Barry (II) (2016)

I only saw this for Anya Taylor Joy

So while I get what they were trying to do, the moments that fall flat are when they force the "political, racial chatter" where the actor forced to copy Barracks pattern of talking. While I understand to capture the image more it just didn't work for me. It felt more like am imitation than a natural performance.

The highlight of the film are when the characters felt like they weren't acting just being natural and real. Anya Taylor Joy gave another stellar performance in a mediocre film. Avi Nash that portrays Saleem gives great comic relief he definitely adds to the film for when its trying to take itself too seriously. Definitely wouldn't say this has any rewatchability. Unless you are a fan of ATJ or any of the other actors I'd say skip it.

Five Nights at Freddy's (2023)

Another Bad Day for Video Game Movie

For starters I never got to play the games, however I heard of them and they peaked my interest so thought I'd give the movie a chance. Right out the gate PG13 horror sets the tone & lowers the bar.

This should have been a fun 90-100 min run time we are instead subjected to two hours of this scareless forced story that feels longer than it is. We really didn't need the subplot with the dream sequences. The robots looked fairly true to the game so that's appreciated. The acting was subpar. I'm not sure how true to game this story is but it didn't sell me on the games to be honest.

I will say anyone who's looking for a similar setting and simplified plot I'd recommend Willys Wonderland it's the 90minute R Rated version that didn't take itself too serious & in the end was a better movie.

Five Nights at Freddy's I'd say is not worth your time or money.

The first movie while not great was light, fun, characters were charming, quirky, just a fun movie to watch not one I'd pop in on a rotation. But with fam just something to kill a couple hours.

On this third outing I want to know who the hell green lit this mess. The lazy half baked ideas that created the "plot" left me questioning why are we here? Who is this really about? Why did every scene for the first act felt like a constant setup scene for unfunny monologs or joke that fell so flat I forgot this was a comedy. Every single scene & moment felt so forced from everyone. Then again little was given to them to work with so obviously they had to try to seem like they want to be there.

The characters were 1 dimensional stereotypes. Suggest to someone youd like to annoy.

Halloween Ends (2022)

So it's ok & bad all at the same time

So here we have the finale of a poorly constructed Greene Trilogy. The movie was entertaining and could've been fine had it not the title Halloween attached to it. I was fine with the story of Corey & Evil & Twisted Broken Romance. It was fine & then they managed to combine that with Halloween and morphing it into a Splinter & The Ninja Turtle style bond between Michael and this Corey character. They didn't have enough material to be a true Trilogy. It could've been Halloween original, 2018, and if they merged Halloween Kills & Ends into 1 movie. Honestly it's different and can be entertaining but True Halloween are going to be left with a very bitter taste after watching this. Glad I ordered on Prime Video instead paying theater price.

What used to be a great drama that brought you into the world of surgery that gave you characters you liked, rooted for, turned into a woke, agenda based, soap cliché. Where the medical drama aspect was the focus is now not even a factor. Now surgeries are a chance to play the newest pop song and blast through it. I hate the new interns and residents they dont have the charm or personality. They are stock characters to fill in their quota. I heard Meredith was leaving & it's safe to say where it started with her this show should've ended with her. I can say the last 4-5 seasons have been the worst & dragged this show to bottom. In the beginning this show was 10/10 for me. But now the last few seasons have dragged this down to a sad 5/10 I haven't looked forward to an episode in a long time. What was entertainment is now a chore.

Season 1 & 2 are good. Season 3 doesn't have the momentum of the first 2 seasons but, my biggest gripe was the music choices kept taking me out of the intense scenes. It was so infuriating. I hope they fired the one in charge of music for season 4.

Enola Holmes (2020)

Millie B Brown Charms her way through a dull movie

Millie B Brown is fantastic, charming, charismatic & is the highlight of this dull lifeless movie. This film is 30 minutes too long & could not care less about the "useless boys" storyline.

This film could've been a great mystery looking for her mother. Instead this a chore to get through. Superman wasn't able to superhero his way out of this lifeless performance.

This is a hard skip.

Stranger Things (2016–2025)

For Once The Hype is Real.....

I didn't have much interest when it first came out. I took me until the release and ads of Season 4 that sparked my interest.

Here we have a near perfect show, one that surprised me with a shockingly connecting every season turned out to be.

The characters are hard not to love, the nods to nostalgia, I didn't expect the 80's to be a backdrop I was going to love for this show.

