Paramount is heading to Sleepy Hollow with a brand new feature film take on the classic Headless Horseman tale, with Lindsey Anderson Beer (Pet Sematary: Bloodlines) announced to direct the movie back in 2022. But is that project still happening, now two years later?
The Hollywood Reporter lets us know this afternoon that Paramount Pictures has renewed its first-look deal with Lindsey Anderson Beer, and one of the projects on the upcoming slate is the aforementioned Sleepy Hollow movie that was originally announced two years ago.
THR details, “Additional projects on the development slate include… Sleepy Hollow with Anderson Beer attached to write, direct, and produce alongside Todd Garner of Broken Road.”
You can learn more about the slate over on The Hollywood Reporter. It also includes a supernatural thriller titled Here Comes the Dark from the writers of Don’t Worry Darling.

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is enacting a revenge plot against the eight House Republicans who ousted him.
In October 2023, McCarthy was booted from his position as House speaker when a group of Republicans joined all Democrats in voting to vacate the chair.
McCarthy is out for revenge against the group that he has dubbed the “Crazy Eight” or “Gaetz Eight” and its leader, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Florida), who introduced the motion to have the speaker vacated.
The former House speaker left Congress two months later. This ended up shrinking his party’s majority in the chamber.
McCarthy’s ally, Brian Walsh, is working to round up primary challengers to the “Gaetz Eight.”
The ousted speaker is prepared to mobilize his still-sizable donor network to arrange primary challenges. He is focusing on three representatives specifically. His allies believe that Reps. Nancy Mace (R-South Carolina), Bob Good (R-Virginia) and Eli Crane...

Kung Fu Panda has become one of the most iconic animated series of all time. Although targeted at children, the films have found a huge viewership among adults. This is not surprising considering just how good the films are. Perfectly balancing comedy and story, they have created a world like no other. Not only does it have deeply fascinating power structures and dynamics, but it is one of the most beautiful worlds in animation.
Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024)
The third film from the franchise was released in 2016. When it was announced that a fourth part would be coming out, eight years after the previous one, many expected it to be a flop. However, fans cannot seem to get enough of these characters and the world.

Last year, Frasier Crane returned to TV screens in the "Frasier" revival series. While it struggled to capture the magic of the original series, "Frasier" 2023 certainly had some high points. The festive season finale was one of the better Christmas episodes, and the show handled the passing of Martin Crane actor John Mahoney beautifully. Then there were the guest stars, which included actress Peri Gilpin, who played Frasier's producer on the original sitcom, and Bebe Neuwirth, who played Lilith Sternin on both "Frasier" and "Cheers."
Lilith debuted in the 1986 "Cheers" episode "Second Time Around," becoming a series regular and eventually starting a relationship with Kelsey Grammer's Frasier before the pair got married. By the end of the series they had broken up, and when "Frasier" debuted in 1993 the titular doctor had moved to Seattle while Lilith stayed in Boston with her and her ex-husband's son, Freddy. For all of the artistic challenges posed by filming an entire documentary inside a video game, you’d think that it would at least be a lighter logistical lift for filmmakers. There’s no need to acquire permits, haul heavy equipment to remote locations, or wrangle large film crews. But when Sam Crane and Pinny Grylls decided to stage a production of “Hamlet” inside of “Grand Theft Auto Online” during the final months of the Covid-19 pandemic and make a documentary about the experience, they quickly found that making art inside of the game was more complicated than it looks. The biggest challenge? Convincing online strangers playing the famously violent game not to shoot them while they rehearsed and filmed.
“It’s as challenging as it would have been when Shakespeare was putting on a new production at the Globe,” Grylls told IndieWire in a recent conversation. “He didn’t...

To be or not to be. That was the question facing so many artists at the height of the Covid pandemic (let’s call it January 2021), when the crisis seemed as if it might continue forever, and the absence of an audience threatened to chip away at the creative spirit itself. Suddenly unemployed and unable to support his family after landing the biggest role of his life (the titular wizard in the London production of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”), British actor Sam Crane couldn’t help but wonder — to quote a certain Danish prince — “whether ‘tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing end them.” Crane may not have shared Hamlet’s attraction to suicide, but he certainly entertained the idea of laying his career to rest before he was...

