Edmond (2005)
It was a night ... a descent into hell.
That of a man, who did nothing but sex, leaving her daily life ... Or it would not be in its place.
William.H.Macy, is perfect in the role of the man "Edmond", which also gives her name under the film, which during that hot night will live in a world ... Or is simply not actually its place.
Night that will change as soon as the transition from the seer, one thing is Edmond is a feeble-minded, weak, and the desire for sex and sex itself will harden (Not bad, as a metaphor for sex always cure a man), harden, but especially so to make him lose his reason become too hard.
The film, dealing primarily a weak-minded, non self-confidence, a man will acquire the price of his freedom.
And if this night is exciting, as soon as it ends, and the box shows its face prison, it becomes at once much less exciting For me, without laying a "happy ending", the film should have stayed on the concept that is, a man who discovers the world of the night world is not for him. Otherwise, it should be noted very good supporting role, and everyone does his or skit show.
- Joe Mantegna, and his little conversation with William.H.Macy very important later in the story.
- Bai Ling, admittedly brief appearance, but makes its appearance because it has the ideal physique for this role.
Etc ... But now, my rating is 6,since the passage in prison, although somewhat justified me out of the film.
The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans (2009)
A different view
A different vision of the masterpiece of Abel Ferrara, which contains just the title, or rather a part of the title. Which also includes two of the original work, namely: - The character of the whore (And even if Eva Mendes is doing pretty well in the shoes of this character, no matter what other actress could have been interpreted, we would have seen no difference) - The dependence of the Lieutenant for the game and one for drugs. (Addiction to drugs or here unlike the original, we learn why and how).
I talked to Eva Mendes and her character, other characters are talking now and then that famous first Lieutenant, and although say except that Nicolas Cage is in great shape and gives us a very good performance. The supporting cast, when to them, we each made their small number and it works very well since they each have their share of importance is to advance the course of history, or to show us the evil of Lieutenant (include, this couple out of the nightclub, for example).
The perversity of Lieutenant precisely, I think that's what did the angle chosen by Herzog for his film, or Ferrara opted for a descent into hell (with a dose of perversity as though). For even if the version of Herzog, is not a children's story, it is not as dark as the vision of Ferrara. However, the dark side of the original, leaving an important place here in the next entertaining, very pleasant.
To sum up, although it is not a masterpiece like its predecessor, the 2009 film version proves to be entertaining, disturbing for some time and especially with a four-star cast, X-Zibit perfect in the role of "Big Fate," The emergence of Fairuza Balk is nice to see (and not just because she is in lingerie for that matter) ... In short, I do not see it as a simple remake, just a different story in a different place, it is very well placed in a Lieutenant to another destination for a possible sequel that, like this one can not spit not on the 1992 version.
I Know Who Killed Me (2007)
Really underrated
Maybe for a few that are missed but never in the film is forgivable. For others, I remain convinced that the bad reviews and ratings are just for the hate to Lindsay Lohan.
Lindsay Lohan, who nevertheless is doing very well here, even if another actress could play the role, and it's almost assumed that the critics would have flipped. However, I sincerely believe that the choice of Lindsay's a good idea, so may have noted that "his" role suits him like a glove.
Come in the film and its inspirations, inspirations coming from as well as the "Giallo," the great Brian DePalma, with a dose of Hitchcock. It gets worse as an influence, right? So if you like "Giallo," DePalma, Hitchcock, and film of the 70s, do not miss out above and given a chance or second chance (for another) to the film.
Still on the film, I will also mention the atmosphere particularly disturbing (Again if you like this kind of atmosphere, you will be served). So much blood flows here, so not a single "Thriller" formatted as many, sometimes these bloody scenes are also quite challenging.Challenging, certainly, but still used mostly in the plot.
The unfolding of the plot, which frankly attracted by its influences so, but because as I said before the film is not formatted it is not heated or otherwise seen.At least to what is seen in recent years.
By cons, it's a little more final, which some compared to the entire film. If the final (even if it is not what it is worse in final) had reached the level of the rest of the film, there was a small masterpiece.
