Gotten rave reviews. I really liked it, but I think the impact was lost on me because I've known the NWA origin story like the back of my hand since I was 12. Nothing was a surprise to me, but it was still incredibly well made. Ice Cube's son plays Ice Cube and he looks and acts just like him.
(I have the theatrical version 2 hrs 20 minutes, and a directors cut 2 hrs 45 minutes. I only saw the longer directors cut, but the consensus seems to be its the more comprehensive and satisfying version.)
