After the stabbing of Jessica in Episode 1, we drop back, confusedly, to what went on with Trish before this happened. Trish goes into training, but I thought she had developed some powers from the good doctor. Anyway, on the one hand we have Jessica, who has continues to be abrasive for abrasive's sake. And then it's Trish and her really tiresome mother. So here we go. What are the writers going to give us?

Episode 302

I did not think a Trish-centric episode would work, but this look into her backstory of how she turned into a super hero proved to be quite entertaining.
Disappointed this is the last season, but as long as the quality is strong I can live with it.

This episode was a pleasant surprise as we mainly focused on Trish and her aspirations of being a hero. Pushing Jessica aside this early into the season was a risk but the direction from Krysten Ritter made this episode feel very natural and refreshing. Rachael Taylor also deserves credit for taking a character who I was growing tired of in season 2 and making her more dynamic and engaging this season. This season definitely has my attention.

An excellent Trish-centric episode
dominionlimo-756164 August 2020
Rachel Taylor (Trish) finally gets a chance to demonstrate a wider range of acting skills than heretofore. It is also obvious that she does many of her own stunts; all ably directed by Krysten Ritter (Jessica) in her directorial debut. Jessica has less screen time than usual allowing her to concentrate on directing. Looking forward to more Trish-centric episodes, and possibly even a spin-off, as well as more episodes directed by Ms Ritter.
What are her super powers?

Trish is unbearable

Would it maybe, just maybe, at some point be possible to have a show where there isn't some blonde side kick character who eventually takes over the show?
This happened with the Mary Watson show (aka Sherlock) and to some extent even to Daredevil with Karen Page. Seriously, I start to watch for a show expecting to get Sherlock/Daredevel/Jessica Jones, and what do you get instead? A show centered around some entitled basic b character who isn't satisfied with Soy Lattes and Avocado toasts anymore and wants to live out her suffocating savior complex, but is really just mentally one step away from becoming a self righteous soccer mom.
The character of Trish is especially unbearable. Self-righteous, unsympathetic (unless you're one of those people who just spontaneously love anything fit and blonde, in which case, well... fair enough), emotionally retarded (who the heck wouldn't get that if you killed someone's mother, no matter the reason, that person wouldn't be up for being close to you) and profoundly underwhelming in abilities (so she has slightly improved night eye sight, but else she just learned parcours... wow... just wow... not...).
So I'll be frank, I never read any of those comics. I went into this show completely naive. Loved the first season and was okay with the second. By the end of the second season I was kind of suspecting Trish might turn into a bad guy, which actually would have been kind of cool (didn't know about Hellcat, so...). But as it is now with season 3 so far I am just suffering through this Trish-show hoping it will eventually focus back on the cool, badass, broken, drunkard main character who gave the show its name.

This creature is ruining the tv-show, holy crap she is boring, and this episode was 98% just her, think i got a tumor in my brain watching this crap. If she just died of a heartattack all random in an episode then I would be 100% ok with that....
Waste of space, revive Kilgrave instead.
Have to agree

Never written a review before, but how is parkour a superpower, its ridiculous! I totally agree with the other reviewer.
I'm not knocking parkour, I think people that do that are incredible and I wish I could do half the moves, but I'd argue not a superpower.
Also Trish is flipping annoying and why the flip does she keep her mum around!!!!!!
If the episodes are Trish and mum centres I don't think I'll be watching many more. Sad way for Marvel to bow out on Netflix
Inevitable redemption arc for a bad character

This episode is a nice companion for 301, Trish's life and what has happened since season two. It's linear, simply structured, predictable. Not bad, not great.
Trish herself is unbearable. She truly believes she can do no wrong. She will not take responsibility for her actions. Everyone on this show has made massive mistakes but Trish's savior complex sets her apart - she thinks she is justified and that, because she had good intentions, everything she has done is right. She killed Jessica's mother and expects to be forgiven. EXPECTS. I'm sure Jessica and Trish will have a lovely, tearful, sisterly moment at some point in the season, but I'm not looking forward to it. It almost doesn't matter what Jessica's mother was, what she did, in this equation - Trish just will not acknowledge the gravity there.
As for the writing - the dialogue for Trish is as corny as ever, with all the typical superhero crap. She actually searches Bing for "how a hero fights crime in NYC". Just wow.

Trish Walker....just an almighty pain in the ass. Truly her mothers daughter. How Jessica hasn't punched her into next week I don't know. Now that would be worth seeing. Shame I won't happen. Pats....Take your Cray cray and do one!

Another disappointing and pedestrian episode. Scenes of the Trisha character training and the like are quite ridiculous and I felt embarrassed for the actress involved. The only saving grace here is an always-welcome Rebecca De Mornay.
