It's better than most celeb shows
kjjames817 September 2019
Well I have watched the last two seasons and traditionaluth be told it's not that bad. Yes there are your typical look at me I can't be bothered, I am to good for is celeb but then there are the funny bits that make an episode worth the watch. So don't expect a brain storming show but if you want to watch a show where you see celebs out of their comfort zone, then watch this but please turn off your brain. The one big problem with the show is that they don't have A list celebs going on the show, if they did this show would be a hit instead of a minor hit.

What's for tea? Ooh, mince!

This isn't such a bad show. The new series (2019) has surreptitiously edged away from the actual farming, becoming more a cross between the Apprentice and the Generation Game - and that's a good thing, because once you get over the amusement of them wrinkling up their noses at having to muck out the byre etc farming is not that telegenic. But, although this is less screamingly camp than the previous 2 series, they still need to ease down on the pathetic junior-school innuendoes. There's far too much of this on TV now, and in this case most of it actually comes from the presenter (oo-er! I said 'comes'!). When you can't have a (totally spurious) task about catching hens without a load of 'c**k' jokes - well not jokes, references - and dissolving into stage giggles at the phrase 'approach them from behind' (not even 'take them from behind'!), you've got problems. If a gay character in a drama acted that way, there'd be outrage at such an OTT stereotype. Farmer Chris looks on with ill-concealed, and justified, contempt. Sort it aht.

It was nice to see Paul Merson strike a little blow for the ordinary bloke by winning it. It speaks volumes that he's the only one of the lot who has heard of Peppa Pig.

Another show with ....... who?

It's been a long time since I've watched, and enjoyed a Celebrity show, and to be honest, known who most of them are. The format of this show is amusing enough, it's nice to see some of the contestants move from living charmed lives, to having to rough it for a few days.

It really does depend on which type of celebrities why choose, if they did actually choose people who are famous for something, fair enough, but these people who are just famous for being famous, I think the term celebrity needs to be re-evaluated.

Great to see athletes, they're always so grounded and refreshing, mentally so advanced in comparison to those that inhabit the rounds of celebrity shows.

Please rename it Randoms on the Farm. 3/10.

Yet Another Pointless Show With Third-Rate Celebrities

Was this show really warranted? It just goes to prove how LAZY television has gotten, when they get a bunch of "celebrities" (I say that, they're hardly of the same calibre as Tom Cruise or Katy Perry) to do stuff on TV, like dancing or cooking or being dumped in the jungle to munch down on kangaroo gonads. But this, this is on a whole different level.

So, the premise of the show is this. Get a bunch of B-grade celebrities and make them work on a farm for like a few weeks. And that's it. Honestly, it makes the equally terrible show Flockstars look like quality TV!

Like I mentioned above, the go-to show for TV these days seems to be those which involve making quasi-celebrities do stuff. However, this format is finite and there's only so many things you can do with it, before you start to run out of ideas. What next, celebrities sitting on the toilet?
