not bad, but not great, it's just OK
11 August 2014
With this TMNT movie, I've read reviews that either say it's great or bad. Well, to tell you the truth, it's neither great or bad, it's okay. This movie is popcorn entertainment, if you want the meaning of life, you're not gonna get it. I feel as if the same thing happened with Independence Day. People either say it's bad or great. I actually think TMNT 2014 acts as a gateway to a new series. There is a couple nods in the movie that lead me to that conclusion, but i'm not gonna say what. I don't wanna spoil anything. They action was you're typical Michael Bay action. Things going super fast and then slow motion. There were a couple of action scenes which were actually really well done. The turtles are of course the best thing about the movie. I think they really nailed the characters in most areas. Meagan Fox actually did what she had to do when she played April O'Neil, she wasn't that bad. Not great, but still okay. I also really like some of the new ideas for the turtles back story. There are things wrong with it, but still, well done. So in conclusion, it's popcorn entertainment, it's not that bad. I at least give it a 6.5 to a 7 star rating.

Gravity (2013)
7/10
It's good.
9 March 2014
When I first saw the trailers to this, i said, oh this is gonna fail. but then I heard it was amazing then i said, 'damn, can't believe I missed it in theaters. I finally saw it on demand and it was good. Just not as good as i was expecting. It did deserve some awards, which it did, but i think it won too many awards. The story wasn't really there, there was a good story, but I feel it's one of those sad moments when the visual effects throw story out the window. one thing i do have to say, have a good sound system and a huge TV, then you will get the full Gravity experience. it was good, check it out, it isn't the best but it's good

First Blood (1982)

One of my favorite action movies
18 February 2014
This movie is one of my favorite action movies

The movie has a well told story of a drifter that came back from Vietnam. The police kick him out of a small town and that pissies him off so he starts a rebellion getting the whole police force involved. I really enjoyed this film, for the story, the action, the characters and the movie has an emotional touch. It's very rare in an action movie where the main character breaks down. The acting is really well done and then that music by Jerry Goldsmith is amazing, one of my favorite movie soundtracks. If you are gonna start watching the Rambo Series, start off with this one, it's a good watch. it's in my top 20-11 films

One of my favorite movies to watch around Halloween
30 January 2014
To tell you guys the truth, I didn't see this movie until last week (1/24/2014) And I just fell in love with it. The creepy atmosphere, the story, the characters and even everybody's favorite killer, Freddy Kruger. Played by Robert Englund 8 times throughout the course of the series. There was even a TV show, called Freddy's Nightmares. Freddy was always the character that steels the show. In the first movie, he was scary, but as the series went on, it become more like a comedy then a horror series. The Story in the movie, is (I think) told really well. The movie kinda reminds me of Halloween (1978) almost. How to movie takes place in a suburban atmosphere, with a bunch of teenagers. In this movie though, the teens are not throw away characters. These characters, I actually like. well anyway, the story is pretty good, the characters are awesome, the acting is pretty good, Freddy's my favorite villain in film. everything about this movie is pretty good. It's not the best movie ever made, but it's one of my favorites to watch around Halloween.

Let's go fly a kite

Saving Mr Banks was a Surprisingly amazing flick. I heard great things about, so I went to see it for myself and It made me realize how much I loved the movie Mary Poppins as a kid. The movie was really accurate on the actual life story. Emma Thompson is great as P.L. Travers and Tom Hanks as Walt Disney. Pretty good job as usual. It took m awhile to get used to Hanks Playing Disney. But after 5 minutes of seeing him. I completely forgot it was Hanks. In the movie there are flashback scenes, going into the past of P.L. Travers. People complain that that the scenes feel to fantasy like. There really not. Those flashbacks scenes are told through Travels Prospective. Which actually makes it really good. This was probably the most adult Disney movie ever released by the studio. Now my only problem with that is, if Disney keeps going in the adult direction, will the studio be family orientated anymore. Maybe that's why we have touchstone pictures. Anyway, It was a really good flick to end off 2013. Great Story, acting, great scenery, I loved it. Can't wait to get it on Blu-Ray.