In short, this film did not deserve a Razzie, so in the year 2007, it must have been much worse and much more formatted, on the big screen.
Bones (2001)
Very average, while ...
While at first, the film would be more inspired by the "Blaxpoitation" no doubt the result would have had any other (much more importantly, of course).
Here are just a hint of "Blaxploitation". Suspicion is the right word because for fans of this genre (like me), since the rest of the film is really in the horror classic, seen many times (even worseby the way, good for Bones ). Bones are talking about, we feel greatly inspired by Freddy Krueger. Except that in contrast to Krueger, who would iconise Bones after vision, sadly missing the boat.
Whose fault is it, what? Try to answer them, mentioning Snoop Dogg (Very average,as usual as an actor) who really tons (But not the Actors Studio's for sure). In short we made the Snoop Dogg, or is an actor, a true, would have more charisma (like all the heroes of Blaxploitation) the character and create a real character in itself.
Snoop Dogg has to just stay a fan of the genre "Blaxploitation" but he never will be an icon.
Otherwise the film is far from bad, the past of Bones is the best route according to the film.
After it's like I said before already seen the (Including, some good ideas).
As for the director, he does not sign by his best film, which for me is none other than "Surviving The Game", but signs with "Bones" means a film that with a director in full possession of his could give a result equal to "Surviving The Game".
Halloween: Resurrection (2002)
Bad, even in the concept.
Concept that is so basically, introducing Michael Myers in the world of reality TV. And the film looks more like a reality TV show has a Halloween episode of the saga.
Already started, the writers came saddled with the film trying to explain why and how Myers is still alive (Which is simply to spit on the previous episode, namely H20).
Then the concept of the saga, is itself the victim of a spit (as Myers arrives at the beginning of the film indeed his goal, I would not say more, however, on its "fine").
So why then he returns to Haddonfield? Does he want an autograph by Busta Rhymes? Not at all, the writers have not had to do with Myers, a music lover. Let's go to Busta Rhymes, therefore, is very excited to be part of, but whose performance is not at all enthusiastic. Basically the character of Busta Rhymes is a manufacturer and a fan of Bruce Lee, it is almost the only features of his character, but surely the role of composition in his eyes.
Other casting error, with a role which slows the film more than anything else, namely: Ryan Merriman, in the role of Myles, Myles so that at a party disguised as Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction, one of the best ideas of the film, making a nod to Pulp Fiction (because we said to forget what turnip Halloween Resurrection, may have always admired what's masterpiece Pulp Fiction), Small problem Ryan Merriman did not have the charisma of John Travolta.
Bruce lee,Pulp Fiction longer a reality TV show .... Forgot the first two, it'smore like the last, a big reality TV show of horror (in every sense),horror and boredom. In short, for me the worst episode of the saga, but not bad for a reality TV show (because of boredom before this film is the same) ...
The Last Exorcism (2010)
At the top of the basket of the "mockumentary"
Top of the basket, with of course "Cannibal Holocaust", "Cloverfield", "REC" , "Behind the mask : The rise of Leslie Vernon " , and the underrated "The Last Broadcast" .
Really a very pleasant surprise, that you appreciate the genre "mockumentary" or not (Personally, I love). Already, the first important point, the character of Cotton Marcus, we are very well presented. So necessarily, the focus is the character (which has all the characteristics of business, so the expertise in this area). And actor Patrick Fabian, asserted in that role (indeed, the world of cinema will more often rely on him).
To return to the performance of actor Ashley Bell who plays Nell, also is doing very well ... And I've bet you have not heard the last of her.
And besides, made a Nell, in turn, captivating, frightening, hateful and a whole range of emotion (in the image of Cotton), the actress comes with this performance so full of contrast, our induce error again and again (I said no more).
Another very important point, when liked a movie, have not seen the time go by and here is clearly the case (especially since the footage is very short).
In addition, the revoyure, or simply by rethinking the film we soon realize that every little detail or plan camera to its importance (just cited, only one: the close-up on an ear of the son of Cotton) .
