The Disney Machine pumps again
JackReese26 February 2002
So, I really didn't want to watch this. I work at a video store so I get to watch everything before everybody else. Usually that's a good thing. Cinderella 2 is just one pointless movie. One little plot point after another that simply joins characters back together again. Don't ruin the first by watching this one. Walt had the idea. No sequels. Too bad he's still not around to enforce that idea.

Just okay
brookenichole-980544 September 2021
Cinderella 2 isn't terrible, it just isn't great either. There were some parts I enjoyed like the last story with Anastasia or the Prince finally having more of a role. I love the new voices and the music was great. But otherwise this movie is pretty dull compared to other sequels. The third movie is the best and does it's story wonderfully.

As a trilogy of short stories, this is not as dull as "Belle's Magical World", which still doesn't mean it's very good
Beta_Gallinger9 February 2011
Although released over half a century after Disney's version of "Cinderella", this is a sequel to the popular animated feature from 1950. I don't recall ever watching that particular Disney cartoon from start to finish until just a few months ago, even though I do remember seeing some of it as a kid. I didn't find that film to be the masterpiece many people consider it to be, but thought it was pretty good. I know I've pointed this out before with other films of this kind, but since this is yet another direct-to-video sequel from Disney (some of these are sequels to recent films from the company, while others are sequels to ones produced by Walt Disney himself decades earlier, and this is one of the latter), its mediocrity is not surprising.

The Fairy Godmother helps the mice make a new book about Cinderella, featuring three stories taking place after the events of the first one. The first of these stories is "Aim to Please", in which Cinderella and Prince Charming return from their honeymoon. The prince is then forced to leave with his father, and while they are away, a woman named Prudence is left to teach Cinderella how to be a princess and put her in charge of an upcoming banquet, but the new princess does not like what she learns. In the second story, "Tall Tail", Jaq the mouse feels he can't be of any help to Cinderella due to his small size and decides he would rather be a human, but this may not work out as he expected. Finally, in "An Uncommon Romance", Cinderella's stepsister, Anastasia, falls in love with a baker, but he is a commoner, so her mother and sister Drizella do not approve. Cinderella begins to help her stepsister try to win this baker's heart, but the two of them don't exactly see eye to eye on how to do this.

One thing these direct-to-video Disney sequels are good at is having inferior comic relief to their theatrical predecessors, and "Cinderella II: Dreams Come True" is no exception. I didn't even care much for the mice in the original movie, but still found some laugh-out-loud moments. However, I found none of those in this MUCH later sequel. In fact, I hardly even smiled while watching this one. The three stories are not among the most boring I've ever seen in a movie, but they're usually not too interesting. I'm sure they are entertaining to many kids, but are perhaps a little too simple to really have much entertainment value for adult viewers. If each of these segments featured lots of good humour in them to make viewers laugh, it could have made a major difference, but that's unfortunately nowhere near the case. The four songs sung by Brooke Allison don't help with the entertainment value, either. Some good traditional animation is featured here, with some nice, colourful backgrounds, but this is certainly not enough to make up for the significant problems this sequel suffers from.

Having previously seen "Belle's Magical World", the second direct-to-video release featuring the characters from Disney's hit 1991 adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast", this "Cinderella" sequel naturally reminded me of that film. Both feature three different short stories (the DVD version of the former features four, but I've only seen the VHS version and don't intend to watch that third installment in the "Beauty and the Beast" trilogy again in ANY format), all of which have life lessons in them. Since I watched "Cinderella II: Dreams Come True" about three years after seeing Disney's third "Beauty and the Beast" release, comparing them may not be as easy, but at least I can say this "Cinderella" film has better animation, and I didn't find the stories to be QUITE as dull as the ones in the other mentioned direct-to-video release, so I guess this one is slightly superior. However, that's not saying much.

Walt Disney must be rolling around in his grave
blackjack1288 March 2002
I don't mind the sequels for the modern films, (example: The Lion King) but the Disney-Disney movies, the ones that were directed and produced by Walt himself (example: Fantasia)should be left alone. all these sequels! Roy Disney must be running out of ideas.