So bad, it doesn't deserve a star
15 January 2014
O.k. One thing about me. I freaking love batman. The 1989 movie was Awesome. My personal favorite superhero movie. The sequel (batman returns) was o.k. After that, Batman forever came, again o.k., but kinda stupid. And then... this monstrosity came in 1997. This is a horrible, no loving, honorable for being the worst possible concoction known to man. Worst superhero movie, ever. I do like to plead though. That, it's more of a comedy rather then an action film. But is that what batman fans wanted. No. It wasn't. And that's why it Sucks. 0 out of 4 stars. Yes, zero is now a on the rating scale. This movie should have never existed.

Die Hard (1988)
10/10
A movie drizzled with awesome-sauce
15 January 2014
Die Hard is one of the most amazing and (I think) revolutionary action films of the late 1980's and it launch the career of Bruce Willis. Die Hard was based off the novel "Nothing Lasts Forever" written by Roderick Thorp in 1979. There is a perfect balance between action and suspense. And the way it's told, you get so into the story. You feel for the characters and want to see the character John McClane take down all of the terrorist that invade the Nakatomi Building. Other action movies usually just make throw away characters. And a plot nobody cares about. I'm trying not to give story. Because to me, you have to see it and surprise yourself. Because the funny thing Is, I first saw it on a VHS that I bought from a yard sale for 50 cents. It's one of my favorite movies of all time. Not on my top ten, but probably around my top 20. The action and the story are beautifully put together. The acting is great. There's even a bit of comedic relief. And let's not forgot the famous saying. Yippee KY yay… well, I can't say it. This is one movie, I definitely recommend, check it out.

As Awesome as the first part.
28 December 2013
I was satisfied with the first entry in the trilogy. Still for the past year and a half, i think the idea of making one book into a 3 part movie is stupid, but when i watch the movies, i forget about it. The movie's story is a continuation of The Hobbit story line. The Characters are still the same with addition of some new characters. But for some reason, there's not as much comedic relief from the characters. Which is weird to me, but i think it was a good idea because of the darker tones of the movie. The setting is perfect, the creepy fog, the woods the lakes. All perfect for this chapter in the series. The acting is still really good, the interaction between characters was still really good. The action was really good. And Smaug Was awesome. I'm not going into the character of Smaug, because I don't want to ruin anything. Everything for a nearly perfect sequel is there, can't wait for part 3.

Well, the odds were in my favor.
28 November 2013
With most sequels, you expect it to be not as good as the first. To tell you the truth, that's what I thought at first when the trailers popped up on IMDb. When I went to see it, I saw it opening day and I played hooky with my mother, older brother, little brother and little sister. My initial reaction was, "It was good" I was really confused about my opinions for about a day or 2 and I then realized, it was better than the first. So then 2 days later… me and some friends went to see it (this being my second time). And now my opinions came full circle.

The plot is just like the book, except some things from the book is dropped. The scenery is beautiful and I think because the movie was filmed in 4k H.D. (4k is roughly 4 times better then 1080p H.D.) A lot more emotion was in the movie. A great soundtrack, Lots of thrills, action, suspense and there was a bit more comedic relief in this movie. Which I think helps the overall feel of the movie when you come out of watching it. The only things I thought were negative, some of the characters were still flat, but that doesn't affect the movie for me.

While the movie was great, the book was still better, but this movie I believe was better than the first movie. That's why this installment of the franchise gets 8 out of 10 stars.

A blast from the past and full of nostalgia
2 November 2013
When Monsters Inc. came out in theaters. I was about 3 to 4 years old when it came out in theaters and i barely remember anything (Well... duh my age.) I only can remember one image, it was that last shot of the movie where Sully went into Boo's room. When I heard that Pixar was making a prequel to the first, i didn't know what to feel. Then i saw the first trailer and right then and there was when i said to myself, i wanna see this. I didn't get to see this in theaters, but i rented it off Amazon's prime video service and i was speechless on how good this was. While not as charming as the first movie. I still left the movie with the same feel i do with the first movie. A lot of nostalgia was in the movie for long time fans and I have a lot of appreciation for the filmmakers for bringing back old memories. I was still emotionally attached with Mike and Sully. The characters Mike and Sully still have the same type of relationship as they did before. which is still as awesome as ever all this with a good story makes this pretty much a perfect sequel, I say check it out. It's awesome.

