Breaking Bad is an American crime drama television series that was created and produced by Vince Gilligan for the TV network AMC. It’s about a man named Walter White, who starts as a chemistry teacher but ends up taking drugs.
Walter White works with one of his old students, Jesse Pinkman. The show tells the story of how Walter changes from a regular person into a big drug dealer. At first, he does it because he has cancer and wants to make sure his family is okay when he’s gone.
The show was super successful, making almost $3 billion from ads, merchandise, and more. But it was also really expensive to make, costing $3 million per episode. Now, let’s talk about how much money the actors from Breaking Bad have made.

So what can be said about Andy Dick that the paparazzi and nearly every Judge from West Virginia to Los Angeles hasn’t already said? He was once a rising star in the comedy world with lovably nerdy characters on hit TV series before his demons grabbed a hold of him and took him down an over 25 year path of endless headlines with his name often times preceding the word “arrested.” In those years, he has compiled more Mug Shots than Head Shots and went from Star on the Rise to Registered Sex Offender. Yeah, I don’t know how else to say this other than: Wtf Happened to Andy Dick?!
But as always we must begin at the beginning and the beginning began on his birthday, December 21, 1965 in Charleston, South Carolina. After graduating high school in the suburbs of Illinois, Andy would study at the famed Second City and...

Television series don't always end on their own terms. Some of the greatest shows in the medium's history have been canceled due to low ratings before they could finish telling their overarching story or just as they were hitting their stride creatively. Some of the most egregious examples of series getting the axe before their time include "My So-Called Life," "Arrested Development," "Frank's Place," "Sports Night," "I'll Fly Away," "Deadwood," and "Mindhunters." It's possible no one has had a more brutal small-screen run than Judd Apatow, who, before he became a hit-making film producer, watched helplessly as three superb, critically acclaimed comedies — "The Ben Stiller Show," "Freaks and Geeks" and "Undeclared" — failed to earn a second season.
Sometimes, fan enthusiasm results in these works getting revived in some incarnation or another, and, unfortunately, the results are often unsightly. But at least there's a reason for going back. The same isn't...

Tom Cruise’s Les Grossman character in Tropic Thunder ended up being one of his most memorable performances. But Cruise only ended up in the movie thanks to Stiller parodying the actor years ago.

The Ben Stiller Show was the comic actor’s own sketch comedy show that aired on MTV and Fox for 1 season. The series was known for poking fun at actors, movies, and television shows at the time. Blockbuster superstar Tom Cruise was one of a few celebrities Stiller parodied in his program.

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Bob Odenkirk is entering the “Better Call Saul” episode “Saul Gone” as his 2023 Emmy Award submission for Best Drama Actor. “Saul Gone” aired on August 15, 2022, and is the 13th and final episode of the AMC show’s sixth and final season.
In “Saul Gone,” Jimmy McGill (Odenkirk) faces the consequences of the conflicts caused by his three identities: the actions he made under his birth name of McGill, the federal crimes he committed as Saul Goodman, and the schemes he ran in Omaha as Gene Takavic. The episode also sees Jimmy and Kim Wexler (Emmy nominee Rhea Seehorn) coming face-to-face for the first time in six years. Three flashbacks investigate roads not travelled as Saul thinks about the person he has become and the people he lost along the way. The episode marks the series finale. “Saul Gone” was written and directed by “Better Call Saul...

As Saul Goodman once said, “Money is the point!” And so too are awards, at least according to Bob Odenkirk, who played the slippery lawyer on Better Call Saul (and some other show…). With the Emmy nominations just one month away, Odenkirk said he would very much like Better Call Saul to be in the conversation.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Odenkirk said, “Oh my God, listen, a nomination would be everything…We were so well received by critics and the audience. We were so thankful after Breaking Bad to get the good vibes from everyone and to follow through to the end.” He added, “I mean, I’m so proud of that show. I always will be…It would mean so much. I’m crossing my fingers and hoping.”

