Good, mostly

Unlike the previous comment(er) on this film, I'd have to say that I quite enjoyed the film, also saw at the RFF, when quite a few people walked out. The thing is you see is that I am film fodder, and I find many things enjoyable that bemuse the people I know. This is a film that dwells on suffering, and, knowing first hand what it is like to suffer, and be around suffering, I can honestly say that the film engages the element of undue pain very well. Sometimes within films it is necessary to linger upon things for longer than some viewers would like, and this is one of those cases. I hope that the collaborators of this film will not be forced into procrastination by the previous comment(er), as I would very much like to see further works of the same mould, albeit without having to travel across the sea to view them. For most people you'll need to watch this film twice to really find the intensity that was so brilliant, there are gaps, but then again, TITANIC is the highest ever grossing film, who knows perfection?

awful

almost the worst film I've ever seen in all my life. this was made with the quality of a nickelodeon movie, and released as a box office draw? get real whoever released it, not even my 5 yr old sister likes it. if a third comes out ill take lives, and then ill think of something worse to do after that. not only has this film got jokes that weren't even new during the time of the first scooby doo movie, its also got the same actors. now, don't get me wrong, i think they're all OK, and have appeal, but they're havin the p**s taken out of them in this film. Freddie prnz is gd, he has appeal, he should stick to not being able to act in proper films. Buffy is buffy no more said. Velma should marry me because shes hot, and she also carries a lot of the action, she didn't get that much air time in the cartoon. shaggy? the guy was annoying before he was shaggy, hes good as shaggy, but should try and up his game, itll be good for the world. the films are just far more colourful than the cartoon, there's no more pastels and muted colours, its all bizarre acid trippy colours, which kids even feel unsettled by. if they take the next film seriously, which i hope they don't even consider, they should approach it from the film point of view, not the franchise point of view, and film outside of nickelodeons facility range. this film should be shot. xx

Batman Begins (2005)

proud to have watched it

what a film! i went to watch it last night and i thought it was brilliant. the reason why i'm proud of it? the complete lack of noticeable CGI. i was fan-dangled by the realistic imagery of the bat-mobile chases and the explosions and stunts, they were fantastic. Bale is superb, Caine has the usual charisma we can expect, freeman does nothing but is still good, Oldman(who should only play bad guys) is relatively unemployed apart from a few 1 liners, and katie Holmes is as you'd expect from someone who is aware that they're just a pretty face. obviously a Nolan film with the flashbacks and a scene in particular(bale sitting on the floor researching falconi with paper everywhere) is a bit uncanny as the same shot was used in memento. all round i was hooked on this film from beginning to end, and was upset that i needed to attend the toilet halfway through. id recommend it to anyone with taste, but children should not go because its damn scary in places.