What was Disney thinking?
MaryPoppins8919 July 2004
Warning: Spoilers
Possible Spoilers, Perhaps. I must say that "Cinderella II: Dreams Come True" is one of the worst movies ever made. First of all, the movie was made during the height of Disney's sequel rampage. It was created around the same time as "The Little Mermaid II," "The Jungle Book II," and "Peter Pan II," all of which were disservices to their original film classics. (Disney also made "The Hunchback of Notre Dame II" and "Atlantis II," but I'm going to drop that topic because their original movies were never really classics in the first place.") Let me go ahead and say that I am an avid supporter of good Disney films, and I absolutely adore the original Disney "Cinderella." The sequel to "Cinderella," however, was a waste of time. The character of Cinderella in the sequel was so very unlike the original girl that I grew up watching. In the original, Cinderella was kind and loving. The new Cinderella had very out-of-character moments with current-era phrasing like, "I'm going to do this banquet my way!" Let me also tell you that new Cinderella (as I have affectionately named her) says, "Ewww!" That is the anti-Cinderella. I try to find the best in people, but in the sequel, Anastasia, one of the stepsisters, is good! What the heck? Why? They made it all out to be like Lady Tremaine and Drizella are just horrible family members for poor little Anastasia. My question to the world: did the people at Disney watch the original "Cinderella" when making this sequel? Well, it surely doesn't seem so. If I remember correctly, Anastasia was just as abusive to Cinderella as Drizella and Lady Tremaine. I am all for redemption and forgiveness, but there was no point of redemption for Anastasia in this movie. In the first one, Anastasia was evil. In the second one, she is good. One just can't leave a story like this. I hope Disney realizes that this movie, among other movies, is shaming Walt Disney's name. Perhaps now that Michael Eisner is gone, things will start shaping up around the House of Mouse.

Huh?
kaipi-14 May 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I've got a question for those who thought of this idea. Why? What made them think to make a second movie of this. If memory serves, didn't Cinderella end with "They all lived happily ever after"? I'm pretty sure it did, or it was implied. Wait a minute, if they all lived happily ever after, how could there be a sequel? Unless they were trying to make the most boring story in history, there couldn't be a sequel. I mean sure, they could have Cinderella singing about nonsense for two hours, but why? A movie that ends in "happily ever after" can not have a sequel; if it does then they don't live happily ever after! Something's got to go wrong which causes problems with the first ending! Why? That's not right, it's evil. That's my final word on the matter.

How... disappointing... And the mice speak too much!
EmeraldMaz26 April 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I grew up watching the original Disney Cinderella, and have always loved it so much that the tape is a little worn.

Accordingly, I was excited to see that Cinderella 2 was coming on TV and I would be able to see it.

I should have known better.

This movie joins the club of movie sequels that should have just been left alone. It holds absolutely NONE of the originals super charm! It seems, to me, quite rough, and almost brutal, right from the (don't)Sing-a-longs to the characterization.

While I remember the character's telling a story through a song, this film's soundtrack was laid over the top, and didn't seem to fit. Jaq's transformation into a human is a prime example: Where he was walking around eating an apple and adding a few little quips in here and there, he should have been dancing around and singing about how great it was to be tall! And in the ballroom, there's old barn dance type country music. It's as though the writers forgot where and when this story was set. The upbeat fiddles certainly didn't fit.

Even the artwork and animation in Cinderella 2 isn't up to scratch with the original. The artwork in this film seems quite raw and less detailed. And we see part of Cinderella's hoop skirt, which doesn't feel right.

The movie itself could have been it's own story, I think that it should have been just that. I wouldn't say that I hate it, but I believe that it had many shortcomings. It seems to downgrade in a significant way from the beloved Cinderella original.

Not as bad as everyone made it out to be
Daawesomesquee15 November 2009
Of course, the original is better, but this isn't as bad as everyone says! Yes, it is made up into 3 stories, but hey, so what?! I thought it was quite good to be honest. I actually liked how Anastasia changed a little when she fell in love, it shows what love can do. The stories were not so bad either.

I liked Cinderella's voice better in this too. I have nothing against her voice in the original, but I just think it sounds better here, more nicer. I liked her personality in this too, she had more of a backbone, yet she was still kind.

So, I'll give Cinderella II:Dreams Come True a 7/10.

Good with kids under 10, otherwise hard to appreciate
jonathanwr3 July 2006
I've always thought that Cinderella II was the worst movie I've ever seen, (followed by Peter Pan 2, and some other sequels like The Lion King 2 and the Hunchback of Notre Dame 2). All these movies are made with the same idea; because the movie has no plot, they try to make up for that by filling it with jokes. I'm not saying the jokes are bad, but they make up most of the movie. The first time I saw the movie, I would have given it a 1/10. But now I think about it, most kids don't care how good the original movie was, they just care that the movie is entertaining. I still think the movie was a bad sequel, but that doesn't mean it's horrible. Now I think it deserves a 3/10.

