I enjoyed it, but this wonderful series deserved a more down to Earth finale.
Sleepin_Dragon22 February 2021
Where to begin????

I will try to be as balanced as I can. I have loved this series the whole way through, a slick, stylish, smart thriller, which had been, shall we say grounded the whole way through.

I had a feeling they were going to go off on a tangent, I didn't think they were going to go quite so far as they did. Fortunately, I love mysteries, and I love sci fi, so this ticks a lot of boxes for me. I liked it, but I could see the look of disappointment on the faces of my family.

On the positive side, the acting once again was flawless, the realisation of what has happened, is jaw dropping..... if you like that kind of thing.

I understand those that didn't like it, and thought that Dr Who should have been on hand, but personally I liked the boldness and imagination of it. This will be divisive I know. 7/10.

Didn't see that coming!
henry-price-12-8112429 April 2021
I found much of the series rather tedious and only stuck with it to see how it would end. It was going to get a 5 or 6 until this final episode which totally surprised me and lifted the series to a solid 7.

Mind twisting FINALE!
snoop_cat_0004 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
A mind blowing episode. Loved every bit of the serie.. the story, the acting, the plot.. everything!

Rob didn't even outsmarted Adel, David and Louise.. but the whole audience! A total maniac, and the funny thing is that it never was about Adel's body, the money or even her life style, it was always about David and having him forever.. Once he got a gribb on him, he never let go. And it all started with the beautiful soul (Adel) trusting his wicked a**.. but he played her good to be honest, someone who suffered all his life, mentaly ill and unstable didn't care about friendship or Adel.. he knew this friendship won't last forever..

Entertaining enough but too many holes in the characters, .
ginaraymond13 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This started off quite well with some cracking twists and turns through the first couple of episodes; I really thought it was heading down the route of a classic psychological thriller.

Eventually we're introduced to a more fantasy/sci-fi/spirituality based concept.

I wasn't too bothered about that, I don't mind those kinds of genres, but that's not what I thought I was watching. But, hey, s'all cool, so I keep going.

So far it's interesting enough to keep me on the hook.

But in the last episode it fell to pieces for me......

I don't mind that it wasn't a "happy ending" - it kinda reminded me of one of the brilliant Jordan Peele's movies (though nowhere near as clever).

I was, like other reviewers somewhat disappointed that Louise had to behave so ridiculously for the plot to work. But what really annoyed me was that a so called psychiatrist didn't notice what would have been a significant personality change in Louise. He noticed it in Adele, and I can understand he thought it down to the events surrounding Rob so fluffed over them because he wanted to protect Adele. But Louise must have had a massive change in personality too ... we see it when she picks up Adam. So it's happened to him twice now, and the second time with not much reasoning? And he still married her??!? Would you want to be treated by someone for a mental health condition who can't spot a shift from kind, fun loving and caring to sociopath? Sorry, that just goes to stack up for me.

Shame coz it started off well and the acting was pretty decent too from all four main characters as well as support cast.

If you can gloss over the cracks though, it kills a few hours.

Angelic upstarts
GameAndWatch28 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I guessed the swapsy when the astral navigation was shown. But I can't quite get to grips with why Louise suddenly discovered the ability. Seemed way too convenient, even if there was a little journal guidance. So it kind of jumped the shark with the shark jumping and biting twice too many. Which is a bit of a shame as it was quite good up till then.

A friend said their partner spotted them cheating via an OOBE, so perhaps there's something to it.

But as a small drama I enjoyed the series, it just felt slightly too long by the end.

It hits some of the right notes. My dad died and came back to life. Was haunted ever after and claimed he came back a different person. He was certainly different. You would think you might notice if your partner was swapped for some shape shifter. But hey, some people just don't pay attention.

