Exclusive: Cameras have started rolling in Sofia, Bulgaria, on the survival-thriller Savage Hunt from Dutch filmmaker Roel Reiné (Halo).
The pic comes from a screenplay penned by Chad Law and Christopher Jolley. The story follows a vengeful tracker who is brought in to hunt down a large grizzly bear, which has begun attacking humans when a new local resort begins construction, disrupting the natural habitat of the wildlife.
The production has told us they are currently using a real grizzly bear on location as part of the shoot.

Film Bridge International has sales rights to the pic and will introduce it to buyers at the forthcoming Cannes market. Producing the pic are United Film’s Gabriel Georgiev, Ellen Wander, and...

Exclusive: Film Bridge International is launching sales at AFM on horror Xelter, whose producers include The De Laurentiis Company (Hannibal) and Head Gear Films (Talk To Me).
The period horror film directed by Martin Bonnici is currently in production in Malta, with a cast of Maltese newcomers alongside actors including Brit Bobby Schofield (The Covenant) and Irish actor Moe Dunford (Vikings).
The WWII-set movie charts the legend of the Babaw, a supernatural creature known for stalking and killing children. The film, inspired by true historical events, sees citizens of Malta take shelter from Nazi bombardment in the ancient catacombs underneath the cities, where they suffered deadly peril from collapsing tunnels and entrapment. That experience scarred a generation, and led to stories about creatures that stole children who strayed too far away from their parents.
Screenplay was written by Scottish screenwriter and comics writer Emma Beeby, based on a story Beeby wrote with Gordon Rennie.

Dermot Mulroney will star as a detective in in the independent horror film “Trick,” directed by Patrick Lussier.
Ellen S. Wander of Film Bridge International will produce and handle worldwide sales for the film at the American Film Market, which launches Oct. 31 in Santa Monica, Calif. Gabriela Lugo will also serve as a producer. Film Bridge International also partnered Chimney’s Fredrik Zander to handle post-production. The movie will begin shooting in Los Angeles in December.
The story, written by Lussier and Todd Farmer, centers on an elusive serial killer named Trick, who descends upon a small town annually, bringing terror and death. Mulroney’s no-nonsense detective character has faced Trick once before –- and shot and killed him, or so everyone keeps telling him. Against everyone else’s judgement, he is convinced that Trick is not only alive and well, but the one responsible for a series of gruesome murders.