Halloween II (1981)
7/10
Halloween review: Part 2
2 November 2013
While Halloween was a pretty much perfect for a slasher movie. Halloween 2 isn't as good. I do like how it continues the story of the first one and ends the 'real' story. I also like the hospital environment. I kinda like the idea of trick or treater's having the same costume as Michael Myers, but the movie kind of ruins it with one scene. This movie is not as settle as the first. This movie is where they decided that every sequel will up the anti on the violence. Which means that there is a bit more blood and gore. I don't mind that in this and Halloween III, but the sequels after wards kept up with that idea and i think that might of contributed to my disliking of most of the sequels. While this one isn't as good, it still holds up for me. Well that's my movie review for Halloween this year. Sorry it's late, i have been kind of busy with other life and all. As always, thanks for reading, check them out for your self's.

Halloween review: Part 1
2 November 2013
I'm not knocking every other slasher movie. It's just that not a lot of slasher movies have any interesting ideas. Some are just around to show blood and gore. Halloween is a different type of movie where it didn't rely on special effects, blood and gore, etc. It relied more on suspense and a creepy atmosphere. There is a few problems. Some scenes are slow and the dialog in some parts is a bit weird, but by the last 45 to 50 Min's the movie picks up. We all know about the killer Michael Myers. I'm one of those people though who believed that he should have stayed dead at 2. That's what I like about Halloween. The movie leaves off with a cliffhanger and ends the story in Halloween II. Halloween 3 tried to take the series in a different direction. Which i liked that idea. But due to backlash with fans. They brought Michael back in IV, V and all the sequels onward. which I believed ruined the series. Maybe that's why I only own 1 2 and 3 on DVD. I will tell you about my opinions about the second movie in part 2 of this review.

Ed Wood (1994)
10/10
The most uplifting movie ever made (In my opinion)
5 October 2013
Ed Wood is based off the worst filmmaker ever. Edward D. Wood Jr. Who has made some of the worst movies ever made. Ed Wood is played by Johnny Deep and it's my personal favorite performance from him. Martin Landau does great job portraying actor Bela Lugosi. I love his performance. All the actors were all great. The movie has really good visuals and look a lot like the style of Ed Woods work. The movie goes through the making of three of his films. Glen Or Glenda. Bride Of The Monster and Plan 9 From Outer Space. The movie gets really good at the end and is the most uplifting ending I have ever seen and the movie has really good message for a 15 year old filmmaker like me. It Tells you, even if people call your work crap, you can ignore and move on with your work. Kinda like Rocky in a sense. Except, this is about film making, not boxing. This is now one of my favorite movies of all time. Because it motivates me to continue my work and future projects for YouTube and my film making career in the future. I love everything about this movie, its perfect.

The Muppets (2011)
8/10
a great comeback for the modern era.
29 September 2013
Just to put this review in prospective, yes i'm 15 years old, but that doesn't mean that i grew up a Muppet fan. when i was about 8 years old i became a fan. Anyway, "The Muppets" is the first Muppet movie i ever saw i theaters and it was special. I had a blast, it had the feel of the show and the movies, with the corny humor and the charm. I like the new character Walter. The human characters are pretty funny. I only had a problem with the one song they did and the was the song "F**k you" or in the movie its "Forget You" for censorship reasons. The Muppet's can't do songs like that. I definitely did enjoy this one.

and i can't wait for the sequel

Poltergeist (1982)
8/10
Spielberg at his best.
20 September 2013
As soon as i'm writing this review, I just finished watching it and I have to say, it was awesome. I have always been a fan of Spielberg's work and seeing Spielberg and Tobe Hopper (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre)work together, is kinda cool. I liked the ideas the movie had, i think it might have been inspired by the Twilight Zone episode, Little Girl Lost. Where a little girl gets sucked into a portal and the parents have to get her out. The premise came from that, but with the always awesome 80's effects, good story and entertainment. It makes for a fun time. Two sequels were mad, but sadly most of the cast members died during the making, even Heather O'Rourke died at the age of 12. Many people consider this the Poltergeist curse and also apparently owning all the movies is a bad omen because of it. (I find that kinda ridiculous.)I defiantly recommend seeing this movie, its a must. oh and there is a remake coming in 2014. I might check it out, my only problem already, all the effects are gonna be CGI. I can tell ya that.

