Seemingly, it's perfect film about theatrum mundi. Yet, it's not. It is film-within-the-film depicting "film" and "reality" and the interaction between these two "realms" which is fulfilled by misinterpretation of one's mind. It is about how these "realms" subverts each other and how easy it is to be consumed by our selfish desires, which are very emotional but by no means empathetic – since we overlook things like fear of death of others, looking only at our own lives. (Here, we can think of absurdity of life but it's not what's the intention of this movie.) Still, we can't forget that even "reality" is the film and we can't let us falsely conclude what this "reality" tells us. Besides its amazing structure, it tells us story about love but not in general way, but it tells us about eros, philia, storge and mania and how they can be easily disrupted and sadly destroyed (for example by sexual objectification). All of them are portrayed in very New-wave attitude with all the New-wave aesthetics. It's fair to say it is average film without comprehension of the structure. But that makes us the main protagonist of this film who looks at movie's surface but not at its layers.
8. Parasite (2019)
R | 132 min | Drama, Thriller
Greed and class discrimination threaten the newly-formed symbiotic relationship between the wealthy Park family and the destitute Kim clan.

Votes: 960,471 | Gross: $53.37M
Class war is usually portrayed as black and white tragedy rooted in capitalism. Parasite surely juxtaposes lower class (working class) and upper class (bourgeoisie) but it shows us also incoherent will to help each other (in lower class). It is as if movie was telling us that capitalism reached the stage when it's not a problem to solve but it's just problem, period. And only thing we can do is to struggle – flow with this survival of the fittest. Lower class fights against each other and upper class doesn't have a need to care about it; everything what is considered guaranteed is actually unrecognized labour. It's difficult to say who was most cunning in this film because all of them were parasites in their own nature. In other words, it shows us deteriorated condition of society which is inflicted by capitalism to empower itself and lead us towards sick dystopia. Besides this great critique of status quo, we can also notice through our own perception how our perspective of morality is very distorted and adjusted to what we want to be right, not what is right. Even though, we know all of them are parasites, the question is whose actions can be justified?
