Oh Dear
15 April 2024
This has to be one of the worst "horror" films I have seen to date. OK admittedly the budget was very small but thats absolutely no excuse for terrible acting and terrible screenplay.

Such a well worked genre but we never got to know the characters enough to be bothered if they were sliced up or when. Personally I would have enjoyed them all getting murdered in the first 15 minutes. OK I watched the whole film but thats because I was lying on the sfa and couldnt find my remote.

Please pass this one on and avoid losing 65 minutes? Of your life.

On a closing note the soundtrack is very annoying too.

Il Grande Passo

Warning: Spoilers
Caught this on Amazon Prime (Moon Landing) and really enjoyed it. A story of family , hope and dreams.

Both actors. Giuseppe Battiston and. Stefano Fresi play brothers who hav.nt seen each other for a while due to family issues. Battiston (Dario Cavalieri) is tasked with taking care of his brother Fresi (Mario) who has been in truble with the law for arson as he trialed his first rocket launcvh which didint go to plan.

Both brothers begin to bond more and more - Wait for the finale !

All in all a really nice film with great mores and brilliantly acted.

Incidentally the music score by. Pino Donaggio is fantastic. Recommended.

Quite good fun
10 September 2022
Despite all the low reviews here I actually thought this was quite good fun - it's nowhere near the 1985 Romero film but I suspected that before I started watching.- it doesn't take itself seriously and the special effects are ok too. - I liked all the actors, especially Miranda Frigon who I remember from Primeval: New World - and the brilliant Morgan Holmstrom who turned in an amazing performance in the short Shadow of the Rougarou - the story worked well despite the narrative being slightly confusing.

I suggest you should look at this, don't take so seriously and just enjoy it. Not bad for a Sci-Fi production.

Give it a chance people.

Ludicrous

Quite simply the worst ever film I have seen in the past 5 years - quite what Halle Berry was doing in it is beyond me - did she need mortgage cash?

Appalling script and terrible acting - a total waste of money.

Very Intriguing
27 April 2022
Binge watched the whole series last night and was pleasantly surprised at how good the pace was. Danish actress. Clara Rugaard is excellent in the lead role along with strong performances by. Nicholas Gleaves,Matthew McNulty and. Emily Taaffe.

Based on the 2016 Belgium series Beau Sejour.

Utter tripe

This must be possibly the most stoopidest dilm I have ever watched.

I only got toan hour into it before I ran out of the room screaming - so I'm not sure how it ended and to be frank I couldn't care.

Dialogue is laughable too.

What a waste

Never been a Ryan Reynolds fan so I thought I would give this a go because of Jodie Comer especially after watching Killing Eve and the brilliant Covid drama Help with Stephen Graham.

I wished I hadn't bothered. Even Jodie couldnt pull this turkey up from a 1 star review' Watch The Trueman Show instead.

Dire
30 December 2020
Stellan Skarsgard struggles with the laughable script, Mellisa George is slightly better and Tom Hardy looks and sounds like he can't wait for the paycheck - Strange handheld camera work does't add either. All in all pretty dire - Avoid ...I would.

Suffering from the inevitable loss of characters and story.
21 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I was never a fan of the Zombie genre but after season 1 I just fell into the story of Rick and his merry band so therefore I binge watched all 10 seasons (so far!). Season 1 - 8 were exceptional and I applauded the makers when they started to "kill off" some of their co stars (brave move) - I also started to like the Negan character (took me a while) and some of the introductions of newer characters like Father Gabriel and The King ! - But season 9 was so unwatchable with Samantha Mortons over the top , scene chewing Alpha I barely made it through to the end. I long for the comedy of Abraham and Tara , I also think I am going to be irritated by "The Princess" but still happy to see Daryl,Carol and Michonne trying to keep the series alive. That said I look forward to whatever they have planned in the future - Season 11 or Film and hope they bring back the main character Rick who is sorely missed.

Brilliant Fun

This is exactly what we need - A film that doesnt take itself seriously but shows us how funny film can be with the right crew, actors and director. I have followed Matts film career with great hope that one day he will become the UK Tarrantino ! Also happy to be a backer for this project - Keep em coming Matt !!

No depth to the characters
15 May 2020
Just finished the last episode and I actually thought the premise was quite intriguing at first. Unfortunately like lots of drama series the ending was hurried and also conveniently all loose ends tied up. Most of the characters had no depth to them and the police segments were so unbeleivable. I wasted a good few hours of my life on this.

Wow !!!
22 February 2020
It would appear that James Haslam has been rumaging through Tarantino's waste bin - This is as unappealing a film as anything I have ever seen - Quite why Thurman and Roth are in this (maybe as a favour?) is beyond me. Steer well clear!!!

Amazing Documentary
19 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Everyone should try and sit through this film - its uncomforatble , its emotional , its painful and its heart breaking - that little segment when Waad Al-Khateab is talking to baby Sama and she is smiling while all around you can hear bombing is enough to thaw the most hardest of people - The film has been nominated and won quite a few awards - If this doesnt win an Oscar then there is no justice at all - amazing documentary.

Powerful yet Depressing
7 June 2019
Total respect for Shane Meadows for crafting such a perfect piece of drama. He allowed terrific actors Stephen Graham , Niamh Algar and Helen Behan to weave such a depressing story line with such aplomb and obvious improvisation and while Meadows, himself abused as a nine year old doesnt fall into revenge but more into redemption makes this brilliant series all the more uncomfortable for the viewer. There is a tribute to Meadows mother on the end titles who died age 63 of cancer 4 weeks after filming. No spoilers from me - just please watch it and form your own opinions.

Brilliant Series
27 March 2019
I can't remember ever being so impressed by such great writing and acting in a series in years. Both Youssef Kerkour and Rebekah Staton are fantastic and bring a depth to both characters not usually prevellent in "comedy". Hats off to Rufus Jones and Channel 4 for bringing such a great series to us .

Heres hoping for a second series .....and its only half way through series 1?

Theres an audience out there somewhere ??
8 February 2019
First can I say I gave 3 stars for the 3 main leads - Eline Powell is devastatingly stunning !!.....and the other 2 actors Alex Roe and Fola Evans-Akingbola try as hard as they can with the laughable script. Such an overworked script idea but now with a nautical theme even if the makers are aware theres a huge difference between Mermaids and Sirens? The series must be aimed at a much younger audience than I - possibly the "Twilight" followers might get a kick from this though ? Special mention must go to Curtis Lum who plays the dumbest character I have ever witnessed.

Great Revenge Movie

I love a great revenge movie and this is just that nothing arty or pretensious - great dialogue , great direction and Jennifer Garner is just brilliant. Loved the ending (without giving anything away)

Not Palatable at all
18 September 2018
It would seem this movie was inspired by the "scythe killing on camping holiday" of Terry Hurst in 2004/5? which does indeed make it all the more frightning - Unfortunately despite some great camera work the acting is absolutely terrible , most noteworthy Danny Miller as the lead protaganist Nicholas

Natalie Martins and Richard Pawulski are slightly better - According to interviews with some of the cast - there were a lot of improvised dialogue and it does show - where did they get the "actors" who played Danny's Mum and Dad from ????

It was a brave attempt to tell this story - but I feel with a better cast and director it could have been so much better.

Great Series
10 August 2018
I was never really a fan of Chris O'Dowd but I decided to give this show a look - Just did an 8 episode marathon and decided that this was one of the best series I have seen - Lucy Walters is such a beautiful and talented actress and Sean Bridgers is one of the most coolest and funniest actors I have seen in a while - plus everyone loves Ray Romano - how can you go wrong !!