Season 4 of Netflix’s Outer Banks has some new cast members.
Pollyanna McIntosh, J. Anthony Crane, Brianna Brown, Rigo Sanchez and Mia Challis have joined the cast of the show, which has been a breakout show for Netflix over its past three seasons.
Created by Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke, Outer Banks is a coming-of-age story that follows a tight-knit group of local teens — the “Pogues” — in the beach vacation destination of the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Crane (Dead Ringers, Billions) will play Chandler Groff, a man darkly grief-stricken over the loss of his wife, who is welcoming to the Pogues on their latest adventure. The "Frasier" revival didn't get off to the most auspicious start. In fact, it got off to several less than ideal starts, with star Kelsey Grammer initially planning on bringing back the entire ensemble that made the original series so beloved. Unfortunately, no one actually wanted to come back, leaving Grammar and new showrunners Joe Cristali and Chris Harris to dream up a whole new chapter for Dr. Crane — one that would see him return to Boston and reinsert himself into the life of his son, Freddy (played by Jack Cutmore-Scott in the revival).
But even after locking in this new premise, there were further hurdles to navigate. Leaving aside the fact that when it finally aired, Frasier 2023 revealed itself as a series that really should have been a one-off special, the period directly before its launch on the Paramount+ streaming service also brought some minor controversy. After a season that contained brief sparks of the magic that made the original "Frasier" so beloved, the Paramount+ revival series actually ended on a high note. The "Frasier" reboot season finale stacked up quite well against previous Christmas episodes, featuring a classic Frasier dinner party gone awry and some decently executed farce that recalled the original sitcom's inimitable mix of humor and heart.
But there's no doubt the best part of the finale was the return of Peri Gilpin. Across all 11 seasons of the original sitcom, the actor played Roz, Frasier's producer at Seattle radio station Kacl. The character became just as beloved as the rest of the supporting cast, which included David Hyde Pierce as Frasier's equally pompous brother Niles, John Mahoney as the brothers' father Martin, and Jane Leeves as housekeeper and Martin's carer, Daphne. One of the surprises of the "Frasier" revival season finale was that it stacked up quite well against previous Christmas installments. Considering the reboot show was a neither disappointing nor remarkable return to the world of Frasier Crane, it was nice to see the writers step things up for the final episode. But that wasn't the only surprise in the finale. At one point we witnessed a truly unexpected development when Toks Olagundoye's Harvard Psychology department head Olivia got together with Jimmy Dunn's firefighter Moose. Not only did the two characters seem completely incompatible, there wasn't even a hint throughout the preceding nine episodes that the characters might get together. Making things even more bewildering was the fact that the previous episodes had suggested we could see a relationship develop between two other characters.

The Frasier reboot was years in the making, and now its first season is in the books. While select cast members have returned to the series, not everyone decided to come back. David Hyde Pierce, who played Frasier’s brother, Niles, opted not to reprise his role. Jane Leeves, who took on the role of Daphne Moon, has not appeared either, and John Mahoney, who played Martin Crane, died before the reboot was even a consideration. Kelsey Grammer, the actor behind the iconic role of Dr. Frasier Crane, recently revealed who he’d like to see come back for the reboot. The character wasn’t a huge part of Frasier, but she played a massive role in Cheers, the show that introduced Dr. Crane to the world. Grammer revealed he’d like to see Shelley Long reprise her role as Diane Chambers if Paramount+ greenlights a second season of the Frasier reboot.

Over an impressive 11 years, every season of "Frasier" boasted some top-notch guest stars. The beloved sitcom, which recently returned for a revival show that was neither disappointing nor remarkable, featured everyone from Patrick Stewart to Michael Keaton and almost the entire cast of "Cheers" — the show on which Frasier Crane himself debuted.
But there were also a ton of major guest appearances that we never got to see. Dr. Crane famously ran a call-in talk radio show on Seattle's Kacl station, where he would dole out life advice to embattled residents of the Emerald City, many of whom were big-time celebrities. At one point Macaulay Culkin called Frasier's show as a self-conscious 43-year-old man who was concerned about his youthful voice. Then there was the time Helen Mirren sought Dr. Crane's advice about her kleptomania. But that's just the beginning of the sitcom's extensive list of unseen guest stars. In fact,...