What’s it going to take for “Better Call Saul” to finally win an Emmy? As we all know, this is the absolute last opportunity for the show to score a prize — any prize. Thanks to AMC’s decision to split the show’s final season into two halves, we still have the show’s final six episodes for your consideration — and even though we said goodbye to “Saul” nearly a year ago, it still deserves attention.
And of course, at the top of that list is star Bob Odenkirk, who turned what began as a guest spot on “Breaking Bad” into one of the most iconic characters in TV history. Last year we finally got an Emmy nomination for Rhea Seehorn, and the show overall has landed 46 noms over the years. But that’s not enough.

“The Boys” season three continued to be as bloody, brilliant, and bloody brilliant as ever as the Amazon Prime Video series ramped it up another notch with its acclaimed superhero satire.
The show — a provocative, dark take on superheroes — follows Karl Urban‘s Billy Butcher and Jack Quaid‘s Hughie as members of a team hoping to take down the corrupt, evil superheroes and their parent company/creators, Vought International. That company is headed up by a PR-obsessed superhero team called The Seven, led by Anthony Starr‘s Homelander. Since season one, Butcher and co have tried their utmost to reveal the sins of The Seven to the world but, in season three, they went to new extremes to realize their goals and Butcher was pushed to his limit.
As Butcher, Urban is the gruff, swaggering beating heart of the show. Blood-pumping, testosterone-flying — Urban plays Butcher like Jack Sparrow as a football hooligan.

Bob Odenkirk could find himself in the rare Emmy air this year. AMC will submit Odenkirk’s new series, “Lucky Hank,” in comedy categories for this year’s Emmy competition, Variety has confirmed.
Of course, AMC is also submitting the final episodes of Odenkirk’s “Better Call Saul” in the drama fields. Should Odenkirk be nominated in both the best drama actor and best comedy actor races, he would become the first performer in history to be nominated in both genres in the same year.
Several performers have been nominated and even won Emmys as both drama and comedy leads — but never at the same time. It’s a possibility: Odenkirk has been nominated five times in the best drama actor category for “Better Call Saul,” and this will be his final opportunity to compete in that race for “Saul”. Meanwhile, Odenkirk has been known first and foremost as a comedy performer,...

Bob Odenkirk played the character of Saul Goodman for 13 years, first appearing in the second season of "Breaking Bad" to guide Walter White into the depths of the criminal underworld. Future appearances marked him as a key player within the show's supporting cast, able to function as a comic archetype as well as a moral barometer for just how far White had fallen in his quest for power. Two years after "Breaking Bad" ended, Odenkirk returned to lead "Better Call Saul," a spin-off that arguably surpassed its parent series by the final episodes. Odenkirk received five Golden Globe nominations, five Emmy nominations for "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series," and another six Emmy nominations for "Outstanding Drama Series" in his capacity as a producer for "Better Call Saul." Taken separately, Odenkirk's performances in "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul" are impressive. Together, they represent a process of long-form character...

In a casting that raises several questions, Ben Stiller is in final talks to star in “Three Identical Strangers,” a limited series adaptation of the acclaimed documentary film, according to Variety.
The 2018 film, which was directed by Tim Wardle and won the U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for Storytelling at the Sundance Film Festival, tells the story of Bobby Shafran, David Kellman, and Eddy Galland — three identical triplets who meet by chance as adults, and the revelation of the undisclosed scientific experiment that separated them by birth. Upon its release, “Three Identical Strangers” received positive reviews, and made the shortlist for the Oscars’ Best Documentary Feature category.
Stiller will play all three of the brothers as adults. What makes his casting unusual is that Galland died by suicide in 1995, when he was 34. Stiller is currently 57, nearly 25 years older than Galland was at time of death. In addition, the meat...

Beloved actor Bob Odenkirk currently comes in third place to win Best Drama Actor for “Better Call Saul,” according to Gold Derby’s Emmy predictions. His 5/1 racetrack odds tie him with 2020 winner Jeremy Strong (“Succession”) and put him behind leading contenders Lee Jung-jae (“Squid Game”) and Brian Cox (“Succession”). The other nominees are Adam Scott (“Severance”) and Jason Bateman (“Ozark”). But don’t count out Odenkirk’s Emmy chances just yet. In fact, he still has the unwavering support of six Experts, three Editors and three Top 24 Users.
The half-dozen Gold Derby Experts who predict Odenkirk will prevail on Monday night are Christopher Rosen (Gold Derby), Tim Gray (Variety), Debbie Day (Rotten Tomatoes), Matthew Jacobs (Thrillist), Susan King (Gold Derby) and Ken Tucker (unaffiliated). The three staff editors backing him are Rosen, Matt Noble and Riley Chow. And the trio of Top 24 Users are Thomas Dolby, Nakss and Giuliano Demonte.

