Danny and Michael Philippou, the breakout directors of last year’s box office horror hit “Talk to Me,” are re-teaming with A24 on their next horror film, an individual with knowledge of the project told IndieWire. And this time they’re being paired with a two-time Oscar nominee.
Sally Hawkins will star in “Bring Her Back” from the Philippous, who are writing and directing the original movie for A24. Danny and Michael Philippou are also re-teaming with the producers on “Talk to Me,” Causeway Films’ Samantha Jennings and Kristina Ceyton (“The Babadook”).
Plot details are being kept under wraps for “Bring Her Back,” but the film will begin production later this summer.
This would not be the first time Hawkins has starred in a horror film. Way back in 2007 she appeared in “The Killing Gene” alongside Stellan Skarsgård, Tom Hardy, and Selma Blair. The closest she’s gotten to the...

Out of all the cars on the road today, there is perhaps no vehicle more associated with Los Angeles than the Mercedes-Benz G-Class — that tall and boxy bank-vault of an SUV which hasn’t really changed shape or size since it was first released by Mercedes-Benz in 1979 as the Geländewagen. The first G’s were made for the trades, rescue services and the military, and Mercedes-Benz likes to tout the fact that more than 80 percent of the G’s ever made are still around on and off-roading.
This all-purpose, go-anywhere vehicle has, throughout the years, had a glow-up or two — and what 45-year-old in the limelight hasn’t. But, at Los Angeles’ Franklin Canyon Park above Beverly Hills on Tuesday, April 23, Mercedes-Benz showed off their latest iteration, one which has had G-Wagen fanatics waiting on tenterhooks: the G 580 with Eq Technology, the first all-electric G-Class model.

Bring your pink suit to the dry cleaners because Legally Blonde is making a comeback, and you’ll want to dress to impress! According to Deadline, Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine company will partner with Amazon MGM Studios for a Legally Blonde spinoff TV series. The long-anticipated project comes from Gossip Girl writers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who will also produce through their Fake Empire studio. Plot details remain a mystery, though Witherspoon’s involvement with the project gives me good vibes.
Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter will produce the Legally Blonde spinoff TV series via Hello Sunshine alongside Legally Blonde film producer Marc Platt. Deadline says there’s a chance we could get more than one spinoff series inspired by Legally Blonde, but details are fuzzier than the eraser toppers Elle Woods keeps in her purse.
Released in 2001, Legally Blonde stars Reese Witherspoon as Elle Woods, a fashionable sorority queen whom her boyfriend dumps.

(Our sister site Deadline first reported the news.) No plot details have been released yet, but Gossip Girl veterans Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage will write the series and also serve as EPs along with Witherspoon. Dylan Mulvaney is dreaming big, and one of the characters she would like to play is Elle Woods from Legally Blonde.
In a recent interview, the singer and actress said that her dream theater role was to play Glinda in Wicked, but her “dream dream” was to portray the Harvard Law School student that Reese Witherspoon famously played in the 2001 film.
“My dream though is to do a trans Legally Blonde,” Mulvaney said in an interview with IMDb during SXSW. “I wanna play Elle Woods and have maybe a trans Emmett and a trans Paulette. And I think what’s so cool about plugging trans people into existing stories is it inherently changes what the topic is, but in a way that you don’t actually have to do much to the script because it becomes something different — but actually, I think it makes it even more powerful.”

Christina Applegate revealed she was likely living with multiple sclerosis for years before she was diagnosed in a new interview with Good Morning America. The segment marked the actress’ first time talking about the autoimmune disease on TV since she was diagnosed in 2021.

Christina Applegate is opening up about living with multiple sclerosis on “Good Morning America” in her first on-camera sit-down interview following her 2021 diagnosis.
“I live kind of in hell,” Applegate told host Robin Roberts. “I’m not out a lot, so this is a little difficult, just for my system. But of course, the support is wonderful and I’m really grateful.”
Applegate participated in the interview — which aired in full on Wednesday — alongside “The Sopranos” star Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who has been living with Ms since she was 20 years old. The two were promoting their new podcast, “MeSsy,” which debuts March 19.
“I’m never going to wake up and go, ‘This is awesome.’ I’m just going to tell you that. Like, it’s not going to happen,” she continued. “I wake up and I’m reminded of it every day … But I might get to a place where I function a little bit better.

