Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)

um............wow

okay I don't know what I was expecting but this surpasses it....it starts off as quite a bit of a comedy but then it changes to a cross between Jacobs ladder and the standard romantic comedy if u can rap your head around that. I feel this film is made by the central performances by Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet who are to say the least phenomenal. I actually thought that the supporting cast was underused as they are all good. And I loved the ending. I would have loved to have seen this in the cinema so I could have experienced the full audio and visual experience of this gorgeous film. 10/10 this film is the ultimate romantic comedy.

Shaun of the Dead (2004)

Gut Wrenching Comedy

I was really looking forward to see this.....and it was better than I ever thought. It has some genuine belly laughs as well as a couple of chuckles. The gore for all you gore hounds out there is very good (especially when David is being pulled through the pub window and gets his guts ripped out that was rather gory I though)

It's basically about a guy named Shaun (simon pegg) and his failed life and who is so wrapped up in his own life he doesn't notice that the dead are rising.

I never really sore spaced although on the strength of this film I think I might go out and buy them. 9 out of 10

Donnie Darko (2001)

Quite frankly i was disappointed with this film. I had heard loads of people saying how great it was and read on imdb that it was one of the best films ever made and quite frankly it was very average. It tries way to hard to be weird and way to hard to be cool. It seemed to purposfully try to confuse the viewer.Other films have already done this with the not being able to distinguish fantasy from reality that are much better than this. This just and average film that i really wonted to adore but in the end though that it was nothing special. 5 out of 10

Clerks (1994)

Brilliant

I had seen all of Kevin smiths other films and I didn't think this could be funnier than mallrats or have more swearing than jay and silent bob oh I've never bin so glad to be wrong. This is without doubt the funniest movie I have ever seen, Dante and Randal are brilliant and should go down as one of the great double acts. I feel that I can appreciate the film more for the fact that I have see the others the fact u can c the birth of jay and silent bob even if silent bob doesn't look any different. It is truly painful the way Randal just abuse the customers without a second thought and u feel for Dante because he is such a looser it's it funny. Yes it's black and white yes it's got blotches on the film but if u can look past that you will find a truly superb flim and coming from me it is truly high praise I only gave shawshank 9 but I'm giving this a 10 it is truly fitting that this is the original vision for the view askew universe as it is the best.

Bulletproof Monk (2003)

A good film

It wont change the world but I feel that watching this movie was not a waste of my time. It's entertaining and in some places rather funny. So what if Sean William Scott isn't the greatest actor ever he's more than suitable for the of kar a petty thief who runs into the "bullet proof" monk played as always with charm buy Chow Yun Fat (or Yun Fat Chow whatever u wont to say). There are only two real criticisms I have about this film the first is that I felt that the Kar/Monk relationship could have been built upon a bit more, when Kar says (just after monk has been kidnapped) Monk is the only family I've got I though but u only new him a few days, if they were supposed to had trained even for a few weeks I could had believed there bond a bit better. The second is that the villain was rather weak. His grandchild would have made a better on her own that bye taking orders from an old megalomaniac. All in all put fun doesn't bring anything new but it doesn't try to 7/10.

They Live (1988)

Fantastic fun

I didn't really know what the expect from this film, although a bit of a slow starter it turns into massive amounts of fun. The acting is more than adequate, Piper is actually pretty good he seem to have such fun portraying Nada who you can see the character of Duke Nukem was created from right down to the quotes. It's a B-move plane and simple so much so I kept expecting to see Bruce Campbell pop up as one of the aliens though sadly he doesn't. At times it can be quite disturbing the aliens do actually look quite frightening the first time u see one and as another reviewer said the world is just a bit to much like or own. Words do fail me to describe this film it's gotta be seen by anyone who likes John Carpenter or just screwed up films with a real sense of humour. 8.5 out of 10

American Pie 2 (2001)

(Possible spoilers) I was dubious at best about this movie I had not enjoyed the 1st one that much so I didn't really know what to expect. From the 1st scene where Jims dad walks in on him having sex I was laughing. 3 reasons why this movie works so much better that the 1st one is that Jason Biggs (Jim) is allowed to do more physical slapstick humour which he pulls off perfectly in the glue scene which was almost completely improvised. The other 2 major reasons for this film appealing to me are 1) more stiffler.......ahhhhhh stiffler the funniest character ever is giving a leading role and has some of the best lines those of u who have seen it will know "yes the force is strong in that one" had me almost crying with laughter. The second reason is Michelle (the absolutely stunning Alyson Hannigan) is also given a much more substantial roll in this flick than in the 1st pie.

All in all there is no finer film of its type that I know about.There is not a moment that I failed to like in this move....9.5 out of 10....Brilliant

Romper Stomper (1992)

Brutal

This film shocked me. If you've seen American History X and think you know what to expect think again, there is no great change in moral conciseness, no talks about "why are we doing this" no this film has none of the intellect of am hist x. Some people may see that as a bad thing but I don't, this film travels along at break neck speed until it hits the self destruct button in the "battle" between the skins and the viatmenese, this is without doubt one of the most brutal fight seine's ever on celluloid, you'll find yourself wincing as hando, davey and the others fight the brutal kicks to the ribs are especially painful to watch. Crowe is truly brutal as the gang of skin heads viscous leader Hando, Daniel Polock is magnificent as Davey you can feel the conflict in his heart between his best friend and the women he loves.

Anybody who doesn't mind watching a film with such strong seens of violence I recommend it if not you wont get past the first few minutes. 8/10

Ring 2 (1999)

better than i thought it was going to be

Possible Spoilers There is no sence comparing this film with the first one they are completely different movies. The first movie is an exercise in horror and scaredthe crap out of me, the sequel (although there are a number of scary scenes, when they see the manifestation of sadako and her mother for example) is more of a thriller come mystery movie. The only really major disappointment in this movie is how sadako is manifested, in the first she was a faceless unstoppable force but in the sequel (except the scene in the well when she is quite literally faceless) she is portrade as a normallish girl........just a disapointment.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS Without doubt the best horror film ever made. The feeling of underlying evil within this film surpasses any other film you would care to mention. The seen where, u can almost physically feal the evil trying to escape the TV set is without doubt one of the most disturbing portions of any film . In most horror films u want to see the killer, kill again but not this film..........u r begging for her not to appear. The acting is worthy and the looks suit the mood of the film to a T. At the end it will leave u breathless terrified but wanting more..... 10 out of 10 has immediately gone onto my top 10 of all time. WOW

End of Days (1999)

Surprising

What can i say, i got the film expecting another Arny film with bark but no bite boy was i wrong. With Gabriel Burn playing the second best devil in any motion picture (only Al Pacino in Devils Advocate beats him) this is pure cinematic joy for any action junky or for anyone who loves a well written film i highly recommended it. P.S Gabriel Burn is Awesome as The Man

The Hitcher (1986)

O yeah now this is what i call a film. With a blood chilling performance by Rutgeur Hauer this is with out doubt one of the most chilling and violent films you will ever see.

A truly excellent movie and a roller coaster ride of fear,loathing and hatred. Sit back and enjoy

Fargo (1996)

O my god u people actually like this movie

The is without dout one of the worse films it has ever been my misfortune to view and the fact that Frances McDormand one an award let alone an Academy award for one the most annoying and pig head role ever created. There voices grate on your very soul, i understand that it is there regional dialect but could they please just stop the torture.........

If the ratings went below 1 i would had given this a minus.
