This movie is really powerful with its messages and subject matter such as school shootings, drugs, trauma, and depression. The movie tackles these topics that happen in modern society and does it well. Some of the writing isn't all that great. Saying "LOL" out loud is not an amazing choice writing wise. Not only is the messages and subject matter handled well, but, putting a high school girl in those situations was probably the best idea the movie could go, especially with all the things she goes through not only being normal high school but also with school shooting being a main plot point of the movie.

This 1978 film was the start to one of the greatest movie genres EVER! HORROR. This movie has good story, kills that are heartbreaking/emotional if you cared about the characters, and over was a great movie. This was what started the horror-slasher genre and for good reason.

Good beginning to set up a good horror movie but failed to be a good horror movie. Or a good film overall. The "scares" were not scary what so ever also the story has flaws that are noticeable if you pay attention. Btw this is a no spoiler review so I will not be pointing things out. Another thing is the kills are not like Halloween or scream where the characters that die are important or special. And there not kills people would be like "omg" or anything like that. So overall 4/10.
