In February 2017, Journey went to Japan for a special show at Tokyo’s Budokan that featured a complete performance of 1981’s Escape and 1983’s Frontiers at the request of legendary Japanese concert promoter Mr. Udo in honor of his 50th anniversary in the business. “There’s a few songs I don’t even recall playing, like [the Frontiers track] ‘Troubled Child,” Journey guitarist Neal Schon told Rolling Stone at the time. “Digging back into that stuff has been a lot of fun.”

After last year’s three-Oscar haul for “Moonlight,” including Best Picture, A24 wants to prove that was no anomaly. Here’s what the rising young distributor will push this awards season. (Remember: A year ago, “Moonlight” wasn’t viewed as a likely Best Picture contender — much less the big winner.)
Co-founded by David Fenkel, John Hodges, and Daniel Katz, A24 is known for edgy arthouse pleasers that eschew conventional storytelling. “Moonlight” was the company’s first original production; its other box office players include Oscar-winners “Ex Machina,” “Room,” and “Amy,” and smart horror flick “The Witch.” But none have passed the $27 million box office earned by “Moonlight.”

The first trailer for Stephen King's The Dark Tower has arrived, and we found tons of references, clues, and easter eggs...
For a long time, it was thought to be impossible - a film adaptation of Stephen King's fantasy horror epic about a Gunslinger traveling through different worlds to stop an evil Man in Black from destroying the fixed point that holds all of reality together: the Dark Tower. Yet, we'll finally see this story on screen, as the man in black flees across the desert, and the gunslinger follows.
After suffering several setbacks through the years - getting this movie made has been a journey almost as epic as Roland's - The Dark Tower is almost here. Nikolaj Arcel (A Royal Affair) directed and co-wrote the film adaptation. Fellow Danish filmmaker Anders Thomas Jensen helped rewrite the script, which was originally penned by Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinkner.

Clearly unaware that there’s no surer way to jinx yourself than to announce that you are invincible, the devil declared in Salem’s Season 3 premiere Wednesday that, with Mary pushing up daisies, no one could stop the “great terror” that he planned to unleash. So, of course, the next thing we knew, Tituba and the Essex witches were doing their damnedest to resurrect the late Mrs. Sibley. Did they succeed? You can probably guess. But read on, anyway, and we’ll go over the developments that stirred the cauldron, then you can grade the hour in the poll below.

Something wicked this way comes, and I'm not just talking about the dark lord. These characters are more devilishly evil. (And I like it!)
For the season three premiere, Salem Season 3 Episode 1 saw the characters do a role reversal since the last time we saw them. Cotton and John are no longer the leaders they once were, while Mercy and Anne are embracing having power. Even the dark lord is a shadow of his child-like self.
I was hesitant last season when little John became the big bad. I didn't know if he'd get his hands dirty and pose a threat. But after seeing him kill Countess Marburg last season and now pushing his authority over witches like Sebastian and Anne, I think I'm on board.
Remember dear ones, to the Reaper, all flesh is grass...even witch flesh. A great terror will soon fall upon Salem and there is...

The world grieved for Paris last November after a series of coordinated terrorist attacks claimed by the Islamic group Isis left 130 people dead. But when the smoke cleared, attention soon shifted to neighboring Brussels, specifically the heavily Muslim-immigrant suburb of Molenbeek - where security officials say the attackers met to build bombs and hatch their plan. "These acts of war have been decided and planned in Syria, they have been organized in Belgium and perpetrated on our soil with French accomplices," French president Francoise Hollande said in the wake of the attacks. On Friday, counter-terrorism authorities arrested the final suspect...

Last November, all eyes were on the city of Paris after facing an attack from Isis-associated jihadists, killing 130 people. But after Paris, the focus went to the neighboring country of Belgium, where authorities said they believed the plans for the attacks were conceived. Fast-forward four months, and Belgian terrorists have struck on their own territory, killing 34 and wounding at least 187. It's attack that may...