Idiot plot
petewood-5995119 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
For Rob's scheme to work, two things have to happen. One, David has to act like an absolute asshole to Louise so she can sympathize with the fake Adele. Check. Two, Louise, even after she realizes that Adele is a sociopath, has to confide crucial information to her and behave generally like a moron. She ignores the warnings of countless people to get away from Adele. Then when Adele contacts her and threatens suicide, Louise astral projects over so Rob can pull the old body swap again. I mean, why wouldn't Louise bother to do what most of us would do and call the cops? Cringe worthy.

[7.6] The new family
cjonesas17 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 6: An average-good finale, very good in acting, sort of concentric developments and clarifying plots. The episode was bad in its rush to finish in 6 "chapters", notwithstanding the too convenient astral projections and detachments.

The weakest link was that "Adele" never knew and wasn't sure that Louise would astral project to save her, even though both knew that in doing so, even if it succeeded, Louise would have been lost forever or both gone, cause one astral could not enter a body with the original astral already settled in.

Those who can astral project will like it (very much); beginners and dummies will preferably hate it, imprisoned forever in their own body and mind.

Enjoyed this episode but not the rest
minnizybert7 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This finale and plot twist was one of the best I've ever watched! However, I really feel like the series as a whole could have had less episodes. It is a real shame the rest of the episodes are a bit boring and slow paced for my taste, comparing to this one. The only reason I kept watching until the end was because of my curiosity regarding David & Adele's marriage, nothing else really.

If you are going to have a twist ending don't make me figure it out.
bzivali20 February 2021
Characters were good. Kept me interested through out, but was disappointed with the ending, gave it away to soon. Also, the whole serious could have been only 3 episodes.

Started off Great
daveym-649-4449625 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Really liked the first few episodes of this, it had the makings of an excellent Psychological thriller Then it all started going haywire and I'm thinking "Is this some kind of "Fantasy" series ?" The nonsense of the last two episodes was astounding. Can't believe it is not described as "Fantasy" by IMDB. If it had been, I wouldn't have watched it

Surprising but disappointing
anapcsilva22 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This last episode didn't make sense to me at all, from the moment David decided to suddenly get on a plane.

Why would Louise astral project after not being able to get in the house? I mean, what could she possibly do in that form? Why not just call the cops?

Why wouldn't Louise use Adam as an argument to stop 'Adele' from squeezing the life out of her?

As for what happened all those years ago, how can you share 10 years of your life with someone and not realise they are not that person? Certainly there were memories 'Adele' couldn't remember of hey previous life with David.

Shocking? Yes. Satisfying? Not in the least.

Decent Series, but what a poor ending
scarlett-4472226 February 2021
No spoilers. But things start to unravel in episode 5. But the twist utterly spoils this show. Was totally uninterested for the last 10 mins.

I was quite enjoying this series for the first few episodes, then it starts to get silly. But the finale is completely stupid and ruins the whole series.

Por Trás de Seus Olhos
foxbrvar14 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Por Trás de Seus Olhos (2021) Finished Series #20 Season 1 Episode Six - Por Trás de Seus Olhos

Is it wrong for me to have hoped that the lover would die and take the whole cast along?

The madman from the asylum looks like the Brazilian actor from O Auto da Compadecida.

The plot twist isn't bad but it would be a thousand times better if it were done in a series with more charismatic actors, at each different moment the actors had a different attitude and it was only the wife who was "possessed" by the crazy guy, the protagonist for more that he was in total stress doesn't justify him having 1001 different attitudes in each scene.

At least this series helped me, to take first place and be the worst series I watched on this profile.

Next Series: Irmãos de Guerra (2001)

Twentieth Series Completed.

Por Trás de Seus Olhos Miniseries Marathon started and ended on May 14, 2024.

Episode Rating: 1/10.

Series average: 1.33/10.

Previous Alias Grace.

A really disappointing finale
tomiloki23 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This was a really disappointing finale to an otherwise well written series. It was predictable from start to finish, as soon as they introduced the astral projection stuff the series took a nosedive. The twist was so obvious after the first few minutes of episode 5. It's shocking that so many people were astonished by this finale.
