That line...

I love the intensity in this episode. Lawrence is finally starting to get second thoughts about Gilead and June's only focus is on saving as many as she can. The conversation between Fred and June in Lawrence's house is priceless! Fred: are you ok? June: Mhm.. at least it wasn't you.

Loved it!

Ok, now we start moving forwards, finally. Nice to see the fathers of Gilead having a taste of their own medicine.

Ald I just LOVED the final - "We're gonna need a bigger boat".

Classic line ad libbed by Roy Scheider in Jaws for you who din't catch that.

FINALLY
jennfinn24 July 2019
Finally after some of the most boring episodes of the series we get something worth watching. There are three episodes left and it seems all the action and rebellion will be contained in them. I still don't get how June isn't on the wall after her stunt with Serena at the hospital. I think June's mental stability has started to crack which is understandable but it's also lit a fire in her that I thought was long gone. I just hope this doesn't end up being like other plans June has come up with where she walks away unscathed and everyone else is dead.

"We're gonna need a bigger boat!"

June (Elizabeth Moss) is an exceptionally great actress! Despite giving this a high rating this season definitely has it's ups and downs of poor writing. I mean even after all these episodes so far it's outrageously mind blowing June gets away with so much and on the same level as the highest authority; don't get me wrong it doesn't make the show bad just that i'm perplexed! Great episode overall, just wanted to make a few points.

Does anyone actually like Joseph and Eleanor? Everything with those two are so boring.

Cut those two out and you had an okay episode.

Episode not bad, but can't pull up the average for an overall horrible season

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was intriguing and brought up a few eyebrows. However, we keep hoping Gillead , Serena , Fred, Aunt Lydia will be punished for their actions and it's looking like another season of disappointment for that goal. It's hard to sympathize with June at all in this season, since she didn't leave Gillead at the end of season 2 with her daughter Nicole. Show is tanking big time

Another very good episode. This one was definitely faster in pace which was appreciated. It's so hard not to feel bad for Eleanor and Joseph, because the show makes sympathising with them so so easy. But as we found out, Joseph is a literal war criminal, and who knows how vicious the exact crimes he's guilty of are. Even if he would rather not partake in the Ceremony himself, it doesn't change the fact that he likely designed it, and is still responsible for the systemic rape of hundreds of women. Eleanor especially is so innocent, and yet I'm sure she also has plenty of blood on her hands. Speaking of the Ceremony, it was really brilliantly done. The tension, June's assurances, Joseph's evident discomfort and Eleanor's cries all made it a gripping scene. As if the Ceremony wasn't a sickening enough concept, the fact that they had those slimeballs listening in made it even more vile. The show is still able to come up with ways to make Gilead look increasingly more repulsive, which is exactly what I love seeing. I'm looking forward to seeing how Serena plans to use Luke to get to Nichole, and the ending is possibly one of the most hopeful moments of the show. After a slight hiccup it looks like we're back on track

"At least it wasn't you" was one of the best mic drop moments in TV history.

"We're gonna need a bigger boat" was cheesy and yet awesome. I didn't have high hopes for this season but it has caught up well.

Finally a good episode. The last few have been pretty bad. Honestly, there are too many episodes in each season. Obviously, they should cut it down 10.

At last!
betanslivka31 July 2021
After giving the previous episode only 3 stars, I am so happy I decided to continue watching. This episode ranks up there with season 1. Everyone is back in character. And, as others have stated, it contains perhaps the best line in the series so far: "Well, at least it wasn't you." I cheered! Here's hoping this episode put a stop to the downhill slide. I left off one star, because of the lax security again. And because June always talking in a whisper drives me crazy.

FINALLY
reynoldskatie-8597318 August 2019
FINALLY SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED. I know this programme is usually a slow burner but this series has been painful. But this episode was brilliant, finally something satisfying has come of it, June hasn't been annoying or a manipulating cow this episode (she's become super dislikable for me). Such a good episode, hope it picks up from here! Judging by the ratings of the other episodes it does hurrrrah!

Whispers of Rebellion
badeclerck1 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
In the intricate tapestry of Gilead, Episode 10 of Season 3 sheds light on the duplicitous nature of Commander Waterford, weaving a narrative around his ruthless pursuit of righteousness. The episode not only delves into the one-sided rivalry between Waterford and Commander Lawrence but also unravels the innocence and naivety of Eleanor, the latter's wife, who stands as a poignant symbol of the silent dissent within Gilead.

Commander Waterford, in his quest to outshine others in piety, exploits the moral precepts of Gilead to bring down Commander Lawrence. The intricate dance of power and manipulation takes center stage, showcasing the dark underbelly of Gilead's leadership. Waterford's hypocritical actions expose the moral bankruptcy that lies beneath the veneer of religious devotion.

Eleanor, a character marked by her reluctance to embrace Gilead, is a refreshing contrast in this dystopian world. Despite acknowledging her husband's war crimes, she remains loyal, offering a different perspective on the internal struggles faced by Gilead's women. Her portrayal is poignant, eliciting empathy as she grapples with the harsh realities imposed by the regime.

The episode reaches a climax when Commander Lawrence, forced to participate in the Ceremony to avoid suspicion, prompts June to hatch a daring plan. Eleanor becomes a pawn in this elaborate scheme, serving as the emotional core that adds depth to the unfolding rebellion. June's proposal to help Commander Lawrence escape, coupled with the plan to smuggle children out of Gilead, sets the stage for a riveting season finale.

Meanwhile, Serena Waterford's impatience and desperation to be reunited with Nichole drive her to make a decisive move. Her willingness to negotiate with an American representative using Fred's phone signifies a shift in her allegiance and hints at a potential betrayal of Gilead.

As the season hurtles toward its conclusion, Episode 10 sets the scene for an explosive finale. June and Serena, united by their determination to achieve their respective goals, promise a thrilling conclusion to a season marked by rebellion, sacrifice, and the relentless pursuit of freedom.

Great episode, quite unsettling!
lydianorder28 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode shows really well that nobody can escape the absurdity of the laws in Gilead, regardless of rank and status. As the Lawrence's are forced to perform the ceremony with June, we get an even better image of Fred Waterford's obsession with June. The truly sad story in season 3 is the endearing Mrs Lawrence, who is so very vulnerable and a true victim of her husband's work. Julie Dretzin plays a relatively small role but she does an amazing job. One cannot help but like Mrs. Lawrence and feel empathy for her. She is a tragic character, unable to cope with the injustice and cruelty of Gilead. A very good episode.

Starting to generate interest
Leofwine_draca4 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 10 finally starts to generate some interest but of course we're almost at the end already. This stuff should have been going on in the first episode, not the whole going in circles/treading water stuff instead. The set-piece of the second half is handled nicely and the very ending promises more to come, but why are they taking so long?

Great episode to show others
vivianla22 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Omg this episode was chilling. During grocery shopping, June talks to the Handmaid about getting children out. They are all called for some gathering and we see the Waterfords enter the ring. They have the man from Washington. Fred suspects that Lawrence is not following protocol as June seems content enough. On the day of the ritual, the Waterfords show up with the man from Washington and Aunt Lydia. They are to watch the ritual happen. They have a doctor to inspect June after. Lawrence has no choice but to cum inside her and then afterwards gives her contraceptives. That was the last straw - he told June to get his wife out to Canada by truck safely. He will help get children out of Gilead to make up for his war crimes.
