Terrible, Terrible Film!
20 August 2001
My wife and I wasted 104 minutes the other night watching this rotten movie. The performances aren't that bad, it's the story and screenplay - which is simply ridiculous. My wife loved the novel, and complained that the story was completely changed. Anyhow, it tries to be a horror story, a comedy, and a romance! - but fails miserably on all levels. I actually felt embarrassed for one of my favorite actors - Aidan Quinn. And what a silly ending!

Do yourself a favor, don't waste you time on this crap.

Ezekiel 25:17
20 November 2000
I love this film, one of my all time favorites. One thing bothers me though. Jules' mis-quoting the bible. I haven't seen anything to highlight his embellishment of Ezekiel. If you care, the verse goes like this:

"I shall perform frightful acts of vengeance & inflict furious punishments on them; & they will know that I am Yahweh, when I exact my vengeance on them."

Nice and simple. Nothing about the paths of righteous man beset by the inequities of good men.

What a great film.

Very well acted and well written. Beautifully filmed, with great music. But a sad tale. I am of Irish lineage, and I can see why my ancestors left Ireland. I wonder how many lives the Roman Catholic Church ruined with their meddling. Aidan Quinn and Moya Farrelly are terrific.
