Interesting enough

Warning: Spoilers
I happen to love the past - everything from the clothing, to the way people spoke, to what was considered popular culture at the time. I love history, philosophy, and physics, so clearly a show that incorporates time-travel is something I would like. Surely enough, I do like the show, even if I think at times it isn't the most well-written. My favourite character is Garcia Flynn, I must say. He is very intriguing and the only character that doesn't annoy me to high heaven - what with Lucy being so stern and moral all the time when she clearly has made rather large mistakes herself, or with Rufus being a double agent, or with Wyatt being so depressed, distrusting, and hypocritical all the time. I cannot quite figure out Flynn - whether he is a villain or not, what his motives are, if what he says is true half the time - but at least he seems the least problematic of all the characters. This was a good enough episode. There were certain things I didn't like about it - like how it had nearly nothing to do with Watergate whatsoever - but these things don't take away from the quality of the episode too much. I also don't really like the whole Rittenhouse angle, but I suppose they needed it to create a story arch that could span multiple episodes. Ultimately, I liked the episode more than I disliked it.

Poor widdle Flynn.
gkeith_117 November 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Poor widdle Flynn. Now, we know his motivation. Rittenhouse has offed his family. Did they off Wyatt's wife? Did they remove Lucy's sister, and make her mother well again? Are these alternate realities? We know that they are threatening poor Rufus regarding his beautiful home and family.

I read that they are bankrolling Mason Industries, so ol' Connor is also at their beck and call. So, also, it looks like, is the goon who happens to be Lucy's father.

Observations:

Rufus has a dog's name. He deserves better than that. Slave days were over with a long time ago. His character is a third wheel, only getting secondary or tertiary background conversations. Lucy and Wyatt are the main honchos.

Rufus is the genius engineer of the group. He pilots the timeship. Did he also invent it? He is way too important, but he gets crappy lines and parts in the episodes.

Kanye was great for him to dream up, but ol' bro in 1972 thought that Rufus made up that name. Also, Miller Lite was a big faux pas because apparently it had not been invented yet.

More observations:

1972 clothes crappy. Creepy scary. Old car(s) interesting. Doc a person, not a document.

I didn't see the crew suit up before the trip. They just got into the timeship, dressed in their 1972 duds.

Wyatt, I am tying you up here, in the very same room where Lincoln was assassinated. You do remember that, Wyatt? Right, Wyatt???

-----------

Rufus takes the crew everywhere, and always brings them back -- except for next week, where from the preview the timeship gets shot at before they can leave.

Flynn, you are such a slave.

10/10

Excellent.

A slip, will it be fatal?

Warning: Spoilers
Too self involved with its own unraveling here, lacking the fun while abandoning the premise, to advance the plot. I don't want to know more about Rittenhouse, I want to know less. I don't want the same thing repeating itself every episode either, the journey still needs to be enjoyed though.
