A Good Family Entertainer With Real Story!
nairtejas16 January 2013
Revathi refurnishes her acting career with this role as an obstinate woman who will not be led by the usual stereotypes of her native village in Kerala, India. The story is pretty straightforward and different from the usual movies of Malayalam. Even though it has loopholes, it was well received by my family with whom I watched it a native cinemaplex.

Cast is good and Prithviraj's performances is okay with respect to the roles he's getting lately (Her, Simhasanam, The Way Home). Soundtrack is chilly and direction is average. Other aspects of cinema-making are just above average and I totally was interested throughout the movie and the screenplay clanged me.

Bottom line: This is not Revathy's come-back with some over-smartness but this is good, entertaining watch!

WATCH OUT FOR: the Kerala government office politics!

Can be watched with a typical Indian family? YES

Gripping tale

Warning: Spoilers
It shows just a kind of heroism. The screenplay is also lagging without any proper story (only income tax isssue). The screenplay is very gripping and shows the main character is good by showing social issues like charities.

Verdict - Molly aunty fails to impress!!!

A must watch!

A very refreshing story. I saw this movie 7 years after its release and the subject is still very much relevant. More such movies need to be made! Loved the casting! It was very refreshing to see a woman character facing a real life problem and not just a gender based problem. Revathi ma'am exudes the confidence and courage I see in the women around me and more films should have characters like Molly aunty! Prithviraj's character, supposed to be the antagonist, has also been crafted so beautifully. He wasn't portrayed as an evil man seeking revenge, but very realistically portrayed. And of course I have to appreciate the witty and humorous character, Molly's lawyer Salim, played by Mamukkoya. Must watch!
