It's fairly slow, isn't actually funny and feels more like it's copying Spielberg or Stranger Things than the orginal Ghostbusters films, the new characters are cliched geeky teens but the ending lifts it. A nice tribute to Harold Ramis, I nearly cried first time I saw it.

Actually a pretty decent sequel. I always liked it as a child and I was impressed at how well it holds up. Not as many laughs but better effects, good direction, the actors have settled into their roles, there's more chemistry between Bill Murray and Sigourney Weaver and the ending is good.

Director: Richard Donner | Stars: Christopher Reeve, Margot Kidder, Gene Hackman, Marlon Brando
Votes: 187,589 | Gross: $134.22M
Nice kitsch 70s sci-fi opening, wonderful theme song but a bit overlong, and becomes increasingly full of very dated visual effects shots, particularly of Superman flying. Hackman's Lex Luthor is a silly villain, plot is juvenile, Reeve does a good job overall but there's not much depth in the characterisation.

Wasn't funny, reused a lot of material from the first one and Smith shouldn't have taken it into weepy territory. It doesn't feel right seeing Randall cry. One of Smith's worst.

First watch since I was about 5 or 6 (didn't remember much). First half hour is actually looks quite nice if a bit slow. Subplot with the homeless boy is crap. John Lithgow is hilariously hammy ("FOR FREE?!!!"). Dudley Moore doesn't quite get into his character. Flying sequences and other visual effects very much show their age.

Seen it 3 times now. Animation is excellent but the storytelling and characterisation is lacking. The songs aren't that great either. The high IMDb rating is probably due to childhood nostalgia and the way it looks.

Pretty much a load of dumb gags and clowning thrown at the screen, not unwatchable though.

Nothing more than a showcase for computer animation that quickly dated. The story has no real message, the characters are 1 dimensional and have no personality with their blank faces. Even though it's really just a kiddie film it could still have been better, look how good the Toy Story films were.

Complete mess, a bunch of fairy tales just thrown into a blender with no proper story, terrible CGI even for 2005, hard to care about any of the characters, no good performances. Definitely Gilliam's worst film.

Fairly well made and Peter Weller is fine but it's too incomprehensible to be entertaining.
