Do You Know Anything About Witches? (2017)

*** 1/2 (out of 4)

This video essay from Michael Mackenzie was written and narrated by him as he discusses his first time seeing Dario Argento's SUSPIRIA and the impression it left on him. This thirty-minute piece has Mackenzie talking about a wide range of subjects including Argento's career leading up to this picture as well as the impact the visual style of the movie had. Various bits of the production are covered including the original cinematographer as well as the casting of the picture. The two other films from the "Three Mothers" trilogy are also briefly discussed. I really did enjoy this essay because Mackenzie is so easy to listen to and I thought for the most part he hit all the interesting aspects of the film. He also talks about the flaws in the story as well as why they might just happen to make the film work even better. If you're a fan of SUSPIRIA then this is certainly worth watching.
