It was a brutal Winter (of our discontent), but it's finally Spring and there's plenty of new music to thaw even the most solid block of plowed snow. Here are ten of my favorite new rock/pop/dance/funk/folk tunes. Let us begin with this tremendous track (and album) from one of my favorite folk-rock singer/songwriters, the former New Yorker and now L.A.-based David Poe. Here he shares his muse on his debut single "When I Fly" from his soon-to-be-released long player When I Fly. Check him out on tour, too.
Nsfw aside, the "Leeches" video -- directed by Jessica Lauretti of the band This Frontier Needs Heroes -- is just one of the infectious tracks from the Shoulders album released by the terrifically talented singer/songwriter/composer Pt Walkley, who just happens to hail from NYC. So there.

The Zombie genre has its strong following of fans in the UK, as well as around the world. Many genres and visionaries have carved their own version of the undead, with many creative interpretations on screen. Films like Night Of The Living Dead provided us with the standard slow walkers, whilst 28 Days Later opted for a faster energetic take of zombies (which were called “the infected” but none the less have been pushed by mainstream media as zombies, so…). Television hasn’t been entirely focused on making zombie themed shows. The only show that has managed success has been AMC’s The Walking Dead, America’s highest rated cable series with over 11 million viewers a week.
Now, BBC Three is opting for a take on the zombie genre with In the Flesh, a three part drama focusing on a world where zombies have been integrated back into society, with conflicting views from the survivors.

A few weeks ago a judge ruled against Microsoft in a patent dispute with Motorola, basically saying Microsoft Xbox 360 had infringed on a number of Motorola patents. The big one being that the wireless device inside the slim 4Gb and 250Gb Xbox 360 models infringed on a Motorola patent. The Xbox 360 was already banned from import and sale in Germany earlier this month until a Federal Judge at the last minute upheld the ban until a later date.
However, now Judge David Shaw of the International Trade Commission is recommending all Xbox 360s be banned from import into the United States and unsold quantities of Xbox 360s be barred from sale in the United States as well. Microsoft argued that this would hurt the consumer as having only two other consoles on the market PlayStation 3 or the Nintendo Wii. Shaw threw this argument out stating that Sony and Nintendo could carry the slack.

At least one of Demi Moore's daughters felt well enough to make it to theScreen Actors' Guild Awards after party, just days after her mother was rushed to hospital and treated for some kind of adverse drug reaction.
Rumer Willis was spotted sneaking into the official after party outside the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday night, reports Us Weekly.
Willis was trying to keep "a crazy low profile," says a source who claims "she definitely didn't want anyone to see her." But for someone wanting to stay out of the spotlight it seems strange the 23-year-old would show up to the party at all -- especially since it's been widely speculated that Rumer was present when Demi Moore started convulsing last Monday.
In the 911 recording released to the press last week, many voices can be heard talking to the emergency dispatcher, and one woman calls out the name "Ru,...

Rumer Willis isn't letting family drama slow her down. Following Demi Moore's hospitalization last week and decision to seek professional treatment for exhaustion, her daughter - and frequent party companion - was in full social mode, enjoying a busy weekend out and about in Los Angeles. On Saturday night, Willis, 23 - who was apparently on hand when Moore's friends called 911 after the actress had an apparent seizure - stepped out for dinner at Comme Ça, joined by her friend Annie Starke, Annie's mother Glenn Close and Close's husband David Shaw. Episode one of ITV’s Without You was very good. Episode two was thrilling. Ellie (Anna Friel) found herself being offered the job that previously belonged to the woman who her husband was seemingly having an affair with. No one knew who she really was but she sailed close to the wind a few times by badgering all of her colleagues with questions about Milena’s love life. As in the first episode, Friel was thoroughly convincing as the grieving widow trying to cope with loss, anger, jealously, rage and fear whilst playing the role of a temp named Gwen. Equally impressive was Pippa Haywood (Brittas Empire) as an unhappy soul trapped in a loveless marriage. For his part, Marc Warren made the best of an unconventional role as ghost.
