is missing or some information is missing...

Warning: Spoilers
Within the first 10 minutes I just knew that there would be a 'white supremacist' angle. And what do you know? There was.

Another boring law enforcement show!
bbaaspencer22 October 2018
I really wanted this to be good, but fails. For starters, no strong lead characters. Needs a really strong well known actor to be lead on scene FBI agent to guide the rest of the FBI. Sorry, Missy just doesn't cut it! The show is basically copying other cops show episodes and just tweaking it to appear new. Add in a couple of fresh faces and a couple new writers and I'd say it could survive.

predictable

Predictable writing, casting and acting. Why make this when you know its just going to be below average television? Shameful that this has more than one season.

Really?
scott-emily7012 January 2022
Are there really any white supremacist groups in the US? Really? Not really. Overtired subject matter, that the majority of the US do not believe. If there were such groups I'm sure MSM would let us know all about it. Please just entertain without these new found unrealistic scenarios.
