Of all the Christmas miracle movies from Hallmark, I think this one makes me contemplate the direction of my life the most. At first, 'A Heavenly Christmas' reverberates in a somewhat depressing and odd way. Eve (Kristin Davis) dies, that's no surprise, the description of the movie already gives that fact away before we begin. Her death is senseless and sad in so many ways, but that's not the sentiment we feel, because we aren't invested in the story at that point, so it brings little impact. But as time passes and we get acquainted with her and the other characters, we soon understand the full depth of 'A Heavenly Christmas'.

An angel (MaClaine) is there to help her find her way to heaven, or to navigate in heaven. She is a sort of moody guardian angel whose task it is to provide help for new angels.

Everything important in Eve's life happens after she's already passed on. She meets a very serious but wonderful man (McCormack) who is raising his niece after her parents recently died in a car accident. His portrayal of Max is absolutely brilliant and he is without question half the heart of this movie.

It's an ironic story, full of existential convictions, sure to make you ask yourself all the important questions about your life. If you're looking for meaning in the inevitable regrets you may one day face, watch 'A Heavenly Christmas'. In some small way this film might help you rekindle a desire for a more meaningful life. Sure, it's just another silly Hallmark "what if" fantasy, but what if you could? You can.