Big (1988)
8/10
Great Acting, story and just an overall good movie
27 August 2013
Believe it or not, I never saw Big until 3 weeks ago. I was with a bunch of friends and we wanted to watch something. So we watched this movie and I thought it was great. I came into the movie with an open mind and let my inner child loose for a good 2 hours. The plot centers around a kid who is tired of being a kid. He see's this machine that he turns on and makes the wish to be big (Should have been more specific) The next morning hes a 30 yea old man. He travels to new York city with his friend who is still a kid and gets a job working at a toy company. He gets promoted and becomes rich. What's so great about the film is just the idea, and the comedy (Obviously) but with a good story and fantastic acting by Tom Hanks and the supporting actors. I always find it kinda funny though that it was written by a Spielberg. That only makes it cooler. I would definitely say check this out.

Rocky II (1979)
8/10
not as good as the first but still great
17 July 2013
After the success of the first there just had to be a sequel. John Avildsen didn't direct this one. Instead, Stallone took on directing, producing, writing and acting. let me give you the plot.

After the fight with Apollo Creed, the 2 go to the hospital, where Creed Challenges Rocky to a rematch, but Rocky denies the request at the moment. After they are released, Rocky is rich, but spends a lot of the money. He marries Adrian, he gets a new car and he buys a new house. He tries making a commercial and fails because of his inability to read he also tries to work at the meat factory. This effects his training and Mickey tells him to fight right handed. Apollo goes public about the rematch he wants. Meanwhile though Rocky got Adrian pregnant and after delivering the baby she falls into a coma. after a few days, she awakens and was given the baby, which was named Rocky Jr. He gains the guts to fight so he trains again and finally fights Apollo. Apollo is still mad, but Rocky is still determined to win.

Its not as good as the first movie, but it still has the tone of the first movie and it works as a sequel. As Joe Bob would put it 3 stars out of 4, check it out

Rocky (1976)

Rocky, your the man
16 July 2013
Rocky... its simply one of the best drama movies ever made. With a budget of only 1,100,000. they really made the best of it. The story is amazing. this movie, will make you leave with a smile on your face. the drama will make you feel for the characters and by the end you are cheering for Rocky. Do i have to explain the plot, well i might as well.

A thug/local boxer is called upon by a pro boxer that goes by the name Apollo Creed. He has to rise to the top and fight Apollo. In the middle of this he goes to his friend Paullies house to meet his sister Adrian and Rocky and her start dating each other. so Rocky gains the guts and trains to fight in the best training montage in history. Most people remember the scene where are runs up those famous stairs. i've never done it, but i might soon.

Its such a great movie, its one of my favorite movies of all time. i have the songs from survivor and the soundtrack on my windows 8x. After this review i will tackle the sequels. Diffenitlly check this flick out.

Despicable Me (2010)
8/10
great movie, one of the best modern kids films
9 July 2013
I know this review came late, but to let you know I did see it when it came out. Steve Carrel plays a villain named Gru. Who with many others find out that a pyramid is stolen. He goes to this really hidden bank where he revels his plans to steel the moon. Meanwhile, three girls from an orphanage are adopted by Gru. in the middle of this a villain named Vector (Steve Carrel) who also plans on steeling the moon. Its a race between the 2 to see who gets the moon first. (It reminds me a lot of the space race for some reason) What I like about the movie is the characters, the writing and some of the jokes were funny. And there was hidden adult jokes a plenty. It feels like a Disney movie because of the emotion but it also has its own style. which I think is cool, you don't see that a lot in animated movies. My only problem is that it does get tiresome after watching it 10 times. If you give it 6 months or so it's fine. It left an impression on everyone. kids and adults. I definitely say check it out... oh by the way, whoever though of the minions was a genius

Real Steel (2011)

