West Side Story (2021)

Deeper characters yet not endearing

Extremely difficult to improve an Oscar winning classic and Spielberg tries but doesn't succeed However that said it is still an enjoyable film and the music is beyond compare The stars in the 1961 film outshine one's from today but perhaps the younger generation that are viewing the film for the first time will disagree Fairly good rendition of West Side NY in 1957 however even the great Spielberg has an Old Look GM bus in Gray and white New Jersey Public Service livery driving by in the background which is a no no in NY. All the additional elaborate costly scenes still don't improve the film. One thing that is done well is the elaborating of Tony and Maria's romance which helps See it and enjoy it!

Eastern European Bad Guys

Not bad for a Russian viewpoint We have seen so many Italian mob stories where we get into the private affairs of the leading parties so why not the Russians now. Leading man is set up goes to prison and finishes off all responsible while losing his wife Standard affair with some recognizable actors from other movie's especially the father from Taken 2 You know Marco from Tropoja. Enjoyable.

Affleck, Hathaway stared on what ? You need a playbook to follow this! Back when Regan was president and good but then got tied to Sandanistas and turned bad but who played Oliver Stone? Bottom line GARBAGE.

Quick little movie trying to depict the 4 year series from the Sixties but failing for anyone who was a fan of the series Ford and Jones are good actors and work off each other well however 3 or 4 near escapes before Kimble figures everything out and solves the crime while beating up anyone in his path as a Doctor doesn't cut it OK if you know nothing about its origin.

Revenge theme deep into movie Arnie getting old but still able to deliver as an older guy Not as good as Eastwood but pretty damn good! Olivia Williams as used incorruptible detective is good. Crazy female drug using member played by Mareille Enos surprises at the end. Good action escapism.

Interesting NYC setting for Kate aa she kicks ass all over the City from borough to borough. Bad guys, lovers Cops doesn't matter who Escapism at it's best. Only thing that can stop her is the electrode vest Kate looking good as a blonde too!

Good twist that slowly turns with good performances by the two leading blondes Much better than the typical Lifetime movie of this genre Natasha gives a particularly good portrayal of the disturbed sister Unhinged comes to mind. Stay tuned because it changes.

Frankenstein meets Godfather

Let me get this straight a 60 year old man gets shot 22 times emerges looking like Frankenstein with an immobile right hand,but can ride a dirt bike better than Evel Knievel Later the immortal kills the five o'clock shadow gang one by one. Not to be outdone his own 5 O clock shadow gang helps in the fray By this time, who knows who is who and the petite blonde cop is just a throw in. Confused yet? Beyond that we have a Pavoratti score in background Can we get more cliche especially at the end when the Don,Jean Reno, finds peace with his family while an opera plays The romantic French language does not lend itself well to the Brooklynese Mob dialogue

Half way through this bore the only thing that kept me awake was the hope that Cranston's character had his brains blown out Despicable! the only thing more obvious is if he had the briefcase handcuffed to his hand inspector gadget would be less obvious

Only the bad guys get killed in this farce Good guys and girls can be shot smashed kicked knifed crushed shot choked and cuffed but they all survive but bad guys bodies are spread everywhere Could have been OK if a little more realism existed C'mon please This is kids stuff

Siblings try and reconnect but 9/11 cuts it short. An important message to all family members that let petty differences create a riff that may never be solved. Andrea McArdle of Annie fame stars as Sloan the sister who is separated from her only brother because of work related differences. Walter played by Jarrod Emick has a childhood memory of his sister and with the prodding of his fiancé Caley played by Erin Cronican tries to reconcile upon returning to the City from the Hamptons, As happened to thousands that day in the wake of terrorism they never connect again as the living. Nicely directed by Joe Segura. Short,Sad and Sweet.

Beautiful Brooke

Funny, funny episode about sexy new neighbor Danielle played by the beautiful Brooke Shields. Brooke turns out to be quite the comedienne. Excellent work by her as she drinks up glasses of liquor while visiting her neighbors and before long is coming on to Charlie. Brooke has a body that is fantastic and she certainly is convincing as a sexy drunken slut. As usual one track mind Charlie is all about bedding anything that walks regardless if he was trying to set up his "roommate" Mainly for Brooke fans and she does deliver. Brooke must be in her glory now with the big emphasis on eyebrows lately. Other than Brooke run of the mill, Charlie trash.

Raze (2013)

Sometime you wonder where the money comes from to make this kind of movie. Do they think they are making an investment. What trash. Hard to imagine the once beautiful but now not so much, Sherilynn Fenn stooping to this level of film. No plot other than 50 women fighting to the death against each other one by one to save loved ones supposedly in danger from this same evil group forcing them under captivity. You can't make it up. Your only hope is that one of them escapes this loonesy and has revenge which is what Zoe Bell accomplishes but not without her own damnation. Merely OK for women fighting women buffs. The rest of the cast is forgettable. Bell has become somewhat of a heroine in these movies and she does deliver but remember their is no redeeming social value in any of her films.

Ultraviolet (2006)

I like Milla Jovovich that is why I watched this movie but what a mistake. This is just horrible. My sons and 8 year old daughter also thought this movie was a total waste of time. My daughter who loves heroines thought it was a cartoon. Just watch the girl kill 20 armed men in about 10 seconds. Very little plot. You do not even realize that Ultraviolet is a vampire until later on in the movie. When young children pooh pooh a movie you know it is bad especially when it is geared towards them. Is Hollywood so uninspired to just make Matrix like films with people jumping through the moon ala Michael Jordan but with no athletic ability to do so.. Not one once of credibility is given before actors are leaping all over the place in a mindless dance . Do not waste your time on this trash.