If the golden era of the high school movie was the 1980s, packed with John Hughes’ tales of wistful outsider girls and horny nerds, then mid-late ‘90s was the reprise. This was the era of Valley Girls (Clueless), the make-over movie, and of course modern updates of classic literature. Cruel Intentions fits into this category and takes it to the next level. It’s a teen high school movie full of shagging and spitefulness which has genuine consequences and treats its characters like adults, while allowing them the naivety of youth. It’s 25 years old, and it’s still sexy as fuck.
Based on the novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ which was filmed memorably as 1988’s Dangerous Liaisons, starring Glenn Close, John Malkovich and Michelle Pfeiffer, Cruel Intentions had wonderfully salacious material to work with but big shoes to fill.

Selma Blair is changing up her team.
The actress has parted ways with her agents at CAA as well as her publicity team at Narrative, sources confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. It also appears that she’s made changes to her management and legal reps as well. For years, Blair has been represented by manager Troy Nankin at Wishlab as well as attorney Cheryl Snow at Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown & Passman.
It appears someone swapped out those names on Blair’s rep card on IMDbPro on Thursday with the names Ben Gaynor (also a manager at Wishlab) as her new manager and attorney Joshua Reitzas at Berlandi Nussbaum & Reitzas, though none of the names on that list were available for comment in the evening when THR reached out. Blair also did not return a request for comment, but it is understood that she made the decision to clean house.

It's hard to imagine anyone besides Alyson Hannigan as the unforgettable sidekick-turned-superpowered Willow Rosenberg in the hit series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," but the casting directors almost went in a completely different direction. Indeed, the role nearly went to another accomplished television actor — Melanie Lynskey, the Emmy-nominated star of the acclaimed Showtime series "Yellowjackets."
The New Zealand actor kicked off her career with a leading role in Peter Jackson's 1994 film "Heavenly Creatures" opposite "Titanic" star Kate Winslet. She had also appeared in Jackson's 1996 horror-comedy "The Frighteners" -- which, like "Heavenly Creatures," was filmed in New Zealand — when she got the opportunity to audition for "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

Gene Simmons, Sharon Osbourne, and Boy George are among the celebrities who have signed an open letter rejecting a movement to prevent Israel from competing in the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest.

Selma Blair is trying to dramatically walk back her self-admitted rage filled rant against Islam and members of the US Congress from a week ago.
“This is a time of great pain and anguish for many around the world, but it is also a time to learn and better understand how words matter,” the Cruel Intentions actress wrote today in a long statement on social media as the backlash against her continued to grow. “I respect and love all peace-loving communities, all over the world,” Blair added. “It was my Muslim friends who helped educate and show me the way. I am committed to paying forward their love and understanding. We cannot allow ignorance and rage to becomes our downfall.”
“I am dedicated to tolerance and peace for all who want it – not hate,” Blair went on to say at the end of the clearly crafted statement posted on her Instgram Tuesday afternoon.

Selma Blair has issued an apology after being criticized for posting an anti-Islam comment on a video regarding the Israel-Hamas war last week.
The actress wrote in a statement shared on Instagram on Tuesday, “This is a time of great pain and anguish for many around the world, but it is also a time to learn and better understand how words matter. I commented on a post by Abraham Hamra regarding two congress members who are against banning October 7th Hamas terrorists from entering the USA. In my comment, I mistakenly and inadvertently conflated Muslims with Radical Islamists and fundamentalists, a terrible err in my words, and resulted in hurting countless people I never meant to, and I deeply regret this. As soon as my error was brought to my attention, I deleted the comment.
“Hate and misinformation are amplified so easily these days,” Blair continued. “This time by my own hands.

Adam Pearson is pointing out the way Hollywood lets down actors with disabilities.
The 39-year-old British actor stars in A Different Man alongside Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve.
The film tells the story of a man who undergoes major cosmetic surgery to change his disfigured facial appearance.
If you didn’t know, Adam has neurofibromatosis, a rare genetic condition that causes the skin to develop thousands of thick, non-cancerous tumors.
The actor recently spoke about stereotypes disabled performers often encounter in the film industry.

“Normally there are three kinds of roles or tropes or stereotypes, whatever vernacular one wants to use,” Adam told Variety. “There’s either the villain – that because I have a disfigurement, I want to kill Batman or James Bond. Then there’s the victim – the ‘woe is me,’ small violin.”

Kristen Welker wants to “Meet The Press” with something new.
So the new Sunday-show moderator is introducing a different sort of recurring segment to NBC’s venerable public affairs program. “Meet The Moment” will feature conversations with influentials from outside the usual Beltway haunts, who will still weigh in on issues of importance to voters and the long-running show’s overall audience. Among those who have appeared: Olympic gold medalist Allyson Felix, who discussed Black maternal health; actor Selma Blair, who has become an advocate for fair disability pay after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis; author and The Atlantic staff writer Tim Alberta, who has scrutinized changes in the Evangelical church; and Iranian activist Masih Alinejad, who has pushed for women’s rights in Iran.
Some of these segments will run again this Sunday. More “Moments” are expected in 2024.