The stand out characters for me are definitely Nancy, Steve, Robin, Lucas, Max, & most importantly Eleven. The rest have their moments but these were my top. I would say the weakest & most annoying character is Will.

Each seasons major monster were greatly imaginative I felt like this show gave me an 80's X-Files, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Goonies all wrapped into one. I cannot recommend this show enough.

Looking forward to season 5.

Little Italy (2018)

There's Gordon Ramsay & Then you have Olive Garden

You have Culinary 5 Star Dishes that are amazing. Then you have Olive Garden where the food is ok but it gets you by and that is the best way to describe this movie. It is The Olive Garden of Rom-Coms. It's enjoyable, funny, but it's nothing to breaks new ground or award winning. My Fiancé she wanted to see it so I gave in. In a nutshell childhood bestfriends have feelings and the families have a pizza shop rivalry and thus it keeps them apart in a way.

I always found Emma Roberts attractive so that was a big seller. She was the best part of the movie. Aside from her the families in the movie were very funny in their antics.

The weakest point is the performance from Hayden Christensen his Italian accent felt like the fake cliché Italian gangster movie. It was really unconvincing & honestly annoying. Anyone else would've been better. The chemistry felt forced and almost one sided. The chemistry wasn't really there & blame it mostly Hayden his performance was very 1 dimensional leaving Emma not much to work with.

With this said the movie is still an enjoyable time killer rom-com. I feel it focuses more on the comedy than the romance which works here. So anyone can enjoy just dont go in it looking for oscar performances but just a light, charming, good feel movie, for a night.

Gilmore Girls (2000–2007)

A Pleasant Surprise

My Fiancé is a huge fan of this show and she asked me one day to watch it give it a shot. She had asked me in the past & said no but for some reason I gave in and all it took was one episode and I was instantly hooked.

I just finished the series last night & despite it being an obviously more female targeted show I loved the show. The characters Lorelai, Rory, Luke especially are some of the most likable characters I've come across on a show. While likable they are flawed on a realistic level and that is important to make the show worthwhile. I will also say that Paris has a great character arc for the 7 seasons.

Stars Hollow is a character on it's own its a welcoming, warm, & quirky small town one that you almost wish was real. The other people in town add character & personality to the town that you feel you can find in real life & I feel that is what makes it fun.

The show definitely can appeal to anyone given the chance. The witty banter between the characters makes it never a dull moment. The bond between Lorelai & Rory is one of the best aspects of the show. While seperate they are great but together they are epic.

I can say Season 6 didn't sit well with me & the final episode of the show was not the most satisfying it was still enough for me to say this is one of my top favorite shows of all time. I definitely can say it has high rewatchability.

Guys if your girl asks you to watch it give it a chance.

The Beach Bum (2019)

They Forgot the Humor.... Spoilers

I laughed a total of 4xs in the 1.5 hour run time. With a cast like McConaughey, Fisher, Snoop, Efron, Hill, & Lawrence I expected SOME effort. I feel majority of the cast are seriously underutilized. If you seen it this feels like a sequel to Surfer, Dude.

McConaughey is himself in all his McConaugheyness, basically he's a stoner & his main goal is to write a book in order to get his part of his wife's will & then antics happen. Fisher is killed off in the first act we don't get to enjoy her for long but she's charming as always, Snoop is there for the first & last act. Not very funny but sets that very Snoop Dogg Coolness. Hill isn't memorable. Efron while he's a solid actor for some reason they decided to turn him into a Tony the Tiger Frosted Flakes look alike that meets McConaughey in rehab. We get him for maybe a whopping 7-9mins of screen time, with him being on the cover you'd think he'd be an intricate character. Martin Lawrence has a small role where he meets some sharks. I'd say this was a waste of 1.5hour & $4. I really don't recommend this movie to anyone.

Firestarter (2022)

Enjoyable Scifi-Thriller

Enjoyable popcorn movie, great performances, my biggest issue with it is the lack of character development for both Zac Efron character the Charlie & the "Villain" hunting them. It at times felt it was just trying to lead to the next fire scene. One issue I think people have is this Firestarter is not really a horror movie but more of a scifi-super hero type esque movie. There was alot of creative freedom one could've had and made a better movie.

I enjoyed it but the ending leaves you a little unsatisfied almost cliffhanger but not exactly. While I haven't seen the original I'm reviewing this film as a stand alone and taking at face value. Fans of the original may have stronger opinions.