Cute but rather unoriginal sequel!
TheLittleSongbird6 March 2009
The original is a relaxing watch, with some truly memorable animated sequences. Unfortunately, the sequel, while not the worst of the DTV sequels completely lacks the sparkle.

The biggest letdown is a lack of a story. Like Belle's Magical World, the characters are told through a series of vignettes. Magical World, while marginally better, still manages to make a mess of the story. In between the vignettes, we see the mice at work, and I personally think the antics of Jaq and Gus are the redeeming merits of this movie.

The first vignette is the best, about Cinderella getting used to being to being a princess. This is the best, because the mice were at their funniest here. The worst of the vignettes, when Jaq turns into a human, is cute at times, but has a lack of imagination. The last vignette, when Anastasia falls in love, was also cute. The problem was, I couldn't imagine Anastasia being friendly with Cinderella, as I considered her the meaner out of the stepsisters. This was also marred by a rather ridiculous subplot about Lucifer falling in love with PomPom.

The incidental music was very pleasant to listen to;however I hated the songs, they were really uninspired, and nothing like the beautiful Tchaikovsky inspired melodies of the original.

The characters were the strongest development here. Cinderella while still caring, had lost her sincerity, and a lot of her charm from the original, though she does wear some very pretty clothes. The Duke had some truly funny moments but they weren't enough to save the film, likewise with Prudence and the king. As I mentioned, the mice were the redeeming merits of the movie, as they alone contributed to the film's cuteness. I have to say also the animation is colourful and above average, and the voice acting was surprisingly good.

All in all, a cute, if unoriginal sequel, that was marred by the songs and a lack of a story. 4/10 for the mice, the voice acting, the animation and some pretty dresses. Bethany Cox

A very cute and funny sequel for everyone to enjoy
ja_kitty_7111 October 2007
I was shocked and surprised by the negative reviews I saw on the web. I thought Cinderella II (as well as III) was a very cute and funny sequel for everyone to enjoy, including kids and adults like me; I am 22 years old.

I also found it a very informative film; it shows lessons on being true to yourself and following your heart. I thought it had great animation. Additionally, I felt Brooke Allison's singing was excellent, and the voice casting was excellent. Since this film has been divided into three flashbacks or stories, my favorite out of the three is the story of when Jaq the mouse became a human for a day, thanks to the Fairy Godmother and her magic.

Cuteness, but could have been better.
MissLemon18717 March 2002
The sequel to the ever popular Cinderella story reminded me somewhat of what they did with one of the Beauty & the Beast movies. It's basically three short stories rolled into 1.

OK, the mice are adorable (I love Gus! He's sooo cute!), and Lucifer's awesome (as usual). I liked some of the newer characters as well, (Pom Pom was adorable and I did like Prudence.). Still, the storyline was somewhat limited, but still very cute. So, I vote 7/10.

For Pre-K little girls; this is NOT Cinderella...
Dragoneyed36310 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
That's not an understatement, it's just this film's primary target audience, and the sad truth. Anyone else over the age of 4 or with any smidgen of coherent movie critiquing ability will most likely be put off completely or entirely unamused.

The charming and enlightening characters of Cinderella are butchered to the point of being unrecognizable. Jaq and Gus are given extremely too much dialogue, to the point where it could make any viewer cringe. Originally they had very swift and precise dialogue, especially Jaq; Gus Gus could hardly speak his name correctly, but here he is spouting off multiple lines like he took lessons from Shakespeare. Their voices are cute as bit side characters saying some words and lines here and there, but for a total run of the film, it gets incredibly tiresome.

Another huge awful change is in the character of Anastasia, who all of her demeanor is explained in a quick, sudden "she just wants love"?... What a cop-out. So the evil stepsister, one of the critical sub-villains in Cinderella, is only acting out cause she wants to get hooked up? This theme is carried over into the less catastrophic but still unnecessary Cinderella III. It's so out of character it's baffling. Either of the stepsister's I know from Cinderella would have still been tyrants, married or not. They were not nice, and incapable of change up until the very last minute of Cinderella. Lucifer is gone until the third segment without an explanation and replaced with "Pom Pom", a big white cat who I'm assuming is one of the stepsister's because nothing at all is explained about her. She just shows up out of nowhere and we're supposed to accept it... Even Fairy Godmother mumbles and crudely utters "Bippity-boppity-what's it called?" That's her character. She forgets her own magic words...