When "Frasier" returned for a neither remarkable nor disappointing revival series in 2023, several things about the beloved titular doctor's comeback just felt off. The new incarnation of the sitcom was a fairly harmless and light-hearted affair, peppered with flashes of the sitcom magic that characterized the original show. That initial series ran from 1993 to 2004, becoming one of the greatest sitcoms to ever grace our screens. But while the revival saw star Kelsey Grammer firing on all cylinders and gave us a season finale that stacked up nicely against previous Christmas episodes, the supporting cast just wasn't ever going to be able to live up to the original ensemble. All of which made for a revival show that felt kind of like "Frasier," but not quite.
Adding to that uncanny feeling was the fact that "Frasier" 2023 also lacked something of the visual magic of the original. It's perhaps unfair to compare...

When "Cheers" returned to NBC's airwaves for its third season, viewers were desperate to see how bartender Sam Malone (Ted Danson) and Diane Chambers (Shelley Long) had handled their breakup at the conclusion of the previous season's finale. Had they moved on or possibly reconciled?
The answer was a little more complicated than perhaps many fans expected.
Recovering alcoholic Sam was back on the sauce and carousing with self-destructive abandon. Diane was, as ever, Diane, but she couldn't bear to see Sam in such a rough way. She didn't want to get back together with him, certainly not while he was scraping rock bottom, but she still cared about her ex. She needed to see him in at least a semi-functional state. She needed to get him help. And she believed she knew just the man who could throw him a lifeline.
That man, of course, was psychiatrist Frasier Crane.

When Frasier Crane returned to screens in 2023, he did so without any of the supporting cast from his original series. "Frasier" ran for 11 seasons from 1993 to 2004, propelled not only by its lovably pompous protagonist but by a cast who seemed as though they were born to play the various supporting characters. From David Hyde Pierce as Frasier's brother, Niles, to Jane Leeves as housekeeper Daphne, the series was boosted by one of the finest sitcom casts ever assembled.
In 2023, however, not a single cast member besides star Kelsey Grammer came back, prompting the actor and his new writers, Chris Harris and Joe Cristali, to dream up a whole new adventure for the titular doctor. One of the most memorable characters on the long-running NBC sitcom "Frasier" isn't one of the fussy humans that surround radio psychiatrist Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) but rather his father Martin's (John Mahoney) Jack Russell Terrier, Eddie. Eddie is a fully-fledged character who sometimes seems even more human than his two-legged counterparts, showing love to Martin and the Crane's live-in housekeeper, Daphne (Jane Leeves) while serving as Frasier's arch-nemesis. Portrayed by dog actor Moose and later his son, Enzo, Eddie became a vital part of the series' comedic chemistry. However, there's an old adage about never working with animals or children because they can be difficult and chaotic, and that was often the case on the set of "Frasier."

George Carlin’s daughter Kelly Carlin is not laughing at an AI-generated comedy special on YouTUbe consisting entirely of an “impersonation” of her comic-genius father.

Kelsey Grammer doesn’t have any plans for any of the Cheers characters to pop up in the new Frasier sitcom. However, the actor who plays Dr. Frasier Crane does think that Diane Chambers, played by Shelley Long, deserves some closure.
“I would like to see Diane come back,” Grammer said on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “For one of those reasons of Frasier to be able to put something to bed. To end up with a nice thing between them.”
He continued, “When I first got the role, the key to Frasier for me was that he loved her with his whole heart, that he loved with all of his being. In Entertainment Weekly's 1993 cover story on Moose, the beloved Jack Russell Terrier that played Eddie on "Frasier," the dog was described as "the hottest pooch to be unleashed on the airwaves in years." The story itself was proof of Moose's popularity — what other TV pet was getting an EW cover story? On the show, Eddie belonged to Frasier's dad, Martin (John Mahoney), and was just as beloved by the characters in the series as he was by the audience. The only character that wasn't too fond of Eddie was Dr. Frasier Crane himself.
Moose appeared in 192 episodes of "Fraiser," with his son, Enzo, also standing in as Eddie in the later seasons. Reboots of beloved shows from decades past can be easy ways to trap viewers through nostalgia. Some can break off and start to feel like their own entity (as with Frasier), while others are just cheapo cash grabs that bring nothing fresh to the original premise. But Ray Romano won’t even bother trying to find out how a reboot of Everybody Loves Raymond would fare with audiences, saying it is absolutely “out of the question.”
As for why Romano is shutting down even the idea of an Everybody Loves Raymond reboot, he has plenty of reasons, starting with the simple point that “they’re never as good…and we want to leave with our legacy as what it is.” There, too, would be two key cast members missing: Peter Boyle, who passed away in 2006 just one year after the sitcom went off the air, and Doris Roberts, who died...