Gold (I) (2022)

Gritty Dystopian Survival Movie

Zac Efron has become one of my favorite actors. This was a movie I knew nothing about. There was basically no advertising for this so aside from finding Gold i really not sure of what I was going to get. I end up getting a raw performance from Zac Efron who carries the film, a very atmospheric film that you get drawn into this world, where the world has hit a new low level of morale, trust is non-existent, . With the color tones made me think of The Book of Eli. But man vs nature vs greed vs Will To Survive. It's very intense and will definitely not be for the average movie goer. But I wish I saw this in theaters because this is an experience. Highly recommended.

Mind Bending Insanity

You come to this movie intrigued, confused, & unarmed. You walkout of it at the end from a visual mental raping that you just almost exhausted from at the end. In a good way.

Its unique and easily one of Aronofsky best films since Requiem for a Dream. The hate around this film makes no sense, as the acting is superb, story mysterious & shocking. You don't really realize who these characters are and that is a great aspect. You are constantly questioning.

Easily a great horror, suspense, mystery, drama, fantasy(depending on the person) the multi-genre is fantastic.

Blade Runner (1982)

Not What I was Expecting

As I did not see this movie in its prime but did see Blade Runner 2049 in theatres before ever seeing the first film it could play a factor in my opinion. Now the version I saw was The Final Cut I haven't seen the theatrical release or directors cut version. However the film story seemed very straight forward A Blade Runner must kill all Replicants and as a Detective essentially he goes about his assignment. I am not a Harrison Ford fan by any means I like Star Wars & Indiana Jones but this was a solid performance from Forward. He definitely captures the character very well.

However I felt even for a under 2 hour movie this felt like a dull drag. I was intrigued at first and then slowly it began to kind of drag on and I felt somewhat losing interest. I am a huge fan of indie films and strange films but this film just didnt vibe with me.

When the we get to the final act and the final face off if you will the way The Final Cut decides to wrap up felt so underwhelming. I do not always need an epic action filled ending but the way this wraps up just left me with "That's it?".

The pros of this film is Fords performance and the special effects for its time was seriously impressive. The world they take into gives you typical film noir with a sci-fi flare. The world itself feels like a character on its own. But ultimately the delivery, pacing, and story just does not meet the expectations especially with the hype and fan base behind this film. Again I couldve been because I watched Blade Runner 2049 first, I waited too long to see it, or maybe I watched the wrong version for myself. But I wasn't entertained enough to watch the other 2 versions to find out.

Seberg (2019)

Just Some Political Hippie Bullcrap

Kristen Stewart gives a good performance in a crap movie. That's all there is to it, for being a real story utterly dull. I would've turned it off earlier but my Fiancé loves Kristen Stewart. This is just another political hippie movie that i think we need less of. We didn't need this story & Kristen Stewart deserves better.

I am not a fan of musicals but my Fiancé asked me to watch it to so I tried to be open minded. The songs are lazy, generic, and some just very unoriginal. Now I'm glad the movie wasn't longer than it was but weirdly enough it just feels like a constant rush to get to the next song with 0 priority to the actual story and characters, which when you get to them they're not special. The performances were far from spectacular from the rush to get to the next song there's no time to care about the characters. It's just a bloated waste of a movie there's a chance this could've been better as a normal non-musical movie

Silver Linings Playbook (2012)

An Amazing Movie.

This film has everything. There is beautifully written script that held fantastic off-beat humor, and flawless acting that I believe was by the entire cast. Bradley Cooper has given a performance that I think a lot of people never expected by that guy from The Hangover. Jennifer Lawrence gave a performance so fantastic that I think she is going to be a great actress to follow for years. Robert De Niro was well Robert De Niro he was fantastic as always. Chris Tucker was fantastic in his small but hysterical role.

I can say if you want to watch a off-beat comedy with excellent dramatic acting in a exceptional script do not hesitate to watch this beautiful film. This is a film that can make people that are having a bad day be happy. It can easily be in my top 10 films of favorite movies of all time Honestly.

The Avengers (2012)

It is very much save to say that only truly super hero addicts will love this. I don't read the comics anymore because Id rather read a book or watch a movie could be my age as well.

This is overrated beyond all ends. The villain is annoying beyond all ends. Because you have to incorporate so many characters you have to cram all this crap into one movie and personally the individual films are much better. This felt like an overdose of flashy sh*t everywhere and the story is rather dull.