Which brings me to Cinderella herself. Some of the lines we're supposed to be fed are sheer infuriating excrement. There are some of her lines that are so disrespectful and ungraceful it's nauseating. Her rejection of traditions, her morose outlook on people she used to be just like. The princess is reduced to a vapid, vain bimbo, and it's honestly painful to watch. The only character that walks away with even a glimmer of originality is Bruno the dog, which is saying a lot.

The animation is choppy. The songs are the absolute worst. I blocked them all out they were so bad. I don't know what I was expecting. I have seen a handful of Disney sequels/prequels/midquels before this. Some are fair (the Lilo & Stitch sequels), others are subpar (Fox and the Hound 2, Little Mermaid II) and some even quite great (The Lion King sequels, Bambi II), but Cinderella II: Dreams Come True is among the worst. Like I said, little girls will enjoy it, but I sincerely ask you put on something much more rewarding and entertaining, like the original Cinderella, or any of the 90s renaissance before direct-to-DVD cash-ins were shelled out for every one of them. It's still not as bad as Pocahontas II... I can give it that...

Surprise, surprise
sngbrd3918 June 2004
Warning: Spoilers
To preface this review, I haven't seen this in about two years, so I might not be remembering all of it correctly. However, I do remember that I watched this as part of a "bad Disney sequels" double feature along with Hunchback of Notre Dame II. (Yes, I admit; I'm a bad movie masochist!) Surprisingly enough, though I can't say I would watch Cinderella II again of my own free will anytime soon, I can say that it somehow isn't as bad as I was expecting. Of all the Disney sequels I've seen (and yes, I have seen quite a few of them), this is one of the least lousy. The three-story format seems to work a lot better with the television-quality, way-too-bright-and-none-too-subtle art and animation; it was nice to see that they were trying to evoke episodes of a television show rather than labor under the pretense of it being an actual movie. In light of this, it might make sense to break this review down into three sections, one for each story. (Possible spoilers ahead.)

Cindy Plans a Party: Yawn. This is, by far, the worst of the segments. Cinderella, now in charge of the Ministry of Parties or some such bogus organization, has to convince the higher-ups that yes, peasants should be allowed to participate in the next royal shindig. That's about it. Very dull; no compelling reason to really watch it because nothing actually happens. Moving on...

Are You a Man or a Mouse? - Make Up Your Mind Already!: Jaq, one of Cindy's mouse friends and one of the overall highlights of the entire endeavor, decides that, as a mouse, he's too small to really be of any help to her around the palace. So, thanks to a spell from the Fairy Godmother, he becomes a man, who also, inevitably, gets in the way and isn't much use to anyone. This one would be fairly silly as well, except that Jaq is a pretty endearing little guy. It also doesn't hurt that one of my favorite voice actors (Rob Paulsen of Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain fame) does his voice, and because Jaq becomes human, the voice hasn't been sped up beyond recognition.

The, Um...Evil(?) Stepsister: So, we barely get to see Cinderella in this one, but considering that she's not the most exciting character, it's nice for the spotlight to shift for a moment. Instead, this features as our protagonist none other than...Anastasia, one of Cindy's evil stepsisters. Huh? Well, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that she had a change of heart after Cinderella got hitched to her Prince (who sounds eerily like Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid; is there some funny business going on in Disney fairy-tale land?) It wouldn't seem that Anastasia, being somewhat ugly as well as formerly evil, would have too many prospects in the area of love, but her mother still wants to see her marry rich, which is why she is shocked and appalled when Anastasia falls in love with...a common baker! (Cue Hitchcock-esque horror music.) But with Cindy's help, all works out, and she gets her baker. Awww.

Overall, Cinderella II is pretty bland and not very interesting, but it's definitely an improvement over other Disney sequels, because it's much less painful to have three small segments of sub-par animation and storytelling rather than one big dose. There are actually enjoyable parts, even in the thrown-together interstitials between the stories featuring the Fairy Godmother and the mice. All in all, it's a nice little diversion to rent for an evening if you're bored and don't have anything else to do.