When the "Frasier" revival was first announced there was a series of inauspicious developments. First, no one from the original series, including Niles actor David Hyde Pierce, wanted to return for the reboot, which left just Kelsey Grammer to reprise his role as the lovably stuffy psychiatrist. Then, Grammar himself, who was coming off 2020's incomprehensibly bad "Money Plane," added to the general air of concern surrounding the show by voicing his not-so-modest opinion that Frasier alone was the key to the original sitcom's success.
This would have been disquieting enough by itself had there not already been a general sense that "Frasier" 2023 was yet another nostalgia play in our nostalgia-mad monoculture. Add all that together and the build-up to the show's debut was far from the joyous and triumphant celebration that fans of the original sitcom no doubt hoped would accompany the return of their beloved Dr. Crane.

Rachel Dratch used to be the ultimate "Oh, her!" comedian — the type of face and voice you'd always recognize, but whose name you might forget. Well, that didn't last long, because she was so memorable in tiny parts like "Southern Woman" ("Martin & Orloff") and "Female Mc" ("Winter Passing") at the outset of her career that she quickly grew into a beloved household name.
We know and love her now for her long tenure on "Saturday Night Live," where she helped create enduring characters like Debbie Downer, and in memorable roles in films like "Sisters," "Click," and "Just Go With It." Since she made her screen debut, Dratch has amassed an enormous 125 screen credits, and that's just counting individual projects, not episodes of TV, which would stretch into the multiple hundreds.
Those early years, where she was fighting for recognition with ounce inch of her comedic prowess, are well worth revisiting.

For a show that's known for its highbrow humor, "Frasier" certainly made liberal use of farce. Episodes full of ridiculous hijinks can be found throughout the sitcom's 11 season run, and are often remembered fondly as some of the best installments in the show's history.
The dead seal episode, which was inspired by real events, stands out as one example. In it, the titular doctor (Kelsey Grammer) and his brother, Niles (David Hyde Pierce), attempt to hold a sophisticated dinner party while simultaneously dealing with a stubborn seal carcass that repeatedly washes up by the decking of their beach house. It's silly but somehow doesn't feel out of place within the overall "Frasier" canon.
But the finest farce in "Frasier" history is arguably the season five episode "The Ski Lodge," in which Dr. Crane, Niles, their father Martin (John Mahoney), his carer Daphne (Jane Leeves), and her friend Annie (Cynthia Lamontagne...

Sometimes, you just need a warm hug from an old friend during the holidays, and Frasier Season 1 Episode 10, delivers that and more.
The installment was the perfect combination of sentimental, sweet, and funny. It showcases why this series absolutely deserves to get renewed for a second season.
And Roz's arrival was the big hug that Frasier and the audience needed.
Because if anyone can tell Frasier what he needs to hear, especially if it's that he shouldn't be the lone man at his pity party, it's Roz.
But Frasier had every right to feel melancholy. This was his first Christmas since Martin passed away.
Heck, it made my heart hurt a bit to see the silver tinsel Rudolph wreath and the singing and dancing Santa that, thank goodness, refuses to die.
Frasier: I used to hate Dad’s Christmas decorations, and now even this old Rudolph wreath is making me sentimental.

There was every reason to be skeptical about the "Frasier" reboot. Back in the '90s, producers David Angell, Peter Casey, and David Lee pulled off the seemingly impossible by spinning off the character of Frasier Crane from "Cheers" and making a sitcom that became as beloved as the classic show from which it had sprung. Running for 11 seasons between 1993 and 2004, "Frasier" set itself apart from every other sitcom with a mix of highbrow humor and heart, made all the more effective by one of the best ensemble casts ever assembled on the small screen. By the time the show wrapped and Frasier departed his native Seattle for a new life in Chicago, we'd had 11 arguably perfect seasons.
So, the idea of reviving the show 20 years after the close of the original was both an exciting and daunting prospect. After all, how was our beloved Dr. Crane, who seemed to...