The small screen adaptation of Cruel Intentions will stream on Prime Video, and details have landed for the show.
Cruel Intentions is a seminal teen film of the 1990s, planting the story of Dangerous Liasons firmly in late twentieth century youth culture, with star making turns from Selma Blair, Ryan Phillipe and Reese Witherspoon
It’s also the film that helped launch the big screen career of Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Now, Cruel Intentions is heading to the small screen in a fresh modern take (we assume). Many versions of a television adaptation have been attempted in the past, including a 2016 pilot which saw Gellar reprise her role, but ultimately none of them were commissioned.
At one stage, a television version did see the light of day, but it was released as Cruel Intentions 2, thanks to some hasty re-editing in post-production (and it didn’t share the lead cast of the film).
Anyway,...

Robert Rich met Winona Ryder shortly after the release of “Girl, Interrupted” in 1999 when she was shopping at the Marc Jacobs store in the Mercer Hotel in New York City. Rich, who was head of communications for the designer at the time, nervously approached the actor.
“I said, ‘I loved ‘Girl Interrupted,’ and she went, ‘That’s a girls movie,’” Rich recalls. “I said, ‘I’m a girls movie kind of guy.’”
They became fast friends. Now, more than two decades later, Rich is the author of “Winona,” a coffee table book featuring over 100 photos of Ryder, plus a forward by Jacobs. Rich took most of the picture. These aren’t glamour shots, but intimate Polaroids and images that were taken during private times together — many snapped inside the Marc Jacobs offices with other superstars like Kate Moss.

10 Things I Hate About Julia Stiles
I hate that her idgaf attitude was not present in more 90s teen rom coms.
I hate that I totally forgot about the movie Save The Last Dance.
I hate that she doesn’t get the respect she deserves.
I hate that I thought she was in that movie Swimfan.
I hate that she got stuck doing generic rom coms.
I hate that her character in the Jason Bourne franchise never got a spin-off.
I hate that I really haven’t seen much of her later work.
I hate that she tricked me into liking Shakespeare as a teen.
But most of all, I hate the way I don’t hate her – not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all. Oh, and I hate that I don’t know what the heck happened to her?
So let’s find out: Wtf Happened to.

Los Angeles, Nov 19 (Ians) Actress Selma Blair, who discovered in 2018 that she has multiple sclerosis and has been in remission since 2021, has said that she wants to design her own “kick ass” wheelchair.
After working on her latest venture, an accessible fashion line with her designer pal, Isaac Mizrahi, she’s already thinking of other ideas to not only help the lives of those living with disabilities but to make them look bougie.
She told Parade magazine: “Oh my gosh. I want chic. I want room to play. There are things beyond my pay grade but people with disabilities should have ostentatious fun.”
“I’d love to have a collaboration with a company to make a wheelchair. I want to make a kick-ass thing for everyone so we can all get on the same talking page. To have luxury goods coveted by all but especially the disabled community can be a real equaliser.

The episode of Revisited covering Hellboy II: The Golden Army was Written by Emilie Black, Edited by Ric Solomon, Narrated by Niki Minter, Produced by Tyler Nichols and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
Following the beloved Hellboy adaptation that was released in 2004 by Guillermo Del Toro, fans wanted more. As reviewed on a previous video, that one is excellent, so it was not surprising when the sequel was announced. Thus, in 2008, Hellboy II: The Golden Army (watch it Here) was released, and it ruled!
Let’s start with the rating here and it’s a complicated one for me. It’s actually hard to rate it because my reviewer brain, the part of me that is highly cinematically educated wants to give it an eight out of ten, which isn’t bad, but my heart wants to say it can’t be rated on a normal scale.

Actress Selma Blair shared that she’s ready for dating for the first time since she announced her multiple sclerosis diagnosis back in 2018. When appearing on the cover of Glamour for the 2023 Women of the Year issue, the 51-year-old first shared: “I think the disability word … it just confuses people.” She added, “Like, as if I don’t have a vagina.”
Although she acknowledged that re-entering the dating won’t be that easy, Blair said: “I still believe if I’m just true to myself, that person will come into my life one day.”
She then noted, “I think I deserve it, and think I’m in a great place to show up as the best version of me. It’s the first time I have hope… And I could have never said that in my life before.”
During the chat, she also recalled the “bad relationship” that she had prior to her diagnosis,...
