Review of Bon Voyage

Bon Voyage (2003)
7/10
Decent romantic crime picture situated at the start of World War 2.

Any bad? The story is a bit over simplified, with some plot turns lacking in credibility. The acting often is almost like stage acting, purposedly overly dramatic, to the point that it is a bit silly looking, withoutit trying to be a comedy.

The story: this is quite a decent romantic crime story about an incredibly famous female French moviestar, who is adored by many men (in power), who (accidentally) kills a powerful man, who tried to rape her. She let's one of her lovers dump the dead body. Will the famous moviestar get away with crime without punishment?

The good: exactly BECAUSE this movie is situated at the start of the World War 2 in France, right before the Germans invade France, this movie is quite an interesting portrait of normal life turning into chaos.

More good: I do have a weakness for Gerard Depardieu. Any movie he is starring in, makes it worthwhile watching for me personally, although his role is only a supporting role.

Typical lighthearted romantic crime/war movie that can be enjoyed by young and old. (No visible violence or horror to be seen).
