It brings the graphic novel to life and this is a true story that takes place in a troubling time for really the world. It is a book, everyone should read and a film everyone should see.

3. The Avengers (2012)

This movie and the series did the impossible. It changed the way companies look at producing movie franchises. It is the first of it's kind and the best.

5. A History of Violence (2005)

No special effects, no CGI. This movie shows that a movie based on a comic book can have drama, and a good story line that is geared toward adults.

6. Blue Is the Warmest Colour (2013)

The epidome of drama. This movie proves that comic books/graphic novels are indeed for adults as well as children.

8. Sin City (2005)

The best and most accurate and cannon comic book adaptation ever. This is the clearest example that a comic book movie can still look like a comic book but be geared to an adult audience.

Not only one of the best animated films ever. It is one of the best films ever.

Just awesome. It deviates from the comic book series, which in this case was a good thing because that series simply was not executed well. Great idea though that is worked into a trilogy dealing with multiple subplots and it delivers on all fronts.

11. Big Hero 6 (2014)

Oscar award winner. And although it deviates because Disney does not own the rights to the key characters, it does the best job in keeping the core story intact, while making changes that actually made the film better than the books it was loosely based on.

This movie is still one of, if not the best example of staying cannon to the comic book while making changes that worked.

Just an amazing film with perfect casting. Casting is the most important aspect in a comic book adaptation, and this is certainly one of the best.

The first Blockbuster if it's kind. This movie tried to embrace a new era of the cape crusader that combined different comic book story lines. Though The Dark Knight was the better overall movie. This movie showed a more accurate depiction of the Joker.

Just a great adaptation overall.

This movie and series changed the genre in many ways. It took many elements from the comic book and combined them flawlessly with an original screenplay and still used live action as a means to tell a story. It was the first film where no one knew what was going to happen next.