This movie leaves an awesome impression.
4 June 2013
I have to admit, i didn't think this movie was gonna be good the first time i saw the trailer. I rented from redbox when it came out on DVD and i was totally wrong. I came from watching Rocky to this. It is not as good as rocky, but i can give it props for being a lot like it. The plot (no spoilers) is about Charlie Kenton, a retired boxing champion, is now part of robot boxing. He finds out that his ex is dead and he must go get his son. His son's an A**hole to his father, but Charlie finds out his son loves robot boxing. So the find a robot named atom and they train him to fight. The things i love about this movie, one is the music by Danny Elfman, definitely one of his best sound jobs. I find myself listening to some tracks every so often. The story is really good, it sucks you in, in a blink of an eye. you feel for pretty much every character. It's a really feel good movie, that really leaves a great impression. i give it 8 out of 10 Stars

One of the greatest comedy's
1 June 2013
The Blues Brohers, what can i say... it's a comedy. an action movie maybe even a parody. The plot is (NO Spoilers) Jake Blues, a man released from a correctional center, meets up with his brother Elwood. The blues brothers are a band and they have to get the band back together to raise $5,000 for their catholic home. What makes this movie so great is the humor, there's things people do for no reason, their chased by everyone, and by the middle of the movie. You believe this is a normal day for the two. I only have one problem with the movie, it does tend to feel a little longer than it is, but the comedy and the music make up for it. I give this movie a 3 & 1/2 stars out of four. A great movie everybody should check out. (Well, at least wait for your kid to be 14 years of age)

Really, a kid has the fastest hands in the west.... Really.
22 March 2013
This is the parody that the whole (By that I mean partial) family should see. It is (In my opinion) one of the best comedy's ever made. I laughed my A** off at the scene where they moved from the west into Hollywood. The scene where Harvey Korman get's shot in the doodle. Aside from that, Blazing Saddles is a story about an African American man (Cleavon Little) becomes a sheriff in a small western town. The towns people hate that they have a black guy as a sheriff. They start to get along with him by the end. What i like about this movie. Is that there is so many jokes like the fastest hands in the west. The censorship joke when cleavon rides into town. It is just a funny comedy. I Don't think the movie is rated R. It is PG-13. If your kids know the time period. Than the movie is fine.

Now I can like Lord of the Rings
7 January 2013
The Hobbit is a prequel to lord of the rings. A young Hobbit (Bilbo Baggins), has a unexpected guest come over to invite for an adventure. (Gandolf) Bilbo kicks him out. later at like 6:00 at night or so. I don't know. A bunch of dwarfs, warriors and Gandolf. (Gandolf is not really important until later.(nagging nerds, I have to deal with you!)) they all go off to have an adventure to find a lost kingdom. (Don't nag, because I don't know names!) Let me tell you the story & acting is good. But, GOD DAMN! the visuals are spectacular! I saw this in 3-D and it ruled. Worth the headache. They also filmed with a frame rate of 47 frames per second, which... believe it or not. That also causes a headache. The movie was great and I can't wait for the next one to come out.

This game needs life support
29 December 2012
Seriously, like movie sequels not as good as the first. I give this game a 5 out of 10 for certain reasons 1: The co-op mode sucks. Seriously, What if the person you give the second controller too. Does not know how to play the game! That sucks.

2: The story is too long and drawn out for my taste.

3: The difficulty came from HELL!!! this game is way harder then the first game which made me rage quit when I tried to play it on my Xbox profile.

This game was o.k. Just get past those 3 reasons and your good. The story is interesting and sometimes can lead to Huge dramatic irony. The controls in the game are to complicated for kids under 7 years old. This game should have been E10. Well that's my opinion, if you don't like it. Stop reading my reviews! (just kidding give me your opinions.)

Sonic Adventure (1998 Video Game)
8/10
Revolutionary for 1998
19 December 2012
This game is awesome. i can't help trying not to say that. It was 1998 and SEGA released the Dreamcast. It was the first 128 bit console. One of the first launch titles was Sonic Adventure. Originally, the game was supposed to be an R.P.G. That idea was eventually scraped. This was the blue blurs first jump into the 3-D world(not counting Sonic 3-D blast or Sonic R) Let's talk about the game. The story is o.k. for what it is, but one problem. There's 6 characters, which means 6 story's and you have to piece them together. speaking of 6 characters, there's sonic, tails, knuckles, new comer Amy, E'102 Gamma and... ugh. Big the cat. O.k. 2 characters are pointless. Big the cat should never have been thought of. Amy, no one likes. If you want to here my opinions, watch Somecallmejohnnys review on youtube. Anyway. The game is super fun.