The "Frasier" revival show has wrapped up its Paramount+ run with a Christmas installment that, at times, manages to recapture the "Frasier" magic which has mostly eluded the series thus far. Earlier episodes have provided significant nostalgia hits by giving us a touching tribute to the late Martin actor John Mahoney, and a special guest appearance from Bebe Neuwirth as Frasier's ex-wife Lilith. But showrunners Joe Cristali and Chris Harris have saved the best for last.
The tenth and final episode of the new series, "Reindeer Games," not only sees the writers try their hand at a classic "Frasier" farce, it also features the return of Peri Gilpin as Roz, Frasier's former radio producer from the original series. Not content with just one major nostalgia hit, the episode also opens with the titular doctor sitting mournfully among his late father's Christmas decorations, which feature two specific items that appeared in previous "Frasier" episodes.

[This story contains spoilers from the season finale of Frasier, “Reindeer Games.”]
As the credits roll on the season finale of the Frasier revival, Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Frasier Crane — the role he originated 39 years ago on Cheers — frustratedly conducts a string quartet of not-yet-classically trained child musicians through a rendition of “Tossed Salad and Scrambled Eggs.” How a bunch of kids ended up performing the series theme song is a classic Frasier conundrum.
In the episode, “Reindeer Games,” a series of mix-ups ensue as Crane “frasiers” hosting an elegant holiday dinner party (yes, “frasier” becomes a verb in this episode). The problem: He’s mistakenly hired an elementary school string quartet, ordered 24 Christmas trees and a live goose, and made the egg nog so thick that one of guests asks, “Is this flan?”
The comedic timing of each mishap plays like an orchestra, thanks to Grammer’s stellar directing. “Reindeer Games” is the third episode he’s helmed for the Paramount+ revival series,...

The first season of "Frasier" is remarkable for having all the elements that made the show so beloved. Whereas you wouldn't begrudge "Friends" fans for skipping the first season on a rewatch, and even "The Simpsons" took a while to settle into its groove, "Frasier" seemingly had it all dialed in from the outset.
In fact, the show had things figured out in the pilot, "The Good Son," which first aired in 1993. In the inagural installment, the writing is as sharp as "Frasier" ever was. Meanwhile, star Kelsey Grammer, already adept at playing the finickity psychiatrist from his years portraying him on "Cheers," is effortlessly comfortable in the lead role. Even the supporting cast are all perfectly-pitched from the outset, making the pilot a truly impressive artifact as well as a brilliantly funny episode of the beloved sitcom.

The "Frasier" revival started out in much the same way as the original series. On the beloved sitcom, which ran from 1993 to 2004, the titular doctor arrived in a new city which was actually an old city. Having lived in Boston during the years he spent as a regular on "Cheers," Frasier moved back to his native Seattle to start a new life as a newly-divorced bachelor and host of a radio call-in show. But his plans promptly changed when he was left with no choice but to take in his elderly father, Martin (John Mahoney) and the pair were forced to confront their differences.
In the revival show, Frasier once again moves to a new city which is actually an old city. Arriving back in Beantown, the doctor plans on visiting his son, Freddy (Jack Cutmore-Scott) before departing for Paris. But once again, his plans change, and he finds himself with a new roommate,...

Kelsey Grammer returned to reprise his role of Dr. Frasier Crane one more time. Over the last four years, Grammer has taken on the part of Frasier across multiple TV shows, beginning with Cheers and now, presumably, ending with the Frasier reboot. While Frasier is Grammer’s signature role, the part was initially intended for someone other than him. The character was actually created with another actor in mind. Grammer was only afforded the chance to audition for the role because John Lithgow turned down the part.
John Lithgow could have played Dr. Frasier Crane, but he turned down the part
While Kelsey Grammer turned out to be the perfect Frasier, the role wasn’t supposed to be his. If John Lithgow hadn’t turned down the part, script unseen, Grammer wouldn’t have ever gotten the opportunity to audition. Lithgow reminisced about his career and his near misses in a recent interview.

