I knew I had to get one Spielberg in here and I was going to go with "Jaws", again, the teenage experience of seeing that and hearing the screams 'feeling' the suspense, palatable in a theater was great, but SciFi wins out... as much as I love those destruction lasers and conquering aliens at the other extreme... he is a master at creating a story of genuine awe and mystery of a wonderful "first contact".

Yes I admit it... to fill out the final ones in my list here I had to reference AFI's Top 100 list, and at first I wasn't going to include this one... mostly just because of the "Citizen Kane" reasoning I previously mention, but as I looked at this film and compared it to all the others in that list, and this movie really does have everything going for it... tons of iconic scenes.. top performances, and just what it is to be part of movie history.
