Votes: 1,582,685 | Gross: $116.90M

10/10 - TWOWS has to be one of the best films I have ever seen! I love movies where the director takes me on a journey that is so extravagant and detailed that I can't help but feel like I am a part of the everyday lives of the characters. So much incredible scenarios were packed into this one movie that it becomes almost unbelievable that this is a completely true story, and that only makes the film that much more awesome. Leonardo DiCaprio gave us one of the best acting feats of his career which deserved an Oscar win!

TWOWS is funnier that the greats comedies and more dramatic than Charlie Sheen on drugs, and as a result, we are treated to the best Martin Scorsese movie since Goodfellas. To all those who complain that this movie was too long, the question I ask is "Why was it so short?"

2. Her (2013)

Votes: 669,428 | Gross: $25.57M

10/10 - I have never been the type of guy to enjoy a romantic film, yet Spike Jonze has managed to create a romance that even I can help but fall in love with. If only real life was so heartfelt, truthful and hopeful. With the best voice acting performance I have ever heard in any movie of all time, Scarlett Johansson was surely deserving of an leading actress nomination. Joaquin Phoenix similarly presented us with the performance of his lifetime. With such two powerhouse performances, I was played the third wheel to their romance, and I was loving it. The writing was the best I had ever seen and as a result, the dialogue was incredibly smart and heartfelt.

Put simply, everything in the film was perfect. From the futuristic vision for the Earth, beautiful cinematography, incredible acting, perfect direction, flawless writing and an ending that will make any grown man cry like a baby. I can't praise this film highly enough!

3. Gravity (2013)

Director: Alfonso Cuarón | Stars: Sandra Bullock, George Clooney, Ed Harris, Orto Ignatiussen

Votes: 863,102 | Gross: $274.09M

9.5/10 - I walked into the cinema feeling fine, I walked out trying to catch my breath. I haven't seen a film so intense and gripping, EVER! Gravity is one of those rare films that take you so deep into what is happening that everything seems incredibly distant. Sandra Bullock gave us an amazing performance and the visuals where the best I've seen since 2001: A Space Odyssey.

In my humble opinion, this is the greatest space film of all time, and it is going to take one incredible movie to change my mind and I don't think that is going to happen any time soon.

4. Man of Steel (2013)

PG-13 | 143 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi

55 Metascore

An alien child is evacuated from his dying world and sent to Earth to live among humans. His peace is threatened when other survivors of his home planet invade Earth.

Director: Zack Snyder | Stars: Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Diane Lane

Votes: 811,747 | Gross: $291.05M

10/10 - It would be foolish to argue against the fact that director Zach Snyder has proved that he is most at home in fantasy. Hence, it fascinates me that Snyder was able to take such a deep step into mythology yet retain a greater level of realism than previous Superman film or even most previous comic book movies. Snyder gave us a backstory that I wanted to see more of, action sequences that left me completely satisfied and enough relatable emotion to make Clark Kent the most understandable superhero brought to screen since Spiderman.

For a film to balance so many aspects perfectly is simply fascinating to me. I loved every scene and I honestly believe that it is the greatest comic book film since The Dark Knight