About the director Daniel Stamm, eager to discover his future project (if this chance, what I want). Eli Roth, when its really getting better as a producer (he is already a very good director). In short, a small, classic horror by some years, but large in the mockumentary genre.
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009)
Simply entertain
For if we look more closely at the "details" kind of love story between Duke (Channing Tatum, who it is obvious here, is not a great actor) and Baron (Sienna Miller) it must be said that history deserves to be better exploited since the state would have been better was deleted. Finally, the goal is to entertain, that the film largely succeeds even if some are missed sfx it poses no problem as the final action scenes succeed and Marlon Wayans fulfills his contract to do his show in the role of Ripcord (which over the film gradually wins the heart of Scarlett (Rachel Nichols) between them and the sauce is also much better than the history between Duke and Baron, because between them is not entertain but to add some dramatic tension to the film, which does however not for a moment as I already said the next fun and entertaining wins hands down on everything else).
If not, move on, the two characters ninja, Storm Shadow (Byung-hun Lee) and Snake Eyes (Ray Park) provide much of the show and ultimately steal the rest of the cast. So I would say in conclusion that the film meets the specifications that Stephen Sommers makes of Stephen Sommers handles well enough that he toys with his hands.
In Bruges (2008)
Excellent, Brilliant, Wonderful
Voila, as adjectives (and I probably forgot) to describe this trip to Bruges. For even if this is not the first time it shows us that the killers are not only machines but also have feelings, here the angle chosen to tell the story of these two killers out completely because of the ordinary. Indeed, already begin interpreting the duo Ray (Colin Farrell) / Ken (Brendan Gleeson) works well and both players have very good chemistry, as is also too rare. And what is cast, the supporting actors are all so well written and not allow for accounts (such as Jimmy (Jordan Prentice) who has a key role in the denouement of the plot), in fact each character is here to advance the story, no one is left behind at the plot or set listed regarding dialogs tasty (Ralph Fiennes and his foul language is an important effect on this) The relationship between Ray and Ken, to return to the duo gave me the impression of a father / son. And it is felt more gradually as the plot or advance, Ken knew very well "evil" that eats Ray wants this trip to change his ideas to start and then eventually the cure of that evil in his own risk, as a father to his son. A city of fairy tale to include Ralph Fiennes in a moment of the film with this story of impossible love between Ray and Chloe, with her hero (Ken) loan has defied any danger to nothing happens to his protégé (Ray), and this gallery of colorful characters have said that this city was ideal because it is indeed a modern fairy tale that we are witnessing. I would add that sometimes it is very difficult to keep from shedding a tear.
Friday the 13th (2009)
Above certain chapters of the saga
But in no way a remake of the first film, which was a pure slasher and hard, with unknown identity of the killer until the final. But if you look like a replay, or the writers are reclaiming myth when we pass a good time very entertaining. Including very good ideas, such as traps in the forest, or Jason taking one captive female characters. Although these ideas have nothing innovative in the cinema of horror, however, they provide a little more because if the film would have had a certain image of the aftermath of the saga was the worst was feared. When a Marcus Nispel, the radius remake it far outperforms its reading of TCM, with this film which is not very difficult indeed as a pack of horror productions are better than this remake of TCM. All to say that radius remake, we find much worse than this Friday the 13th has the merit of diverting more of a blow with dust has a wise man who badly needed.
Brüno (2009)
The Comedy of 2009
The comedy of 2009
Like Borat, Sacha Baron Cohen arrives at making the most detestable characters endearing. This is just his specialty besides going back for a little later I could quote Ali G, Larry Charles not signed but with the scenario already meets this Sacha Baron Cohen and Dan Mazer so. Besides being a hilarious comedy, one can also see a beautiful love story. Also take some in their ranks, has the image of all its stars who swear by adoption. And some parents (like those desperate to whether their children are selected at the photo shoot). So voilà a whole film that provides for all levels and (to laugh, move and how not to be so in love Lutz believes that Bruno first error as a purely sexual, and that the tape or it hurts) .