The Cranes might be the smartest family in TV history. At least in sitcom history. In terms of sheer brain power, the "Big Bang Theory" crew certainly have them beat, but Kelsey Grammer's Frasier, his brother Niles (David Hyde Pierce), and ex-wife Lilith (Bebe Neuwirth) -- all psychologists -- command a ferocious amount of cultural and academic intellect between them. Heck, add the intuitive prowess of Niles' wife Daphne (Jane Leeves) and the street smarts of the boys' father Martin (John Mahoney) into the mix and you've got a meeting at the minds that could test the very mettle of Mensa.
Across the original series' eleven seasons, Frasier's and Niles' intellects were frequently used as the immovable objects that story plots wound around, crashed into, undercut, and attempted to outpace to generate laughs. The Crane boys were so smart, so many episodes contended, that they would find themselves blithely...

This post contains spoilers for the eighth episode of the "Frasier" revival.
When the original "Frasier" series was first coming together, Niles actor David Hyde Pierce thought the pilot script was terrible. Thankfully, the show would run for 11 seasons between 1993 and 2004, during which time it would pick up 37 Emmys and become one of the most beloved sitcoms and most successful spin-offs of all time. So what was Hyde Pierce's problem with the pilot? Well, he thought the writers had basically written two of the exact same characters with Niles and Frasier. This, however, turned out to be an inspired choice. As writer and producer Christopher Lloyd told Vanity Fair in 2018:
"Conventional wisdom would have you pair Frasier with a brother who's a welder, watches football, and sticks his hand in the top of his underpants. The genius was pairing him with a fussier, more erudite version of Frasier, which...

In /Film's review for the "Frasier" revival, Josh Spiegel described it as neither disappointing nor remarkable. Which is pretty much the perfect description for the supporting characters. After Jane Leeves, who played Daphne Moon on the original series, and David Hyde Pierce, who played Niles, passed on the opportunity to come back, showrunners Chris Harris and Joe Cristali had to go back to the drawing board. Along with star Kelsey Grammer, who remains the only original cast member to return in a recurring capacity, Harris and Cristali drew up a new plan for their revival show.
Now airing on Paramount+, that show has done its absolute best to chart a new course for Frasier Crane while remaining faithful to the original show. There are even callbacks to "Cheers" where the character of Frasier first debuted. But try as it might, the new series just can't seem to overcome the lack of the original supporting cast.

William Shatner. Leonard Nimoy. Nichelle Nichols. These names belong to some of the most influential actors in television history, but they are almost interchangeable with the names James T. Kirk, Mr. Spock, and Uhura. For better or for worse, these names and faces are inextricably tied to the characters they played.

One of the most polarizing TV shows is over, but were the meandering plots over the last five years worth it in the end?
For many fans, Fear the Walking Dead Season 3 was the end of the show because everything that came after was under new leadership that didn't respect the storylines that came before.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 11 and Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 12 featured scattered storylines, shifting allegiances, and some more character assassination.

After eight seasons, the popular zombie horror series Fear the Walking Dead came to a close with a two-part finale, concluding the saga of Madison Clark and her fight to survive the zombie apocalypse. Along the blood-soaked way, there is plenty of death and betrayal as the survivors battle for the fate of Padre, an island refuge that becomes threatened by the ravenous undead hordes amid the power struggle between the living. Telling a largely self-contained story within the wider Walking Dead universe, the Fear the Walking Dead series finale provides its main characters with a send-off and perhaps the closest thing they’ll ever get to a happy ending.

From “Cheers” to “Frasier,” Kelsey Grammer’s Frasier Crane was a mainstay of comedy TV for 20 years, from the ’80s to the early-aughts. Now, after an equal amount of time off the air, Grammer is back in the role for Paramount+’s “Frasier.”
The streaming series is a revival-meets-reboot that once again spins off Grammer’s character with a new cast of colorful characters. Some original “Frasier” stars will return to guest star. However, David Hyde Pierce won’t return as Niles and John Mahoney, who played their father Martin, passed away in 2018.
That means Frasier – along with “Frasier” fans – will be surrounded by new faces. With that in mind, here’s a handy guide to the new “Frasier” cast and characters, including where you might have the actors before.