Jason Bateman took home his first and to date only Emmy three years ago — for directing the opener of “Ozark’s” second season. Even though the multihyphenate is primarily known as an actor, he has yet to win an Emmy for acting, losing twice for “Arrested Development” in Best Comedy Actor, once for “The Outsider” in Best Drama Guest Actor (2020) and three times for “Ozark” itself in Best Drama Actor (2018-2020). Bob Odenkirk is up for Best Drama Actor for the fifth time at the Emmys, having been nominated for every season of “Better Call Saul” except for the last, when he was oddly and egregiously snubbed for his performance as Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman in the fifth cycle. This is his 11th nomination for the AMC series – he’s also a producer on the show and nominated for Best Drama – and his 18th overall, having won for the writing teams of sketch comedies “Saturday Night Live” in 1989 and “The Ben Stiller Show” in 1993.

It’s a little over a month since Ben Stiller returned from Ukraine. It was there, as part of his work representing the Un Refugee Agency, that Stiller was granted an audience with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, currently defending his country from a war of Russian aggression. It isn’t often that Ben Stiller is starstruck, but he marveled at Zelenskyy’s path, from comic actor to unflinching war premier. “I was really taken by the resilience of the people of Ukraine, and of the President,” he says now. “His incredible sense of how he has risen to the moment and offered his people leadership and true resolve to get through this awful situation.”

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Bob Odenkirk is entering the “Better Call Saul” episode “Plan and Execution” as his 2022 Emmy Awards submission for Best Drama Actor. This program aired May 23 and was the seventh episode of the sixth and final season for the AMC show.
In this installment, a last-minute snag threatens to derail Jimmy (Odenkirk) and Kim’s (Rhea Seehorn) meticulously laid plans. After scrambling to restage their photos with the actor impersonating Casimiro (John Posey), they pass them to Howard’s (Patrick Fabian) private investigator, who is actually working for them. Later, Howard pieces together the entire con and confronts Jimmy and Kim at their apartment.

Apple TV Plus is finalizing its Emmy plans for acclaimed hit “Severance,” which just had its season finale last week. Variety has learned exclusively how the streamer plans on dividing its large ensemble into the drama categories.
Stars Adam Scott and Britt Lower will try their luck in the lead drama actor and lead drama actress races. At the same time, Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman and Jen Tullock will angle for supporting drama attention. Perhaps the biggest mystery of who may end up where, Christopher Walken will not be submitted for guest actor in a drama, as originally presumed by Apple because of his role in more than half of the episodes of the season. He will compete alongside his co-stars Turturro and Tillman in supporting actor drama. The deadline for entering programs for primetime programming is May 12, so any of these plans are subject to change.

Before Bob Odenkirk stepped into the role of a scamming lawyer, his career was all about making people laugh, either by writing or acting. In fact, before he landed the iconic “Breaking Bad” part in 2009, he’d never seen an episode of the critically acclaimed drama. He always believed he’d remain in comedy.
“I loved writing comedy so much that I figured I’d stay in that corner. I loved it and I still do love it,” he tells Variety. While currently in production on the final season of “Better Call Saul,” Odenkirk is already looking to what’s next: A “pure comedy” project with David Cross, a longtime friend and collaborator.
Just over a decade after taking the “Bad” part, Odenkirk — who won two Emmys for his work in comedy — has earned 13 Emmy nominations for his drama work in “Better Call Saul.” And on April 18, he’ll receive...

When the character of Saul Goodman first turned up on "Breaking Bad," he was seen as an injection of comic relief into the increasingly dramatic series if for no other reason than his being portrayed by actor Bob Odenkirk. Before his appearance on the show, Odenkirk had been most well known for his storied comedy career, being an integral part of series like "The Larry Sanders Show," "The Ben Stiller Show," and "Mr. Show with Bob and David."
However, as "Breaking Bad" developed and Saul was eventually spun off into his own prequel series, "Better Call Saul," Odenkirk started to show more facets of...