Only for kids
kelly-31221 June 2006
If you are under the age of 6 or 7, then you're going to really enjoy this movie. My youngest daughter is glued to the TV when she watches it. As an adult, I can't stand it!! I'm all up for sequels....when they have a decent storyline. But this is nowhere near up to standard. Please forgive me for slating what is after all a kid's film, but when you have to sit through it nearly every day when your kids who love it so much, you'll understand why. My daughter would watch this film over and over again on the same day if we let her.

I've given this film 4 out of 10 purely for the fact that it keeps my youngest entertained.

Cinderella 2
lilmufasa221 July 2008
I'll just put it out here, that was the Worst sequel to a classic Disney film I've EVER seen. In 1950, Disney released what I hail as one of his greatest films of all time. Now Take away the great songs, add a poor plot that resembles that of a lost TV show. "Put it together and what do you get?" the biggest load of Crud I've ever seen. After i saw this, I thought it was all over for Disney. Cinderella should've ended with, "and they lived happily ever after." not this garbage. This film did not deserve a sequel like this. I thought it would be like "A twist in time" which was moderate but better than this. Also, What do we care of Anastasia? She switched sides like Iago did, but it didn't help anyone.

So these sequels begin
ericstevenson6 November 2017
I knew I'd have to deal with the direct to video Disney sequels this month, but honestly they're probably no worse than most of the other direct to video movies here. This movie is divided into three parts and that probably makes it all the more pointless. The first part is probably the worst as it just has Cinderella adjust to life as a princess. It's boring and serves no purpose. Most of these stories make no sense at all. In the second one, Jaq is turned into a human. Jaq even flat out requests that the story not be told because of how boring it is. Even he hates this movie! He has to stop an elephant, so he's turned back into a mouse because elephants are afraid of mice.

Uh...if elephants are afraid of mice, wouldn't that just make the elephant more agitated? In the final part, Cinderella tries to get Anastasia a boyfriend. There's this one scene where she thinks her boyfriend has found someone else and she leaves. Why is this confusion never brought up again? Also, the mice make two cats fall in love. The female cat gets covered in water which makes her reject the other cat for absolutely no reason. I do like the idea of Cinderella helping her stepsisters. The Cinderella films, whether they be animated or live-action have given us great entertainment and this is the worst of their kind. *1/2

Underrated
kikiboo_83 February 2022
It's much better than the original movie. I mean come on, why does it have such a low rating here?

In the first movie Cinderella was dull as a dishrag and had no personality and simply fell in love literally overnight, had her happy ending and that's it.

At least in this one she has personality, dialogue, choices, she isn't just a silly singing poor girl. Oh and Anastasia's side story was cute, can't deny.

It's just more fun and all the characters show some development and personality.

Does not work
rain_bow955 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Being the 7 year old kid I was when this first came out on VHS, I watched this like it was another Disney Princess movie with no problem at all. Some 16 years later after watching it again, I did catch on that it was not as good as I remember. In Cinderella, there was an actual plot based on Perrault's version of the fairytale: a young woman who was regularly abused by her stepmother and stepsisters gets help from her fairy godmother to get to the prestigious royal ball for one night. In this sequel, there's no real plot, as it is just three stories being told by the mice and fairy godmother about...nothing really. The first story tells of Cinderella handling princess duties right after becoming a princess. The second story is about Jack complaining about being too small to help Cinderella now that she's a princess getting help from other people in the castle. So the fairy godmother Grant's his wish of being a human so he could help Cinderella better. The third story is about Cinderella helping her stepsister, Anastasia, win the heart of a Baker.

This movie does not quite work because it focuses on things that honestly does not matter. It just comes off as being lazy, except of course with the great animation and great voice acting. While the characters were not terrible, they still kind of lacked development, especially the prince because like in the first movie, we barely saw him. Hell he was literally out the picture once the movie started!! The mice appeared a bit too regularly considering the movie should be about the title character. The fairy godmother lives in the palace?? Anastasia is the only character who did develop more (even better development in Cindere lla 3), which honestly made me wish there was a movie about her alone. And the stories weren't good either because everything was too rushed and boring for there to be an actual plot. Of course all this would later change when Cinderalla 3 comes out, which was a WAY BETTER sequel with an actual plot. This movie is good for entertaining the little ones, but I'd probably just skip this one and show the third movie instead.