Rogue One scribe Chris Weitz is closing in on a deal to direct MGM’s as-yet-titled period thriller, one to be based on the story of infamous war criminal, Adolf Eichmann.
Deadline has the scoop, revealing that Weitz – who is also attached to gay rights drama 21 Years To Midnight for Fox 2000 – has opened negotiations to helm the feature film, centering on Eichmann’s heinous Holocaust architect. During the high time of Hitler’s reign, Eichmann was one of the key designers who marshalled helpless Jews from all over Europe to concentration camps set up across Poland and other Easter European outposts.
After the fall of Nazi Germany and the Third Reich, Eichmann scurried back to his home country of Austria. Then, some years after the fallout of World War II, the former Holocaust operator was spotted in Buenos Aires in 1953, before he was eventually seized by Israeli intelligence seven years later.

What will March bring to Netflix? Plenty of great TV shows, some killer recent and classic movies, and a slew of highly anticipated Netflix Originals.
First off, there's more amazing TV coming to Netflix in March than we've seen in the past six, with new seasons of "Mad Men," "Glee," and "Archer" coming to the streaming service. What's more? The complete series of "3rd Rock From the Sun" (Yes!) and "A Different World" are also being added. For the latter, I plan on queueing up some "very special episodes" that remind me of my childhood. Also, Marisa Tomei was on it. Remember?! In addition to the shows you know, some spankin' new Netflix Originals are being added: Tina Fey's half-hour comedy "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," starring "The Office's" Ellie Kemper, and "Bloodline," a dramatic thriller starring Oscar-winner Sissy Spacek.
In terms of movies, Netflix is not disappointing. Recent releases...

Haley Bennett ("The Equalizer," "After the Fall") is set to play the female lead in the remake of the Western classic "The Magnificent Seven" at MGM.
Bennett reportedly beat out several other actresses for the "star making role" as the widow of a murdered man who lives in a gold mine town taken over by a baron and his thugs.
She hires a bounty hunter (Denzel Washington) to get rid of these evil men, giving him enough money to hire six other gunmen to help their cause. Chris Pine also stars.
Antoine Fuqua is directing from a script by "True Detective" creator Nic Pizzolatto and "Saving Mr. Banks" director John Lee Hancock.

Recently, TV Line talked with Supernatural executive producer, Robbie Thompson, and he spilled some very interesting spoiler scoopage for the back half of the current season 10. It turns out that we're going to see some very dangerous things go down with Charlie's return from Oz as something has apparently followed her. Dean will have more problems than ever before with that pesky Mark Of Cain, and more. In their spoiler report, here's what they had to say: "After the fall finale's blood bath, the Mark of Cain promises to be an even bigger issue than ever for Dean. Maybe Cain, himself, can help with that when Timothy Omundson (Psych) reprises his role? Also, Felicia Day's Charlie returns from Oz "under precarious circumstances," co-executive producer Robbie Thompson previews. "She's brought something back that's very dangerous. She teams up with the boys to track that dangerous thing down and hunt with them,...

While composer Marc Streitenfeld has been working for nearly two decades with directors like Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Terrence Malick and John Woo, it was 2012's "Prometheus" that really brought him to wider attention. His terrific work on the "Alien" prequel was one of the most memorable scores of that year, but he shows a different side in "After The Fall." Starring Wes Bentley, Vinessa Shaw, Haley Bennett, Jason Isaacs and directed by Saar Klein (the Oscar nominated editor behind Terrence Malick's "The Thin Red Line" and Cameron Crowe's "Almost Famous"), the film tells the story of a man who turns to crime after losing his job, falling in with a detective who no longer believes in the value of upholding the law. The film brings out Streitenfeld's more contemplative qualities, as well as an undercurrent of darkness and menace. "After The Fall" is now available on VOD,...

This is a reprint of our review from the 2014 Berlin Film Festival where the film screened under the title "Things People Do." Aiming to be the kind of restrained, grown-up ethical drama that we don't see a great deal of anymore, "Things People Do" from editor-turned-director Saar Klein, premiered unassumingly at the Berlin Film Festival, as though aware it was predestined to be almost immediately eclipsed by showier, punchier titles. Which is probably a little unfair, as the film does boast a lot of strong elements: unusually expressive cinematography, a well-rendered sense of place, Jason Isaacs. And in general it nearly succeeds in delivering on its gently moralist ambitions. However, its failings are all the more glaring for being in the realm of characterization, which is kind of crucial if a film of this kind is to transcend the potential limitations of the indie drama ghetto. Unfortunately "Things People Do...