I went in this movie with high hopes because I on occasion enjoy super hero movies. My favorites have to be the Tim Burton & Christopher Nolan Batman films. Those were fantastic. This is a mess. With over two hours of flashy ridiculous plot twists and cgi up the a** only Super Hero, Comic Book, Addicts and little kids will really appreciate this. If you have a brain and want more realism in a film avoid this crap aside.

I gave it a 5 because some of the special effects were impressive and some of the action was cool and lets be real Scarlett Johanson is hot as hell. But this movie barely qualifies as a 5. You want a true action film with a super hero taste go with The Dark Knight or Batman Begins.

White House Down (2013)

So I have read a few reviews on here and I think people have forgotten what its like to go to a movie and have just a good time. I can honestly say that I had an amazing time watching this movie! This had everything a summer blockbuster is supposed to be. You have two very likable main characters. Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx have fantastic chemistry. Then you have explosive action with fantastic special effects. One of the things that I found to be surprising is just the fact that this film had tons of plot twists. At times I wasn't even ready for a plot twist before I found myself mind blown! Then you have more coming down the road. One of the things I thought was extremely enjoyable was the fact that Tatum's daughter wasn't like most "my child is held hostage" films because she actually is a relevant character and is interesting to watch. A child role that is not at all useless she actually plays a nice role in the film and makes it more entertaining. If you enjoy action packed summer blockbusters check this one out. I can honestly say you will have a good time.

The Fourth Kind (2009)

Absorbing, Intense, & Absolutely Terrifying

I love Milla Jovovich in this film she is a spectacular actresses. I will that this movie was unforgettable. You have a psychologist helping all of her clients who apparently at one stage at a time are getting contacted by some kind of alien race that may or may not lead to some kind of abduction. In the process the psychologist has her own demons that interlock with her clients and so we have our film. It was done exceptionally well through the combination of traditional film and documentary content. I can honestly say that this is without a doubt interesting, absorbing, intense and if you allow yourself as I do to get completely consumed into a film to a film to the point it can almost feel real to you then it is definitely going to be completely terrifying. I just finished watching it and believe me when I tell I at the moment actually am shaking a bit. This film completely freaked me out.

This is how I should've felt out of The Exorcism of Emily Rose........ that film didn't even come close to this one.

Rid of Me (2011)

This is just an hour & a half of endless pile of awkward

Honestly its entertaining enough with a few big laughs but if you can handle humor based on making you the viewer undeniably uncomfortable you'll love this film. So prepare to be ultimately uncomfortable , and absolutely violated, because no other film can do this. This isn't exactly something for just about anybody because some people either just wont get it or wont be able to appreciate it. I will say this honestly be somewhat a little rough to watch for some people and or will it just flat out boring but, if you can put all of those aside you may be in for one hell of a treat. So I can simple say prepare for the best and prepare for the worst because this is going to be mind blowing in either a positive or negative fashion

So in a simple way of putting it we have a stripper who gets raped by 5 guys. The girl goes to the police and the guys some how buy their way out clean. So between her and her brother go on a revenge frenzy. Only to be chased and hunted themselves. Thats a minor spoiler in someways.

Now that you have the general idea, overall its a fun entertaining, bad, grindhouse kind of film. The acting overall is not exactly good and story is simple which within itself is good. Overall if you need to kill some time and be entertaining and just kind of feel like watching a movie for the hell of it that isn't intense but fun. Come on in pop her cherry bomb. You wont be too sorry. The main actress is really hot.

So come have some fun.

The Possession (I) (2012)

OK so in a nutshell the movie is about this family, the parents are divorced and they have two little girls. Now the younger one while at a yard sale picks out this creepy antique box(big mistake). So in the works of this bonding with the box all kinds of freaky stuff start to happen and it then leads to the possession, the transformation, and finally the exorcism. There's an interesting take here when you get a Jewish exorcism that's kind of cool possibly getting something new. It kind of wasn't at all. The stuff the "freaky, creepy stuff" wasn't scary at all. It seemed just very routine very cliché. I sat through this movie and kind of like can we get to the goods. However there in an interesting scene in the MRI that's all I'm saying. However the exorcism was routine it didn't freak me out and "the demon" well it sucks when you kind of see it. I must say this is one to miss. I'd say watch The Exorcist, The Devil Inside, hell Paranormal Activity is kind of in that category sort of.
