Gwynn. Fine actress, but her character is so incompetent and frustrating its become hard to enjoy this season.
There's a learning process to be a Ruler, and mistakes will be made, but she has zero clue what she's doing. Here's her worst decisions so far: 1. Finds out her handmaiden is a spy and tries to execute her immediately. Doesn't try to use her to send false intel to the Order and seems to have zero concept of redeeming a person. She's supposed to be the "Fair Ruler" but her idea of fairness is "Don't torture people, kill them immediately" and yet she allows Naya to be tortured for information. Oh and she knows Naya did this because her family was threatened.
2. Janzo helps Naya escape after making a reasonable plea to Gwynn which she ignores. So she tells him "Fix all my problems and then I might execute you". What?
He does solve huge problems: Turns Garret back to Normal (the love of her life), turns in his mother (her advisor) for selling drugs and solves the Plagueling Epidemic AND recruits a bunch of cured people to serve Gwynn. So ofcourse, Gwynn still jails him after he literally saves her entire campaign.
3. The Mistress. She accepts her money knowing it comes from questionable sources AND is fine with a plan of "Let plaguelings loose into an enemy army to win" using plaguelings the Mistress created... and then Jails the Mistress for creating plaguelings (that saved Gwynn's Outpost from a Siege) and for selling drugs. Gwynn also takes all of the Mistress' money.
Garret, on the other hand, tried to kill her, ruined her wedding, kidnapped her and hurt her far worse than anyone else. His punishment? Freedom as soon as he's cured. Thats right, Janzo still has to be guarded but Garret's guards are removed.
I'm not even going to go into detail about how she's taken advantage of and humiliated Tobin.
OR how she's gone all racist against blackbloods including Talon and abuses that friendship as well.
Gwynn is a character that has just a title, she keeps hurting everyone who helps her and punishes them for things SHE also does and expects everyone to sacrifice everything for her without getting anything in return because she's a Royal. Hopefully something changes soon, because right now she's actually almost worse option than the Order and a total moron when it comes to strategy.