Falling Down: Klein’s Debut Exploits Economic Realities for Mixed Crime Drama
Exploring the ravaged remnants of the façade once referred to as the American Dream, editor turned director Saar Klein explores the slippery slope of middle class tendencies when faced with economic downturns in After the Fall. Initially titled “Things People Do” when it premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, the new moniker tends to favor the film’s less poetic, more pointedly exploitational elements with a film that mistakes timeliness for sincerity. Filled with convenient turns and easily attainable avenues of retribution, the film ultimately seems like an archaic example of the dangerous follies of patriarchy. Impossible standards placed on the role of a breadwinner in a modern world too costly to maintain when chained to the fantasy of the nuclear familial unit seems a promising angle, yet Klein never seems to get off the fence and into the dirt.

One glance at the poster for After the Fall and you should expect a low-rent, straight-to-dvd revenge thriller starring Wes Bentley. The American Beauty actor stands menacingly in front of a giant backdrop of the American flag, a scar blistering from his left cheek. He is also wearing a suit and holding a gun. However, the debut film from Israeli writer/director Saar Klein is actually a low-key family drama about a father trying his best to hide his lies and life of petty crime from his wife and kids. The film deals with a protagonist as fraudulent as that one-sheet.
Bentley stars as Bill Scanlon, an insurance man who was recently fired from his job. Instead of telling his wife, Susan (Vinessa Shaw), he keeps up a charade, explaining he is up for a promotion. In one of the film’s early scenes, he tells his eldest son, Henry...

The absurdly wrong poster for After the Fall — which shows Wes Bentley toting a gun in front of the American flag, a scar visible on his left cheek — promises a tacky VOD actioner in the Nicolas Cage mode. In truth, however, the movie is a sincere, dialed-in character study — light on shoot-'em-ups, heavy on moral and emotional reflection. Some context explains this discrepancy: First-time co-writer/director Saar Klein is a veteran editor whose résumé includes two Terrence Malick films (The Thin Red Line and The New World). Malick receives a "special thanks" credit here, and rightfully so — his fingerprints (or at least the influence of them) are all over this movie. When insurance agent Bill Scanlon (Ben...

Ever since appearing as Gameskeeper Seneca Crane in The Hunger Games, Wes Bentley has been on a roll, taking on parts in small-scale projects like romance Hidden Moon, SXSW entry Things People Do and biopic Cesar Chavez, but expect the actor to step up his screen time in the coming months. Already this year, Bentley has shot roles in such buzzy films as Interstellar, Knight of Cups and Final Girl. Additionally, the actor has a supporting role on FX’s American Horror Story: Freak Show. Now, it’s been announced that Bentley’s next project will be We Are Your Friends, an Edm-centric drama which centers on an up-and-coming DJ.
In the film, which will mark Catfish investigator Max Joseph’s directorial debut, Zac Efron plays a troubled, aspiring DJ named Cole, who eventually finds his place in the world of electronic dance music (Edm). Bentley will portray James, described by Deadline as “a wealthy,...

Wes Bentley rarely takes on leading roles, probably partially because his youthful, nondescript features lead audiences to identify with him most as a background player. Things People Do, a quiet drama directed by The Thin Red Line editor Saar Klein, finds Bentley taking on the main role of insurance adjuster Bill Scanlon, who turns to a life of crime when always playing the nice guy leaves him jobless and heavily in debt. Unfortunately, the film’s plodding, ham-fisted narrative allows neither Bentley nor Things People Do as a whole any opportunity to leave even the slightest impression.
Klein and co-writer Joe Conway clearly wanted their film to be received as a morality play, with seemingly every line of dialogue holding deeper meaning. In moderation, symbolic dialogue can be one of a screenwriter’s most potent weapons, but here it’s more exhausting than enlightening. One of the reasons Things People Do...