Not that good for a sequel but not bad either
flyingamon26 March 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Cinderella II shows the life of Cinderella and the mice in the castle in three small stories. Although each story is certainly not bad it maybe had been better if they had made it into one big story. The second story where mouse Jaq becomes human because of the fairy godmother's spell seems a bit out of place not contributing to the characters' development. It would suit more as an episode of a Cinderella TV show. The best story is the last one where Anastasia (Cinderella's stepsister) falls in love with the town's baker. She also makes friendship with Cinderella meaning that she was not as mean as the original movie portrayed her. I think the score on this one is too low. It's entertaining but as a sequel it falls flat. Thank God they made a third movie where they got things right. The inclusion of the white cat Pon-Pon as the mice new nemesis was very nice nevertheless.

Silly, but satisfying for young children
Smells_Like_Cheese10 January 2008
I never had an interest in seeing the Cinderella sequels, don't get me wrong, I love the original Cinderella, but I was nervous what they would do to the story, so I decided not to see them. But recently they've been showing the commercials that they're putting the Cinderella movies back in the "disney vault", so due to brain washing, I rented Cinderella 2 and watched it last night and I have to say that as silly as it was, for the audience it was made for, children, it was cute. The animation was colorful, the songs are still catchy, and the stories are charming. I think it was a little weird to watch because it had been almost 50 years since the first Cinderella was created, and hearing the new voices was a little strange, but this wasn't a bad addition to the Cinderella stories.

What happened to Cinderella after she and the prince married? What happened to the mice and her fairy godmother? The mice and the fairy godmother decide to write a book on Cinderella, what has happened to her and them. The first story is Cinderella adjusting to becoming a "proper" princess, but she learns that being herself is what truly matters. The next story is how Jaq, the mouse, wants to help Cinderella, but can't, since he's so small. He asks the fairy godmother to turn him into something bigger, she turns him into a human, but once again, he learns that being himself may help more in the end. And Cinderella's step sister, Anastasia, falls in love with the town baker, but her mother wishes for her to marry a higher class, and Anastasia learns that maybe a change in attitude will with the baker over.

Cinderella II: Dreams Come True is of course the direct to video for Disney, and we always know for the most part, these movies are not going to compare to the first film, but I thought that Cinderella is a cute movie for the little girls. I know I would have loved this movie so much if I were a kid, but I wanna be generous on the rating, because for a cartoon, you have to admit that it was cute. It's not an ultimate charmer like the first Cinderella movie, that's for sure, but it's worth a look, I think.

Great for your kids - family friendly, nothing scary - what I like in a kids' film
dannimom25 June 2006
Many people have commented that this movie was nowhere near as good as the first. Well, maybe it isn't - to you. However, how does your child react to it? Well, mine loved it more than the first.

Disney movies of the past can sometimes be a little harsh for little kids. (For example - Bambi's mother getting shot.) This movie was really great for my sensitive little girl who likes humor and happy endings.

If you want to be snobby about what should be Disney's standards based on the past - skip this movie.

If you have a sweet little girl or soft-hearted little boy you really want to please, buy this movie and treat your small children. This film is great as a bedtime movie for happy dreams instead of nightmares. I'm happy with a movie that pleases my kid & doesn't need to impress the parents all the time.

Charming....

Cinderella II Dreams Come True was a lot more of an enjoyable viewing experience than I initially thought it would be.

I'll admit the choice to tell 3 separate stories rather than just 1 was odd. I feel like these 3 stories would have fit better as side stories with a bigger better overarching story. I suppose that's the best description I have for this film is it felt like padding.

Having said that I didn't dislike the 3 stories told and found them to be overall quite charming. The 3rd story centering around Anastacia was by far the strongest and was genuinely quite touching. That's why I gave this film the rating I did because that really surprised me in a good way.

Pointless

Absolutely pointless.

I'm always up for follow-ups as I enjoy seeing characters get further development. That, however, doesn't happen here. This is annoyingly broken up into three short stories, which are just barely cobbled together by the Fairy Godmother (Russi Taylor) and the mice. It's as if they decided to make a sequel before coming up with a premise for it.

Of the storylines they show-off, only one is directly about Cinderella herself - and it's an entirely unnecessary and predictable one. The others, regarding two characters from the preceding production, are simply dull. As are the voice cast, with Jennifer Hale in the leading role.

The animation is fine if a little cheap on the eye, while the music is forgettable. Not much humour, either. 'Cinderella II: Dreams Come True' is sequelitis in a nutshell.
