Someone please tell me how they got David Lynch?
28 February 2010
Someone knows the story, please, please tell.

While watching I knew for sure that was his voice and jumped ahead to read the credits - bingo - David Lynch. Would be great if they can get him as a recurring character like Adam West on Family Guy. Funny episode. Loved the movie and TV references they had. "I'm going back, to the island." Good stuff. Cleveland coming in drunk teasing and then praising Cleveland Jr. Rollo, as usual had some great one liners too, "Where da White Women at?" Cracks me up how they just go there and get a way with it. Very funny. I think the show is finding it's groove. One of the things I like about Family Guy and Cleveland are the crazy asides and insane jokes. I look forward to seeing where they go in the next season.

Very Cool Movie
28 February 2010
So there have been a crap load of horror movies and vampire movies. The majority of them have been horrible. But this moderately budgeted vampire movie was the real deal. The team that put this together did an excellent job at creating a tense, taught and intelligent horror movie. It's sort of like the Gatica of horror movies.

It's a very cool film in a world where Vampires run the world and human beings are hunted and farmed for their blood. Attention to details is the thing that really helps allow you to suspend disbelief. Underground tunnels allow vampires to avoid sunlight. And During the day, the streets are relatively empty but those who are driving have specially outfitted cars with blacked out windows and multiple cameras and monitors. I really liked the movie because they didn't really take an easy way out. Becoming vampires was mostly a choice by the human race - immortality seems to be the answer to all the ailments that afflict people... but after some time, the food supply is running out and now there is something else that is affecting and afflicting the vampire population, and it's getting out of control.

There's a foreboding gloom over the movie that adds to the pressure and overall terror that awaits the remaining humans in hiding and the eventually starvation that awaits the vampire population. There is also a nice discussion as to what it means to be human and the price for reaching to far and tampering with what it is to be human.

This was a very refreshing look at the genre and definitely worth watching. My only real complaint is about the ending. As it builds and builds and builds you're completely invested and then it just ends! I was like WTF - it's as if they just ran out of money and/or film and just had to wrap it up. I'm sure that wasn't the case but it certainly felt like it. So if you haven't seen it, rent it with some confidence, turn out the lights, turn up the sound system and enjoy.

WoW! Very, very cool movie!!
2 June 2007
I don't want to rehash the plot, because others can do it better. I just want to sell you on seeing this movie. Cool animation, great story and voice work. If you have the chance to see this movie, check it out it's worth the money!! Hopefully it'll play in more markets in the US, but if you're in a city that won't get this movie, put it on your short list and check out the DVD when it's eventually released.

I know I'll get some hate for saying this, but it's cool enough for someone to remake into live action. Anyway, if you're curious about the movie like I was, you won't be let down when you see it. It's the real thing.

Loved it, one of the funniest movies in 2006
6 September 2006
Shame on Fox for dumping this movie. It was a total riot and I only hope that it will find a second life on DVD and cable.

This is a hilarious satire. It takes the "What if" situation to an extreme and it doesn't pull any punches (or kicks to the groin). It makes you think... what is to become of this empire once we've gotten totally to lazy and stupid? Everyone gets hit in this one esp. a number of major corporations, and even Fox News takes a punch(which is probably why the movie never had a proper release - other than the marketing department over thinking the campaign and not knowing how to market it "so we'll just give up!") Some may find the movie sophomoric, due to the groin kicking, and farting, but the movie is much more than that. You either get what Mike Judge is saying, or you don't. Most of the negative reviews I've read seem to come from people who just don't get it or are film snobs.

It'll probably play for one week in the selected markets so if you miss it, keep an eye out for the DVD, it'll be worth the rental and I will eventually have it in my collection.

Good Job Mike Judge, it's a shame that you got screwed, but you made me laugh out loud and I look forward to the next movie you do.

WOW, way cool. Rent this!
30 November 2005
I remember hearing about this when it came out, but I just kept putting it off and eventually it went away. Rented it this past summer ('05) and I was pretty much blown away.

The story is tight and engaging. The gun play and fight scenes are better than the junk that was in the two Matrix sequels. Bale and Diggs are great in this and I'm still in shock that I passed on seeing this in the theaters.

If you like sci-fi/fantasy movies, you're gonna dig this, unless you're a jaded film snob who likes to dump on anything and everything.

This is a cool and fun movie. Give it a shot.

Cheaters (2000– )
Love this show! Real Drama, real comedy
31 July 2004
This is perhaps the best reality show on TV. This is true drama. Human beings at their worst. Men and Women behaving like children and most of them not even caring. Shows you that you can sometimes never really trust the person who's supposed to have your back. Love it. The music, the voice-over artist, the commitment to form - every show has the "deceptive lover/husband/wife" lying on the phone. I don't understand why there are so many negative reactions to this show. I'm sick of seeing the same cookie-cutter cute people running around having fun and being stupid because they can't communicate their feeling or intentions. With Cheaters - we have all sorts of people who are in that place that we all fear to be in: Infidelity. Where a person who has given into that mental illness called love which requires you to open yourself up to being hurt by another person - and gets hurt by that person. It sucks that with the FCC crap they have blurred out the cheating couples even more. You don't have any idea what "position" they're in. Once again, great show.

The Best Man (1999)
A very funny and smart movie worthy of seeing
11 October 1999
I saw this movie at a screening in Los Angeles. I had high hopes and expectations, and they were all met. It was very refreshing to see a movie with an African American cast that was not insulting or that pandered to the lowest common denominator.

"The Best Man" was smart, funny, original, real. The audience enjoyed it . What makes this movie enjoyable is that you care for the characters. T. Diggs, does a great job at making you want to applaud him as well as smack him in the head. The rest of the cast did an awesome job, everyone gets a chance to run with the ball - they take their turn, and pass it off back to someone else.

Tech and photog. were also very well done. A wonderful film.