Judd Apatow has hammered a multi-year production film and TV pact across NBCUniversal including Universal Pictures and Universal Studio Group. The parties’ working relationship began with 2005’s $177 million-plus grossing comedy blockbuster The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Apatow’s movies have grossed close to $3 billion around the world, the studio’s most successful original comedies.
Apatow is currently in post-production on the Billy Eichner-starring, Nick Stoller-directed Bros, which he produced. The movie is the first major studio film to feature an all LGBTQ+ principal cast. The movie hits theaters on September 30.
On the TV side, the new deal will cover Apatow’s work for both internal and external networks, including NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock. Multiple projects are in development including Dystrophia, a co-production between Utv and A24, starring comedian Steve Way (Ramy) and co-written with Jonathan Braylock and Ramy Youssef. Youssef is also producing with Apatow through his Cairo Cowboy production company.

Chicago – The career of comedian Bobcat Goldthwait is a wild roller coaster of hilarity and passion, so it stands to reason that his latest film is called “Joy Ride.” The film, one of the funniest stand up docs you’ll ever see, also features Bobcat’s comedy partner Dana Gould on a stand up tour right before the pandemic. It’s available through VOD and iTunes, click Joy Ride for details.
“Joy Ride” is essentially a stand-up comedy tour documentary, because it is rooted in the career overviews of Bobcat and Dana. Both men have had trials and tribulations in show business, based on backgrounds that included difficulties in their youth. These situations become their comedy in the film, with Gould especially opening up on a complete meltdown in the 1990s. The Bobcat past highlights are especially telling, and has precipitated a long running feud between the comic and his fellow traveler Jerry Seinfeld.

Bob Odenkirk has seriously become quite the star these days! From Breaking Bad to Better Call Saul to the brand new action comedy flick Nobody, the dude's really got some depth. I still remember him as one of the stars of The Ben Stiller Show waaaaaay back when. Bob's been around for quite a while and he also used to be on SNL as a writer. While speaking with Howard Stern, he shared a funny little story about how 1991 host Jeremy Irons (Zack Snyder's Justice League) reacted…...

Photo: 'Nobody'/Universal Pictures Saul’s to the Wall When Bob Odenkirk was cast in ‘Breaking Bad’ as the wisecracking lawyer Saul Goodman, it was something of a casting coup. Sure, ‘Breaking Bad’ was often one of the funniest shows on TV, but it carefully balanced its gallows humor with brutally tragic gut punches. Odenkirk cut his teeth at the Second City comedy club, writing for ‘Saturday Night Live’, Conan O’Brien, and ‘The Ben Stiller Show’ before teaming up with David Cross to create the cult comedy classic ‘Mr. Show’. ‘Breaking Bad’, at its core, was a poker-faced drama about a terminally ill chemist cooking meth to provide for his family. Would Odenkirk’s yuks tip the scale to absurdity? Wyatt Oleff, Kevin Pollak and Janeane Garofalo will star in Mark Rosman’s “In My Life.”
As the film’s title suggests, the comedy/drama is inspired by the music of the Beatles. It follows Evan, a 16-year-old John Lennon wannabe, who is thrilled when the Beatles move in next door to his Beverly Hills home before playing the Hollywood Bowl in 1965. He is desperate to meet his rock idol, while Lennon wants to meet Elvis before the rest of the Beatles do that night. To make it happen, they spend a day together that will forever change their lives. The movie and the places it remembers have a personal connection for Rosman.
“One day in 1965, I found the Beatles were right next door to my house, and this became the launching point for a movie about my youth, my love of music, the 60’s and a very close call...

It's hard to remember a time when the Judd Apatow crowd wasn't cranking out movies at a rapid clip. By 2005, the stand-up comic and writer-producer on The Ben Stiller Show and The Larry Sanders Show, Apatow had already cranked out the woefully short-lived Freaks and Geeks with Paul Feige, created the...
