While in production for Theater Camp, costume designer Michelle J. Li took a trip down memory lane to visit her high school theater department to figure out what kids were really wearing these days.
“I wanted to gain a sense of authenticity,” Li tells The Hollywood Reporter. With a background in theater that led her to the Carnegie Mellon drama school, along with a lifetime of attending Broadway shows with her family, Li, the daughter of Chinese immigrants, always knew she would end up in a creative field.

The movie finds Peter Quill still grappling with the loss of the Gamora he knew and loved, and the introduction of a Gamora from an alternate dimension. Love is in the air this week, and we’re celebrating romance in horror ahead of Valentine’s Day. For horror fans, nothing says romance quite like Peter Jackson’s Dead Alive (aka Braindead outside the U.S.), a twisted love story between meek mama’s boy Lionel Cosgrove (Timothy Balme) and hungry-for-love shopgirl Paquita Maria Sánchez (Diana Peñalver). The film also happens to have just turned 30, released in the U.S. on February 12, 1993.
In celebration of the splatstick horror rom-com’s 30th anniversary, here are 30 reasons we’re still so in love with Peter Jackson’s Dead Alive/Braindead.
30. The ‘50s Setting
Peter Jackson and co-writers Stephen Sinclair and Frances Walsh ensure you’ve never seen the ’50s depicted like this. The story takes place almost entirely in the quaint city of Wellington in 1957. Pastel houses and trolley cars moving down the main street belie the absolute carnage ensuing.

Survivor is back for it’s 34th season tonight and this “Game Changing” cast is ready to go to war. People are calling this bunch possible the most radical castaways the show has ever seen. But who are they? In getting a closer look at the contestants who make up the Nuku and Mana tribes you’ll actually notice there are a decent amount of familiar faces who have been on past seasons. Can they get past the challenges this time and turn it around? I’m actually predicting “yes” for two people. Below you’ll find my picks for the one female and

For months now, Power has been telling us that “Ghost must die.” This week’s episode brings home the point that if/when James St. Patrick goes to that big nightclub in the sky, Tommy probably won’t be the one who holds the velvet rope aside for him.
Yep, Tommy gets the perfect chance to off his former business partner — per Lobos’ orders — but finds himself literally unable to pull the trigger, a failing he fears will leave him and Holly deader than their pooch once jefe finds out.

As if running a marathon wasn't hard enough. Karen Williams had just 2.5 miles left in the Valles Caldera Marathon on Sunday when she was attacked by a bear. Williams was coming up a small hill during the trail marathon, in the Valles Caldera Nature Preserve in New Mexico, when she saw a bear charging at her from about 15 feet away. "I raised my arms and yelled 'No!' then saw the cub," Williams recounts in the marathon's Facebook group. "Then I was on my a-- and being raked with claws and bitten." The bear ramped up her attack on Williams to defend her cub.

Meet Munawar Bijani, an avid gamer and developer of software who happens to be blind.
The scene outside my apartment window has become a familiar vista over the past few mornings. It’s just turned 6:00 am on a Thursday, and a thick haze of dust has quilted the entire city like a music video from the 80s. I half expect Meatloaf to come cruising down the street on a tricked out hog. Then again, I’m not even sure I would notice if he did.
It’s not out of the norm for me to be up before my alarm sounds off, reminding me that I’m just another sucker with a job to go to. What is a little unusual, however, is the reason why?
I’ve been up for a few hours, desperately trying to remember if there was something important to me that I lost when I was four years old.

On the Meet The Movie Press podcast, The Wrap reporter Jeff Sneider quotes his sources as saying that Hugo and Ender’s Game lead Asa Butterfield is out of the running for the lead role of Peter Parker, aka the amazing Spider-Man.