We've been waiting for some big guest appearances on the new "Frasier" revival for some time. So far we've had June Diane Raphael of "Grace and Frankie" fame show up in an episode that seemed to suggest the reboot had forgotten all about a classic "Frasier" installment. But what we really want to see are some guest appearances from the "Frasier" of old.
The dream scenario would, of course, be David Hyde Pierce's Niles returning, but after the actor turned down an offer to come back for the revival show, that's very unlikely to happen. In the meantime, we've been gifted an appearance by Bebe Neuwirth, who plays Frasier's ex-wife and on-again-off-again romantic interest Lilith Sternin. Neuwirth shows up in episode seven of the revival portraying Lilith's classic "ice queen" persona that fans of the original series and "Cheers" — where she and Dr. Crane originated — will remember.

Prior to the debut of the "Frasier" revival on Paramount+, we heard a lot about how the show would present a different Frasier Crane. In a behind-the-scenes featurette, star Kelsey Grammer teased the new series with this summary:
"Now is the right time to bring Frasier back because he is not the same guy anymore. He is a little wiser, he may actually even be a little funnier, and he has a new mission in life. I mean, he's got some loose ends to tie up in Boston, but he also has a relationship to carve out with his son."
Meanwhile, co-showrunner Joe Cristali told the Los Angeles Times that in this new series, Frasier is "a little bit more comfortable in life; he's not as anxious [and] he's not the guy that has to prove himself anymore.

The entertainment world is still reeling from the sudden loss of Matthew Perry, the affable charmer who rose to fame as Chandler Bing on "Friends." The loss is greater considering that Perry was only 54 years old at the time of his passing, and how much closer fans felt towards him after his incredibly honest memoir, "Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing," came out just last year. Perry's autobiography received most of its press due to Perry revealing, in great detail, his severe problems with alcohol and substance abuse. The book helped make the man behind the curtain, so to speak, just as likable as the onscreen persona that he'll be most remembered for.
It's hard to imagine anyone else playing Chandler Bing at this point, and Perry wound up bringing a lot of his personal life to the part. As the show was ramping up for its first season,...

If you, like me, were someone who watched and loved "Friends" -- even with its many flaws -- you're probably doing a rewatch right now. The world lost Matthew Perry on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54, and it's pretty hard for fans to process. Perry, who played loveable goof Chandler Bing, struggled with addiction to alcohol and drugs during his time on the hit NBC series and afterward, according to his 2022 book, "Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir." Though it will be some time before we know the cause of death for my favorite Friend, viewers are recalling their favorite episodes and Chandler moments, and remembering the show for what it was.

Matthew Perry’s comedic genius was apparent from the very first episode of Friends.
That’s according to storied television director James Burrows, who helmed the pilot “The One Where Monica Gets a Roommate,” and would go on to direct 15 total episodes throughout the iconic NBC comedy’s 10-season run. A prestigious club with limited membership sounds like a classic scenario for Frasier, and that's just what we have in Frasier Season 1 Episode 5
But instead of Frasier and Niles vying to be chosen Corkmaster of their snooty wine club, we have Frasier, Alan, and Olivia trying to get into Harvard's elite Founder's Society.
Frasier's personality hasn't changed much throughout the years, and in his defense, most people don't.
Do you recall the original Frasier series installment titled "Door Jam," in which Niles and Frasier gained entry into an exclusive spa?
They loved it, but once they believed there was a Gold Level, they were no longer satisfied and had to get in to that.
And even then, they couldn't stay happy because they thought there was a Platinum level.
Well, there was no Platinum level. When they snuck through what they thought was the Platinum door, they found themselves...

Friends co-creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane are reflecting on their last conversations with Matthew Perry, who died on October 28, 2023.
The duo appeared on "Today" Wednesday morning, with Kauffman revealing she last spoke to the Chandler Bing actor two weeks ago.
"It was great. He was happy and chipper," she said on the telecast.
"He didn't seem weighed down by anything. He was in a really good place, which is why this seems so unfair."
Perry's death broke over the weekend, with reports stating the actor was found dead in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home.
Kauffman recalled the "utter shock" she felt after hearing the tragic news.
"My first impulse was to text him, honestly," she said.
"It's hard to grasp: one minute he's here and he's happy, and then poof.
"And doing good in the world, really doing good in the world."
